CURRENT IC SEASON - DEVASTATING WINTER
Luna rubbed rubbed her temples and sighed. She'd just finished her weekly rounds at the dragon stables- which was always an undertaking. It was probably the most daunting task in the daily life of a dragon healer. Sure, a major injury was more stressful, but examining all those dragons and tending to so many little things was tedious- and having so many in one place was really not conducive the the way she typically chose to work. Stable day always promised dozens of little treatments: cuts, sprains, and coughs just to name a few of the daily offerings. In the past months, Curtis had come with her to help, and while she was capable of doing it herself, she'd become accustomed to the assistance... and the company. Going to alone today had been brutal, only because she was used to his support.
As she reached the exit, Luna buttoned up her thick winter coat and stepped outside. It was only a short walk to get home, but she didn't mind the walk at all today. The stables were very stuffy, so the fresh air was welcome, no matter how chilly. After such a long day, she would enjoy some time outside, and she knew exactly what she wanted to do after she got home.
Luna arrived home only a few minutes later. The thick wooden door boomed shut behind her. She slid her coat off her shoudlers and felt the firey warmth of home. She lazily dropped her bag of remedies by the door. Although what she said was obvious, she spoke loud enough to be heard throughout the house "I'm home!" From the corner, the dragons stirred, alerted to her presence. She a heard a collective purr come from the pack of them. She wandered over and gave everyone a scratch on the head. She took a look a round she room, and didn't see Curtis "Where's Curtis at?" she asked the dragons. Slity lifted his head "He's in his study, I think" She glanced in that direction. "Is his brother here?" she asked, noticing Delemia's abscense. "No he left earlier. Delemia didn't think they'd be home for a while." Perfect. Luna gave him another pat "Thank you" she said, as she wandered in that direction.
The door was open, so she entered his study quietly. Her fiance stood across the cozy room, organizing a small bookshelf. Seeing him, she smiled. She spoke softly, wanting to maintain the peaceful atmosphere after her hectic morning. It was especially quiet without Beornwyn, which she didn't mind. A few moments of privacy were increasingly valuable these days. "Hello" she said, walking towards him. "Looks like you've had a nice quiet day" she observed before wrapping her arms around him in a firm grasp. She sighed and nuzzled him gently. She stayed there for a few moments, allowing herself to be comforted.
She looked up at him "Ohhh... I had such a long day" she paused "You're definately coming with me next week, I missed you too much" compelled by the privacy of the moment, Luna pulled him into a kiss and lingered in it.
