APPEARANCE: The beast is charcoal in color, his wings short for a dragon, yet common for his species. He has a raptor like head, with fangs that protrude from his slender jaw. He has long spine ridges on his back, that are shorter on each end and longer in the middle of his body. His eyes are a deep red color, and in the sunlight they reflect golden. In the night time they reflect an eerie orange-red. Besides this, he has two strong arms for grappling prey, with sharp claws on the end of each finger like claw. He also has two hind legs which are strong and built for running. He has a slender tail, with a venomous tip at the end; his fangs contain the same venom. On his body are several scars, as well as one ugly scar over his right eye. In this eye, he is completely blind.
PERSONALITY: He tends to hang around his pack, however he does enjoy raiding the village every now and again. Him and his pack are known to set fire to huts and such, as they despise the humans there. Viper personally believes the dragons are brain washed, as he does not see how a dragon could have any kind of relationship with a human. Viper does have a mild curiosity about humans specifically why other dragons would dare put so much trust in them... but alas, every time the brief curiosity enters his mind, past experiences flash through his mind and he dismisses the idea.
Other then that, Viper prefers to eat meat. He likes to watch his victims suffer before they surrender to his venom; not to actually see them suffer, but to see what death is like. Particularly he likes to see the humans in their final moments, as he finds their reactions especially intriguing. He has never been known to spare a victim, unless on the rare occasion they managed to escape. However, at times, he does feel guilty when watching his victims dying. However his own hunger and inner pain convince himself that it is for the better, that they would die someday anyway. Thus watching his victims die is more of a love and hate situation, as he is curious about death but doesn't enjoy the actual death.
History: He grew up in the outskirts of Outcast Island, surrounded by his pack. However, at a young age, disaster struck; a human raided his pack and managed to kill a few of his relatives before being injected with venom. Another human was with him, and by this point the pack had run off, leaving an infant Viper alone. At the time, Viper's venom was not potent enough to cause any harm to humans. Thus they were able to take him and bring him to their human enclosure. They forced him to fight other dragons from the first day they had him there. Often Viper would be beaten to an inch of his life before they would pull the other dragon out, kicking Viper and laughing at him. One day, a huge monstrous nightmare was pitted against him; at this point his venom was not potent enough to kill, only to make the beast suffer from being extremely ill. They fought; Viper was doing fairly well, until he made the mistake of turning to inject him with his venom. The beast took the chance, biting his face. His teeth went directly over Vipers eye. On that day he lost complete vision in that eye, as it was completely mutilated. It grew infected, red and sore. The humans, not wanting him to die as he was a valuable fighter, merely for entertainment and training purposes, fixed his eye in the only way they could; a horrid way, mind you. They gutted his eye, removing it from his socket and sewing the eyelid shut. The entire incident left a horrid scar, and horrible memories for Viper, but he lived.
He found it hard to battle, and had to rely on his venom to win battles rather then agility, for he often would take more hits due to not seeing the competitor coming at him or preparing to fire. Yet he still fought, and it was only when he grew older that his venom became potent, and when it did he took over the fights, finding himself able to inject his victims with the poison and get the upper hand. Alas, the first time he injected an enemy with victim it frightened him to the point where he wanted to die himself. Watching another dragon squirm and fight for life, only to surrender to death was heart wrenching for him. The humans cheered and threw things at the beast as he lay dying. Viper screamed in his dragon roars for them to stop, but they didn't, it only seemed to make it worse for the beast. Finally, the beast drew his last breathe and lay still.
At the next fight Viper refused to fight; this did not please the humans in the least, for they soon stopped feeding him. When his body was ready to give up, they opened the gates to let him fight. Before him was a terrible terror, trembling with fear. Viper stared at the small dragon; his stomach roared with hunger, the humans sneered at him... and that was when Viper realized the only way to eat was to kill. Thus he killed the tiny beast, watching it in its final moments before consuming the meat. Day by day the humans pitted dragons against him; the only way to eat was to kill, and for a long time Viper felt there was no escape. Yet inside him anger was building.. resentment.. shame.. guilt.. It drove him mad as he planned his escape. Finally, one day, when the human went to open his gate, Viper injected him with venom, before running out the gates, which had been foolishly left open. He was almost killed in the process, a human managing to grab hold of him to stop him, but he managed to just hardly escape, using the only thing he knew would give him the upper hand; his venom. Any human that dared to cross his path he injected with his venom, his powerful fire setting the village aflame.
Finally he flew away, to another island; far away. He even found a group of his own kind that took him in as one of their own. It seemed they hated humans as much as he did, if not more. Years passed, and he soon discovered that the island was different. Here humans and dragons seemed to be... friends.. Yet he didn't understand why. Why didn't the humans sneer, or make them fight each other, or starve them? Frustrated, angry, and confused, he decided that these humans needed to be reminded that dragons were not their friends. So he made it his life mission to set as many fires as possible, to inject as many humans with his venom as possible, with the help of his pack, of course. Together, they travel from village to village quite frequently, raiding each town as they go. At times he finds himself attacked himself, and at times must be rescued by his pack due to his impaired vision. Yet he continues, as always... Perhaps there is a way to stop him, if someone could ever change his views of humans. Otherwise, there is no hope for him, nor the villages he raids.
