EVAN BERGMAN
Aliases/Nicknames: Evan the Lucky, Evan, and sometimes just Lucky
AGE: 20 years old
OCCUPATION: Shipbuilder
GENDER & SEXUALITY: Male, Straight
LIKES:
•His shield
•The ladies *Wolf whistle*
• Showing off his work (Proving his worth)
--Usually the ships don't last long, so he's got to while he has the chance
•Lounging around
--Hey, doesn't everyone?
•Being the center of attention
DISLIKES:
•Dragons
--Especially Scauldrons (Backstory Later)
•When people pronounce his name wrong
--"It's Eee-vawn, not Ev-in!"
•Being below average
--For both intelligence and strength (Usually aims for strength, but ends up doing it for brains when the girls get uninterested)
•Anyone that dislikes him
•Mutton
--He prefers fish
STRENGTHS:
•His uncanny ability to not break any bones, no matter how many accidents he's in (Thus the name "lucky")
--In other words, he has a sturdy build that can withstand some heavy blows
•He's good at avoiding bad situations
--Thinking ahead
•He's a perfectionist

WEAKNESSES:
•Even though he doesn't break anything, he whines like no tomorrow
--No doubt to pick up some ladies (That he probably won't have a chance with)
•Not a master of anything (Except shipbuilding)
--He's not really a fighter. Sure, he passed dragon training with flying colors, but he wouldn't last two seconds in a fight against another viking.
•Easily distracted
--Especially from those of the opposite gender, and those who pronounce his name wrong
•Lacks good balance
--He's so clumsy he trips over an imaginary rock at least once a day (Yeah.. totally keeps his "tough guy" image in tact, right?)
FEARS:
•Scauldrons
--Backstory later
•Being killed/defeated by a dragon
--Not the death itself. Just the reputation he loses if it happens.
•Heights
•Losing his masculinity/good looks
--I know, impossible, but hey... it could happen. (Like what growing old does to you...)
AMBITIONS:
•As any shipbuilder would, he wants to create the biggest, baddest ship ever seen.
•To actually get scars
--"Hey girls! I got this one while fighting a big ol' gronkle!"
•He might be a ladies man, but he wants to settle down someday
--It'll just take a while to find someone who can deal with him
•To make his parents proud
•To conquer his fear of Scauldrons/Kill the one from his childhood
SECRETS:
•He loves kids despite the "tough guy" attitude
--Only the kids actually know. Every once and a while, Evan hangs out with the kids (In secret, of course)
•He wants to know more about dragons
--Not befriend them, obviously, but to see how many kinds there are and what abilities they have (And possibly make a cool set of armor from one's hide)

•He may fake being an arrogant person, but he's actually quite selfless and caring
--Never in front of many others though
•Determined once he has his eyes set on something
•Somewhat of a pacifist

•Messy, unkept strawberry blonde hair
•Brown eyes
•High, prominent cheek bones
•Triangular chin
--(I don't know how to describe faces much... but...I tried)
•Sturdy, tall build
•Muscular
--Working on ships has its up sides
•Because he isn't a warrior, he tends to wear a pale brown tunic, black pants, and his helmet, which has four smooth horns (Similar to Tuffnut's)
•He's got multiple scars littered across his body.
--A long, but not deep, scratch going down his back
--A few scrapes down his arms (That'll eventually heal)
--A permanent burn mark on his left shin. (Backstory later)
--His hands have built up calluses throughout his years of working with wood.
HISTORY:
Evan was born in Spring to a small Hysterian family consisting only of his mother, father, and older sister, Sigrid. Both his mother and father were warriors, but unfortunately, his father had to give that up because of the dragon attack that made him lose his eye throwing off his depth perception. So his father looked into shipbuilding, which he found he was extremely good at.
His sister was lost when she ventured into the forest with a search party to find a troublesome Monstrous Nightmare who'd been attacking the village recently. They whole party was never found. Only burnt and tattered remains of clothing and weapons had remained, including Evan's sister's sword.
Evan learnt his trade directly from his father; How to draw the layout design, what kind of wood to use, and how much was needed. As a child, Evan always managed to find ways to get hurt. Most of it was because of peer pressure from his friends. One time he jumped off the roof of his house and into a pile of hay (That didn't quite have enough hay in it to cushion his landing), and another time he and his friends found a dragon's nest, and interrupted its sleep (Resulting in Evan's back and shin scar) Thankfully, Evan's mother had followed them.
But what really scarred him was one fateful day when he was 11 years old. He was helping his father sand down a plank for the next ship in the fleet, when his friends came along and begged for him to come with them. He gave in easily, and found that they'd wanted to show him something.
They brought him to a small cliff (Maybe 30 feet tall) overhanging the ocean. You can imagine, having about five 11 year olds on a cliff can get a bit dicey. Evan's friends told him whoever could stand closest to the edge would win. I think you can tell what happened next.
His mother spotted them from the butcher, and demanded they get away from the cliff. When they didn't seem to hear her, she dropped what she was doing and stomped towards them.
Evan fell after an unexpected gust of wind blew in the opposite direction, causing his already bad balance, to be thrown off. The impact to the water caused a concussion, and nearly knocked him out.
His mother desperately searched for a way to reach her son. The cliff-face was too rocky to climb down, and there was no path down.
The fall alone created his fear of heights (Even if he wasn't that high off the ground), but he could still swim well for a kid his age. His fear of Scauldrons was made when he spotted the elusive beast swimming around him, staring at him as if he were his next meal. Which, in fact, he almost was, if it wasn't for his mother who saved him in the nick of time by jumping in after him.
Normally, she'd have killed the dragon, but her son's safety came first, so she dragged him to the closest beach. Thankfully, the Scauldron decided they weren't worth the fight, and let them be.
After seeing the sea dragon's cold, yellow eyes, Evan was forever afraid of the species of water-dragon. He hasn't yet seen the one from that day.
WEAPON OF CHOICE:
He uses his shield and a one-handed sword.
--Uses his sister's sword to keep his sister's memory alive. To him, the sword represents her skill in battle.
FIGHTING STYLE:
Stays back, and away from his enemy's range until he's sure he can get close enough to deal a fatal or disarming blow. (Only with other vikings)
He relies on his shield to protect him while doing so.
For dragons, he tries to charge in, but ends up dodging the first few attacks before attacking himself.
