DATE & TIME :: Mid-Winter, Late Morning
WEATHER CONDITIONS :: Lightly Snowing & Mildly Chilly
PREVIOUS THREADS :: N/A
It was so beautiful, out here. The sky was light and violet, a mix of clouds and bare winter colours. The pine trees offered the best place to just sit and watch the forest. Although it was winter, Finn had seen quite the lively forest that morning. That is, it was lively for a very boring morning in Berk. There might of been a mouse or two that had passed by, but it really didn't matter. He'd come out here to get out of some chores his mother had planned for him, anyway.
"You'll do yer chores an' you'll like 'em, Finn!" He remembered her saying. Well, this particular young viking wasn't entirely too interested in helping around the house that morning. He'd said he was out to look for some deer, although he hadn't seen a single one. They were all hiding out from the cold, although they weren't sleeping. Finn had figured out long ago that those pesky little guys didn't tend to sleep during the winter.
At least, not as much as the other animals in the forest.
Most dragons tended to be less active during the coldest of the winter months, or they migrated south, but it had been getting nicer lately, and a couple had returned or woken up from hibernation.
Finn was hoping he might get one today (as he hoped every day), but he was mostly just out there to avoid bothersome mothers.
He'd perched himself up on some weird white tree stump. Well, it wasn't entirely a stump, but it used to branch off into three parts, then two of them were cut down a couple winters back. Now it made for a fairly good seat, and Finn had frequented the spot time and time again. It was an area that was partially cleared of trees, however it wasn't very large. The clearing was circular in shape, and had a few young pines beginning to grow in the center. Finn thought it was particularly pretty in the summer, when it became ridden with wild flowers and a stream of melted snow made its way and divided the clearing in half.
However, it wasn't summer, so he'd have to enjoy what he had for the time being.
He'd grabbed a cloth on his way out and wrapped three large fresh buns in it.
They smelt fresh still, and were just barely keeping their warmth. Finn stuck them deeper into his jacket, knowing he'd want them later on.
Finn, in his boredom, hocked up a rather impressive loogie and spat it a short distance.
"Note to self, practice loogie-spittin'..." he said to himself.
There wasn't much to do out here, but perhaps someone would walk along...
