For a second Sol was relieved that Sticks had woken up but that quickly changed. He wasn't saying anything that made sense. There was no doubt that he had a concussion. To be honest there was nothing one could do other than observe the person if they are concussed. Sol shakily put his legs down and crawled closer to his head. She searched his scalp for any swelling, though if there was anything she wouldn't have the ice needed to help. All that really could be done is hope.
The giggling creeped her out but she didn't know how to get him back to the present. She started talking about the obvious.
"Sticks, it's me, Sol. We're in a cave that your dragon, Frostbreath, made. Do you understand Sticks?" she noticed Scallop get up to leave.
"Wait, Scallop! Please don't leave."
"You'll be fine sweetie and I'll be right back. I promise," it broke her heart to see her this way but this was an emergency and she couldn't just tend to her own child,"I'll be right back Frostbreath. Take care."
With that she was out in the rain again. The first thing she aimed to get was a log of some sort. While she originally considered taking chunks of a rotting tree, she soon realized it was too moist to use. She would have to tear down a live tree. Scallop found one the wasn't to large but it would break at her weight hopefully. She leaned on the tree but it only got bent out of shape. To try and weaken it, she scratched at it with her hind legs. Scallop was no sharp class dragon but she got the job done. She dragged the tree near the hole, leaves and all. Not able to fit a tree in the cave, Scallop tore off pieces off the relatively thin trunk with her teeth. They could hardly be considered logs, some simply the bark she managed to pull off, but they should be enough to burn for quite a while. She nudged the misshapen logs in the hole.
Scallop then remembered that the sack she was carrying had to have a rag of some sort in it. If not, she knew there was one of Sol's brother's shirts in it that they forgot to take out. It was probably considerably soaked by now due to the rain. She rolled in the mud in an attempt to get the sack off. After she nudged the sack into the hole as well.
"There is a shirt in there you can use as a rag!"she shouted hoping not to startle anyone.
Now she simply would need to get food which may need more finesse. She would be going out into open water during a lightning, which weren't the best conditions. It would have been great if some lost yak stumbled into right now. Scallop trudged to the lake, not sure how she would catch anything.
