NAME: Ramsey, Rames, Ram, Rammington (don't call her this unless you have a death wish)
AGE: 16
ORIGIN: Unknown, but grew up on Hysteria and considers that to be her origin
OCCUPATION: Warrior/Dragon Slayer/Huntress; Ramsey doesn't quite have one specific job, though since she's technically still a viking in training, most vikings treat that as her job. Despite her young age, she's one of the best warriors in the tribe, so she counts that as part of her job, fighting off enemies. She is also really good at dragon slaying, another part of her "job", though they're seem to be a few vikings in the tribe who are pro-dragon, as despicable as that is. The final part of her job would be huntress. Ramsey loves to go hunting, so much that she now does it for the tribe. While the bakers and fishers, and farmers grow and get food for the tribe, some vikings, such as Ramsey prefer more meaty meals, of which Ramsey provides. As for her rank, she isn't very high up, but that she believes is because of her technical title as viking in training, because despite that low title, the other vikings are still careful not to get on her bad side, and she is the one they seem to call when there is a dragon problem, regardless of her title.
GENDER & SEXUALITY: Female, Heterosexual
LIKES: Hunting, Weaponry, Rain, Eels, Training, Snow, Training
DISLIKES: Dragons, Outsiders, Lies, Ships, Yak Milk, Dragon Lovers, Berk, Humidity, Hail, Thunder and Lightning,
STRENGTHS:
Intelligent-
Unlike some of the more meat headed vikings who reside on Hysteria, Ramsey is extremely smart. She uses this to her advantage by coming up with new weaponry, and traps, which help her slay dragons, and the occasional viking. She also uses this by reading up on dragons to know what exactly they do and what their fighting style is, so she knows how to defeat them.
Observant-
Being a huntress, Ramsey has grown to be very observant of her surroundings. She can predict when a dragon or another viking is going to attack, and uses her five seconds of warning to strike them down before they can. The other vikings tease she can spot a changewing before it shows itself, something that while she has yet to do it, could possibly be true.
Agile-
Ramsey is not as strong as a dragon, or even a few of the larger vikings, so she uses her speed and agility to win against those foes. She can duck out of the way of an attack, and then swiftly strike a blow while their defenses are down.
Extremely Well Trained-
Having dedicated her life to slaying dragons, Ramsey has trained with every weapon she can find or make, in order to make herself a threat with whatever tool she has. This has allowed her to be able to pick up the closest weapon, and use it with well trained skill. This also gives her an advantage against any viking who hasn't trained their whole life, especially the pesky Berkians whom she feels rely too much on their dragons.
Willing to Break Laws/Rules for Justice-
Ramsey has a strong sense of justice and what's right, and will often break rules in order to give justice. While this allows her to accomplish things that others are too scared or unwilling to do, it can also make her seem like some sort of vigilante, and a threat to the way of the village.
WEAKNESSES:
Untrusting-
Ramsey trusts very few people, in fact she can count all the people she trusts on one hand, and still wield an axe. This has proven to be a weakness, as it has prevented her from trusting people enough to follow their plans or even count on them to have her back, which has resulted in casualties as well as a variety of broken bones.
Constantly Training-
While this allows her to be an amazing fighter and slayer of dragons, it has prevented her from a lot of interaction with her fellow vikings, and it has also kept her from making friends. And it also tends to get to the point where she trains so much that she becomes sleep deprived which leads to her passing out at the worst possible times.
No Mercy-
Ramsey rarely ever shows any mercy, and when she fights, she's going for the kill. Only in practice duels or when fighting someone she actually cares about (which is almost never) does she show mercy, but Ramsey showing mercy means she break your arms and possibly your legs, but she won't kill you. This inability to show mercy to an enemy has benefitted her in a couple situations, but a majority of the time things would have turned out a lot better had she shown mercy.
Ships-
Her fear of ships has proven them to be one of her weaknesses. Ramsey refuses to ever get on or touch a ship; the whole island could be on fire and her only chance of survival could be to get on a ship, but she wouldn't do it, she would rather burn.
Doesn't Listen-
Ramsey rarely listens to what others say. She hears what they're saying, she just choses not to listen. Only to a select few will she almost always listen, but this falls right in line with trust, something Ramsey lacks towards most vikings. However this has gotten her into some tight spots, and eventually it will get her into something she can't get out of.
FEARS:
Betrayal-
Ramsey is afraid that others will betray her, and it is to the point where she rarely trusts anyone for fear of this
Night Furies-
Nothing frightens Ramsey more than the mysterious night furies, the silent killers, the dragons who never miss
Ships-
Every since her parents abandoned her, Ramsey has always associated ships with abandonment, which has resulted in a fear of ships, and she refuses to even go near them
Never Being Good Enough-
Ramsey's belief that she wasn't good enough for her parents to keep has driven this internal fear of never being good enough for anyone, something that causes her to constantly pressure herself to train and get better, it also results on her being extremely tough on herself
Thunder-
Ramsey has mostly gotten over this fear, but she still equivalates thunder to when her parents abandoned her, and while this doesn't directly affect her, it tends to distract her, and making her more susceptible to being outwitted or defeated.
