CURRENT IC SEASON - DEVASTATING WINTER
Night time on Berk; dark, cold, and quiet. What could be better? It was the perfect time for hunting, the perfect time to make a kill. It was deathly quiet that night, as most humans were likely asleep; not even a single dragon nor human lurked in the village at that particular moment... Or at least, none that the young dragon could see. His one blind eye turned so his good eye could see the village. Growling as he sniffed the air, he lingered forward. Halfway through his claw caught on a root, and he snarled in frustration, snapping his head around to see the damage.
A bloodied claw met his vision; it might hurt to walk for a while, but it wasn't fatal. Snorting, he swiftly took flight, deciding it might be better to take a new view of his target. As he reached the village, he peered down with his good eye. Roars above him made him flinch, yet as he looked up he saw it was just his clan, hovering above him.
Subtle growls between them were exchanged, before two darted off into the darkness, while two more disappeared in the other direction. One larger beast led the charge down to the village, with Viper following. Since Viper was no alpha, it was his job to protect this larger beast as he hunted, and make sure nothing went wrong. Viper's duty in the battle was to basically kill anything that threatened him, his clan, or his leader. Especially his leader.
Yet who said he couldn't make a few... changes... to the plans? As he often did, Viper lifted his head and blew out a blast of fire to the village, as the other dragons were caught off guard at the flame. Viper gave a throaty gurgle, much the same as a laugh, as the dragons scrambled to attack. They seemed to be having much more fun now that they had flames to scare out their prey.
The alpha suddenly snarled at Viper, lunging at him quite suddenly as his claws grappled him. It was a challenge! Viper thought fast, unable to see out of one eye; he knew his chances were slim to none of beating him, but he also knew this was likely a fight to the death. Viper sunk his claws around the alpha's neck, clawing for the jugular. He could hear the beast gasping as Vipers claws ran over his air canal. As the beast lifted his head back, crying out his pain, Viper saw his chance. He sunk his teeth around the beasts neck, causing the beast to writhe in pain and panic, before his grip loosened, and his limp body fell from the skies.. straight into the flames.
And from the darkness of smoke and fire, Viper emerged victorious, glaring at his new clan, before turning his one dead eye around to see the village. A snarl erupted from him, as he commanded his new pack to attack. They looked amongst themselves for but a moment, before snapping their jaws, snarling and growling as they took orders from their new, blood-thirsty alpha. Scattering, they hid in the smoke, waiting for the vikings to run from their huts. Waiting.. for the chance to strike.
