FULL NAME: Mouldy JamAGE: 35
A.K.A.: Mouldy, Mould, Jammy, Jam, Two-headed pain in my butt
GENDER: Male
SPECIES: Hideous Zippleback
LIKES:
o1) Fish, some might say any dragon likes fish but perhaps none as much as this Zippleback does. They will follow you even you have even so much as one fish on you.
o2) Causing trouble for just about everyone around them. Nothing is ever an easy task if they are part of it.
o3) Be scratched between their necks. They can't reach the spot, or always get tangled up trying to, and would love nothing more than a good scratch once in a while.
o4) Wide open spaces. Less things to crash into.
o5) And of course, explosions.
DISLIKES:
o1) Arguing, they may do it a lot but they certainly don't enjoy it.
o2) Being mocked about their faults. They are aware of them, and don't need reminding.
o3) Having things taken away from them, this is something they wont easily forgive.
o4) Dragons who think they are hot shit.
o5) Things being on their back, including humans.
STRENGTHS:
o1) Flaming Zippleback oroborus, for lack of a better name.
o2) When agreeing they are a truly deadly duo, with Mouldy's large than normal quantity of gas the explosions are bigger and more devastating.
o3) Jam has a good enough sense of smell that he is on par with some tracker class dragons.
o4) Mouldy is very good at understanding emotions, and when puts his mind to it he can help with conflicts.
WEAKNESSES:
o1) While Jam could remember what they ate a month ago, Mouldy constantly doubts him. And because of this second guessing, Jam often forgets important things. Such as, the way home, who is friendly, and who is not.
o2) Mouldy doesn't have good control over his gas, and very often leaks when he doesn't mean to.
o3) Jam has a very short temper, and often lights up Mouldy's gas 'spills' when he gets angry. He also tends to bite things and shock them with his sparks.
o4) The two of them tend to keep moving when they bicker, often leading them to get stuck or into places they really shouldn't be in.
o5) More often than not they forget they are one dragon, and get trees stuck between their necks, or plow over vikings assuming there is space between them when there is nothing but body.
o6) Mouldy is dim enough to bring down Jam's intelligence, if it were only Jam he would likely be a far more clever dragon.
o7) Flying in a straight line with out spinning, or suddenly plummeting. Usually caused by Mouldy's indecisiveness.
o8) They can't actually tell if something is on their back or not unless looking at it.
AMBITIONS:
o1) To find someone who understands they are one dragon, but still very unique personalities and can't be treated the same.
o2) To get the old saddle off their back.
FEARS:
o1) Something happening to one head, leaving the other to deal with the situation on their own.
o2) Being forced into a situation they can't get out of on their own.
APPEARANCE: Colour wise, this Zippleback is nothing extraordinary. Their scales a rich olive green, with splotches of purple. Underbelly scales a lighter, and slightly more yellow olive. Their facial horns are a light shade of green, likely the brightest colour on them besides their yellow eyes. The rounded spines down their back are a slightly darker shade of purple from the splotches. Their feet are a green similar in shade to their facial horns, fading back into the olive of the rest of their scales.
The right head has longer front teeth, while the left head has longer teeth towards the back of it's jaw. The right head also has several bite scars along it's neck, received from the left head. General of the two, the right head tends to appear more dopey or peaceful while the left tends to look more mischievous or grumpy.
On their back is a large single rider saddle, rough and beaten up looking as if it hasn't been cared for in ages.
INTELLIGENCE: 6.5/10
COMPASSION: 8/10
AGGRESSION: 4/10
LOYALTY: 7/10
SANITY: 5/10
HUMOR: 8/10
PERSONALITY:
Mouldy: Of the two heads, this one is certainly far more laid back and accepting of the world around him. It takes quite a bit to agitate him, but once he's angry calming him takes gentle words and lots of hugs. He refuses to listen to orders, and will ignore direct commands simply because he can. To get him to listen requires gentle guidance and reminders. He is more likely to listen to an order if it sounds like more of a request than a demand.
