In the shadow of peace (irrite, saxi ,open)

Clockwork walkd slowly, his head still pounding from that horrible fight. That black draqgon really did a number on him, he'd even dented his mask. The metal mask that put him at so much ease. Humilated by the loss, he limped put into the forest... Alone for all he knew.

He laid down in a pile of leaves, licking his jagged cuts down his side, from his shoulder to his hip.  He didn't want Irrite to see him this way, that may make him think he was weak and coudn't protect him since he couldn't even protect himself. He laid he head down, snorting out an irritated sigh. Next time he saw Divorjak, he'd give him something to fear. 

His sides heaved heavily, he shifted, trying to get comfitorble. His sides hurting to the point that most dragons would cry in fear. He head noises moving around him, but decided to ignore it untill he saw afew terrible terrors come into view... The same ones Divorjak was terrorizing.  They lakd down at his side, in the bend of his tail.

[Luna Hieler & Ayer]

Luna walked through the woods on her usual route. The sun was above, but the overcast day shaded she and her dragon from the sun's rays, keeping them chilly under the tree-tops. Ayer, her Aquaterris, trailed behind her quietly, as usual. The cold-season freezes would be setting in soon, this may likely be her final chance to gather wild herbs for healing. Of course, she could always use homegrown plans from her garden, but she'd always been taught that wild herbs worked better. Her leather shoulder pack was nearly full with the assortment of pungent plants. The myriad of smells made her sneeze.

She recognized a useful plant and knelt on the forest floor to collect as much as she could of it. Ayer sided up next to her where she knelt and sniffed the green and red plant that she had drawn her knife to harvest. He flicked his tail, waving about the white tuft that tipped it like a flag. Luna scratched his nose, and he let out a pleasant purr in reply, lowering his haunches until he lay comfortably.
 
"I don't get to hear that out of you very often" she remarked in dragonese.
"Ah well, those two hooligans we live with don't give me much to purr about these days"
"Slity and Silvia? They aren't that bad, are they?"
"HMPH, for you maybe. Your mate distracts you so much you don't have much time to notice them. Or I, sometimes for that matter"
"Oh, don't be sour"
"It's mostly Silvia that's the problem"
"Cheer up, she'll grow out of that some. Until then, you and I can have quiet times like this, and you can run off and have a swim whenever you need some time." She rubbed his giant neck as she spoke, relaxing him. But she felt his muscles tighten abruptly.

Ayer sat up attentively with watchful eyes and swiveled his head around. He tasted the air. Rising to a stand, he took a quick step in a precise direction.
"What is it?!"
"A dragon; and I don't recognize the scent, but I smell blood."
Luna rose to her feet. "Let's investigate"
"Get on my back" he lowered the front of his body so the short girl could climb on.

Luna walked forward and clambered onto his back and situated herself. The dragon lurched beneath her, and took of at a jog. He gracefully avoided boulders and tree trunks with his dexterous feet, and powerful legs. She held on at the base of his short neck. He slowed after a short while, and slowly entered a small clearing. Within it lay a large dragon, dripping with blood. His powerful body shifted in pain.

The dragon healer  slid down Ayer's side, dismounting. She began slowly approaching the dragon, he clearly needed some help, and she could give it. She mumbled to the wounded dragon in words he would understand, hoping he wouldn't be angered and lash out. "Hey, you're hurt pretty badly..."

Ayer watched her approach and became anxious. The Aquaterris saw the hurt dragon shift toward her. On impulse, he darted forward, getting himself between Luna and her destination, suppressing the growls that rose in his throat. A wounded dragon was more easily angered, and he wasn't about to see his rider torn to shreds. He small body was only a few claw-strokes away from death in the paws on the other dragon.

"Clockwork?" Irrite called out as he entered the forest. Camo came back earlier when he woke up, but there was no sight of his. Venny guessed he was doing dragon things, which was very vague. So Irrite went into where Venny's Changewing and his Western Dragon went, the spooky forest. It was very possible that Clockwork was still lingering around. At least he hoped so, he didn't want to get lost.



He glanced around the trees as he looked for a mechanical dragon, it wasn't that hard in a place full of loose leaves. Once Irrite spotted Clockwork, he was about to run and hug him for a greeting, but there was someone else! But now that Irrite was closer to the two, he noted the gashes and horrors added on to Clockwork. This was bad, very bad. What has that dragon been doing?! Irrite wanted to dash over there and scold him, but that was clearly not the correct choice to do as Clockwork probably had a reason, and there was a person he didn't know. 

So Irrite clung on behind one of the trees as he watched the two from the distance. He was hoping for the best.

Clockwork snorted, his sides moving heavily eith each heaving breath. He moved to get up, but decided against it and staied down as the other dragon aproached. He just wanted to find sleep. He was finding difficulty in being able to keep his mask on and his ugly side hiden. 

He jumped when he heard the footsteps getting closer, fear of Divorjak returning to finnish him off drove him to his feet. He wasnt going down without a fight. He lowered his head, his horns covering the backof his neck as his jaw covered the soft part of his throat. His wings moved down to cover his injured sides and all four legs steaked sturdily into the ground. His eyes narrowed as it seemed to be a diffrent dragon. He felt himself bleedinh more, like rain underneath him. He still felt lightheaded from the horrible gouging he managed to survive.His grip on the ground began to slip, he could nolonger hold himself up. He colapsed again, not enough blood to keep his body functioning. 

