It's Snoggletog and what better way to celebrate the return of the dragon is with a race!
Now Dawn of the Dragon racers is out, we understand what the rules are:
1 - Riders begin at the Dragon academy. Races will either be in teams of two or singles, but no mixed number of groups, it's either one or the other.
2 - A horn signals the release of the sheep. A handkerchief is dropped and the race begins.
3 - Riders have to collect the painted sheep (painted sheep only, NO CHEATING!) Non-painted sheep don't count, as they are not part of the race. The riders will have to do a complete lap of the village starting from the goals before they can score.
4 - Riders will put their sheep in their designated nets. If the race has gone on too long, or there are no more sheep, the last lap will be declared. Number of sheep depends on the number of players.
5 - A sheep-slinging ballista will be placed somewhere in the village, and the bonus black sheep will be shot up into the air. Whoever scores the black sheep earns 5 points.
Whoever earns the most points wins.
How this is going to play in RP:
We have little choice but to do dicerolls, but schemes between players override dicerolls. A while ago I added a dice roll feature to posts, its that button next to the smiley in the shape of... well a dice.
Here's an example; eaHVAzzt Except you only see the roll after you made a post. oh it already rolls 20 then lmao i was worried
Essentially we're going to roll for the following:
We'll be rolling with d20's so you write [ roll] without spaces. 10 is a pass, 20 is a critical pass, 1 is a critical fail. So this 4 is like a fail and it's near 1 so it's really really meerrggh. So depending on how far or close you are to 10, you can write how well you did in your pass/fail... or not. For example a Night Fury that got 20 in intercept can do something fancy bedazzling awesome intercept, but if he scored like, 13 it wouldn't be as spectacular, and 10 is only just passing. If you choose to intercept, you need to separate the passage to indicate it's subject to change. Whoever is being intercepted has to reply with a dice roll of their own. If they get a higher score than the previous intercept roll then they suceed and they can write how they managed to defend their sheep from the attacker. If they fail , well, they failed.
It's essentially a luck factor, and it makes the game equal for everyone, so if a Gronckle and Night Fury are in a race together, a Gronckle could still win.
It's a lot to take in, we've never done this before so it's going to be a big test! We'll need members to actively reply and commit to this thread so it doesnt die. If i feel like it's dying I/HALLDOR will announce the black sheep.
So! WHO'S RACING?!?!?
For RP's sake, we're racing in teams of two, and we're going to play with the canon and make team names out of their name combos - think ship names but not really.
TEAM1 - Svenwyn - Sven riding Hermes (Ambassador) and Beornwyn riding Delemia (Ambassador)
TEAM 2 - Boom riding Lockjaw (Gronckle) and Fern and Nima (Nadder)
(TEAM 3 -) OPEN ยท20

Essentially we're going to roll for the following:
- Success in getting the sheep
- Success at intercepting a sheep
- Defense of interception
- Success at scoring
- Success at certain maneovers that involve other players