He works well with emotions, and can pick up on them fairly easily. Because of this he always knows when Jam is about to start a fight, and often will attack him first in hopes of stopping it. Naturally this has the opposite effect. But this combined with his calm nature makes him very understanding of others. He very rarely gets into fights with others, and often stops fights between other dragons.
Jam: Now this head, is certainly more aggressive of the two. He doesn't work well with other dragons, or even his other head. It doesn't take much to get him angry, and calming him down is nearly impossible. He usually just takes it out on Mouldy. But unlike Mouldy, he is very obedient and will only respond to a stern hand and orders. While Mouldy takes a gentle hand, you need to be rough with Jam if you want him to pay attention at all.
He has always been the brains of the two, and has a natural compass and amazing sense of direction. But what he overflows in intelligence he lacks in self confidence. He doubts himself, and second guesses his actions. This combined with Mouldy's self certainty often make it seem like they aren't actually a smart dragon. And when his intelligence is questioned, he tends to get aggressive.
Together they tend to spend most of their time either ignoring each other or starting fights. But when they aren't doing either of those they are causing chaos and destruction. It's one of the few things they agree on.
Due to past experiences, they aren't sure how they would feel about a rider. Even Jam, who had enjoyed the experience, is doubtful of if they would let another human on their back. But if any one did decide to accept the challenge, it would most certainly take two heads to tame the dragon.
PLACE OF BIRTH: Snoggletog Island
HISTORY: Born in the same way as thousands of dragons, an egg kicked into a small pool of water. Left to swim to the surface, and emerge to see the new world around them. Dragons, young and old everywhere. Should you ask the dragon what their mother looked like, one will answer 'a dark green like the night forest!' while the other will disagree and insist she was 'a rich purple like smashed berries.' Needless to say she had been there, and cared for the tiny awkward Zippleback. They had many siblings, and thus time alone with her was very minimal, but this was the way it was on the island.
Eventually the dragons would return to their homes, one way or another. Like many other hatchlings the young dragon ended up on Berk, likely because one or more of it's parents had lived there. Not that that much concerned the newly born two headed beast. They wanted to explore, and investigate, and much to the dismay of the Berkians, destroy. Dragon fighting days long gone, but the days of dragon fire burning the village? Not so much.
They often raided Meade hall, despite the effort put into keeping them out. Most avoided feeding them, simply because they would always come back for seconds, and thirds and so on. But one boy didn't seem to mind. Bearhands, a rough around the edges viking-in-training eager to try his hands at dragon taming. Soon enough the dragon realized this boy was a source of food, and would seek him out specifically. It got to the point where the dragon began to follow him home and demand food. And he had been more than happy to oblige.
The boy even went as far as to name the dragon, though not in the normal manner of giving each head a name that matched together some how. They were given one name, though at least in two words, that was created based on the colour of their scales.
Bearhands eventually led them into his home, while they still fit. Happy with their food source they decided to stay, much to the dismay of the boys parents. Putting up with them for a while, life was good for the Zippleback. But as they grew, they had to stay outside, often sticking heads through the windows or doors. They reached the size where the boy could fit on their back, and of course he knew this meant it was time. To their dismay, he put a saddle on their back. They didn't want to be ridden, but they had to admit it was an interesting experience. After knocking their rider off several times they began to enjoy it. Or, Jam did. Mouldy wasn't as fond of Bearhands rough handling and stern orders.
As the boy became a man, and the dragons problems with itself grew, the flights became less enjoyable and more conflict filled. It got to the point where one flight, they fought with gas and sparks. The viking attempted to calm them, but he only seemed to know how to calm one head. As Jam calmed Mouldy raged on, causing the dragon to go into a spiral. Jostling their rider from his straps, he clung on desperately to the plummeting dragon. But in the end when they crashed into the water he couldn't hang on any longer. When they pulled up from the water, flying low they didn't notice the lack of rider on their back. But with out the jerking orders pulling them about they were calm once more. But on their flight they went further and further away from Berk, Mouldy positive they were heading the right direction.
Eventually they found their place of birth, the scent of it was familiar and friendly. They stayed there for a while with a few other dragons. But when a larger group of dragons arrived, and after a few weeks when they departed the Zippleback felt compelled to follow. Thankfully, the parade of dragons led them back home.