The second he heard a human's voice he calmed abit. Visably his muscles relaxed, he stoped trying to fight his way up again,his head lifting slightly to look her in the eyes. His one green eye showing life, but the glass one was cold as death. Within afew moments of studying her he was able to deduct that she was a healer of some sort.He rested his head back down, pulling his wing back to let her get to the wounds. 

His eyes focused on thr tree Irrite was behind, his scent wafting to him in the breeze. He gave a defeated huff, he'd lost the fight, and now his human saw the aftermath.

"Ayer! Let me by, he's hurt badly!" The dragon swung his head around and looked at the hurt dragon. He lay submissively. Ayer gave Luna a weary glance before backing away. The dragon healer approached the dragon near his head and set her hand gently on his neck to show she was peaceful. "Hey there, you can understand me, right? I'm going to help you out, okay?" She ran her hand down his neck and on to his shoulder, avoiding spots with blood. She would have to use the medicines she'd gathered today. She didn't like the idea. These were the last wild herbs they would have until spring, but this dragon needed serious help and there was no way that he would be able to walk all the way back to the village, where her stores were. She need to start healing him soon, or else the blood loss would be fatal. "Okay, where does it hurt the most?"

Meanwhile, Ayer smelled a newcomer. Following the scent, he found a viking youngster lurking behind a tree at the edge of the clearing. What was he up to? The large dragon approached the hiding kid. He didn't want to scare the human off, so Ayer tried his best to act friendly. He snorted when the young human finally saw him.

Irrite kept watching in the distance, curling his fingers around some of the bark that stuck out of the tree. He was really worried about the health of his own dragon. It only brought unanswered question about the rough activities his dragon was fooling around with. He doubt that Clockwork would waste any time to mess with Camo, or even fall down a really high hill. But it looked like the stranger that was in front of Clockwork was helping him out. Which brought some major relief to Irrite honestly. He wouldn't know what to do in these types of situations.

Maybe they were a doctor? Irrite wanted to ask but that would totally blow his cover! The boy leaned closer, only to realize there was something off. Maybe he had a growth spurt and that was why his shadow was bigger than usual? Irrite rubbed his chin at the thought. He couldn't really achieve that height in just mere minutes could he? Maybe he over drank some milk last week and it came back to bite him. Irrite looked up to see a huge dragon. So that's where the shadow was coming from. It took the viking a second to realize that a large dragon of unknown niceness was near him.

Irrite gulped as he resumed his watch on Clockwork. Maybe the big reptile couldn't see him yet. Who was he kidding he was way out of hiding. "H-hey there buddy...." Irrite awkwardly greeted, avoiding eye contact. "Y-you're not planing on dinner anytime soon are you?"

Clockwork's breathing was abit labored from his horrible injuries, he spat to the side, blood hitting the ground instead of spit. He dexided to lay still and let her work. He normaly didnt trust other humans exept irrite, however he understood her and that she was goingto help him. 

"mostly down my sides and the side of my head. " he replied, he pushed his muzzle into his claws, pulling the mask off, revealing the ravaged, scsrred skin. The glass eye clanking into the mask androlling around, leaving the eyesocket bare. He looked like a monster, the flesh on his jaw was fully cleaved off in just a scarred mass of exposed teeth were his lip should have covered his mouth. However, the fresh eound near the temple of his head bled the whole way down his face, his injuries were severe however when he sensed Irrite's fear he forced himself up. 

He snarled, flames swirling through the gaps in his exposed teeth and torn nostril. He looked like some demon from the firey pits of hell after centuries of torture, blood falling like rain from his sides, his head low in a defensive stance, flames crawling up the side of his face like a broken chimney. He moved to face Ayer, fearless, eventhough he was on death's door. 

"Leave him alone, hes my human. Touch him and I'll skin you alive." he threatened in a deadly clam manner. He was dead serious. His hind legs faultering abit before he caught his balance again. He spat up more blood but wouldnt lay back down again untill Ayer was a safe distance from Irrite.

Borea tilted her head in the direction of the group meeting together; never turning or looking away. The scent of blood hitting her nose as she listened in as much as she could; not even the talk of her own trainer could break her fixation.
Scout however was completly oblivious to the event happening a few miles away; she was to busy trying to fix her saddle of water damage after the two had just stopped on land for a brief moment, "I really need to get this upgraded or something..pretty sure saddle's don't grow frozen mold!" She looked to Borea..who was looking off into the distance for some unknown reason.
"Hey I'm talkin to you...is any of this getting past that armor horn of yours?"
A sudden jolt and Borealis took off toward the noises; leaving Scout in her sitting position quite confused.

Coming upon the scene, Borea haulted right at the edge of this small clearing, still visible to the one human and the two dragons before her; she noted the one defensive display of the mechanical dragon and how badly injured he was. She huffed out with her frostbreath in Dragonese, "You look as if Thor brought you from the gates of He'll beaten and broken..what did this to you?"