AMBITIONS:
-To be the best dragon slayer ever
-To rid the world of dragons
-To be the first to kill a Night Fury
-To be so good at archery that she never misses
-To prove herself worthy to the tribe
SECRETS:
-Despite her wanting nothing to do with her parents and never talk about them, she misses them, well the idea of them, and wants to know why they abandoned her
-While Ramsey does despise dragons, she is also somewhat fascinated by them, and uses them as inspiration for new weaponry (which she then uses to kill them)
OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Secretive-
Ramsey likes to keep her business private, and prefers to tell others as little as possible.
Fearless-
Ramsey is one of the first to charge into battle, and with respect to a few of her fears which she refuses to attempt to conquer, she is relatively fearless.
Hardworking-
Ramsey pushes herself as hard as she can, and is always willing to do the hard work necessary to get the job done or to become better at something.
Trustworthy-
While Ramsey trusts very few people, if you are someone she does trust she is extremely trustworthy and loyal, and will do anything to keep your trust and will go to great lengths to protect you.
Sarcastic-
Ramsey often resorts to sarcasm when she is upset or annoyed and is just generally sarcastic.
Focused-
Ramsey is a very focused person and once she is determined to do something, there is no distracting or stopping her.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Ramsey is rather short for a viking at the small stature of 5ft 2in, and at first glance does not look like an exceptional warrior. She has wavy long brown hair, which she generally keeps up in two long braids or the occasional ponytail. Her eyes are slightly larger than normal, and a deep chocolate brown color. On the rare occasions when Ramsey smiles she has dimples. Weight wise she weighs around 110 pounds, all pure muscle. While she doesn't look crazy muscular in appearance, instead her body is toned and lean. Ramsey has several scars along her arms and legs from years of training and fighting, however they are practically faded in comparison to the long scarred up gashes across her back and the long diagonal scar on the back of her neck. The one's on her back she got from training and fighting, but the one on the back of neck she had when she was abandoned. Clothing wise, Ramsey wears mostly gender neutral clothes such as tan, brown, or black pants with grey, tan, green or the occasional light purple shirts as well as either a black or brown jacket and dark brown boots. And in her right boot, Ramsey sewed a pouch into the inside of the boot for her to keep her hunting knife in.
PLAYBY: Hayley McFarland
HISTORY: It was raining. The water slammed against the boat, rocking it back and forth as the sleeping baby laid snug in it's mothers arms, unaware that would be the last day she would ever see her parents. Thunder rang out, causing the baby to awaken with a fright. That was the last and only memory Ramsey had of her parents, thunder was all she could recall, despite her many attempts. Her caretaker/guardian, Tarnic, said he had found her swaddled in a raggedy rain soaked blanket, laying there on the beach, wailing. He said he looked for her parents but no one was to be found, none of the people in the village knew whose she might be, and no one had spotted any boats, granted with all the stormy weather it was hard to tell. Tarnic brought her home with him, and as he held her in his arms (though one was a prothetic) softly telling her not to fear the thunder, that it was simply Thor waving his hammer, he felt attached to the young baby, and as soon as the next day requested for the chief to allow him to raise her as his own.
He had no children of his own, and never married, so this would give him the chance to be a father. New to parenting and never one to ask for assistance, Tarnic raised her as best he could, focusing on her battle skills and education, instilling in her the idea that a trained and intelligent warrior was a mighty warrior. From the time she could walk, most days were spent either studying or training, though Ramsey, as he decided to name her, began questioning her origins. Tarnic, never one to sugar coat, told her upfront that she was abandoned by her parents, left on the beach where he found her. This changed Ramsey, giving her a stronger drive to train and learn, though it also caused her to become less trusting and more secretive. She trusted Tarnic, just not anyone else.
Ramsey was 9 when she killed her first dragon, it was only a terrible terror, but to a 9 year old it might as well have been a Monstrous Nightmare. She was in the woods by Tarnic's hut, practicing her archery when it approached her. It didn't attack her at first, it was not until she pointed her bow at it that it attacked. Without hesitation, Ramsey let the arrow fly, striking the dragon through the head, killing it instantly. Tarnic was thrilled by what she had done, being a slayer of dragons himself, and it was because of the praise he gave her that Ramsey decided to slay dragons; she craved the affection and worthiness it seemed to bring her, something she felt she missed out on.
That was the same day she first learned of the night fury. Later that night, a terrible storm approached Hysteria, and while the thunder spooked her a little, it was the whistling sound that echoed throughout the sky that really frightened her. It came without warning and immediately following it was the boom of blast connecting with something, usually another hut. Tarnic identified the whistling noise as a Night Fury, the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself; the dragon that never misses. It was then that Ramsey's fear of the night fury was born, and her will to never miss was also created, her way of coping with the fear, by deciding to train to be just as powerful and accurate as the night fury. Ramsey's training has continued since then, and her weapon development also started, beginning with her crossbow, Fury of the Night, which she still continues to improve, trying to replicate the only dragon she fears.
FAMILY: Never met her parents, assumed that she has no siblings; Ramsey lives with Tarnic the Mighty, who was once a great warrior, but he lost his left arm in a fight with a dragon, leaving him to retire and take up the task of teaching new vikings how to fight and more importantly how to slay dragons; Tarnic found Ramsey when she was first abandoned, and raised her like his daughter
WEAPON OF CHOICE: Fury of the Night, her black, modified crossbow. Using sea glass, Ramsey made a looking tube that she attached to the top of the crossbow to help her aim, and she also rigged it so that it releases arrows at a high enough speed for them to make a sound similar to that of a night fury dive-bomb. Plus she has a variety of coated arrows; some are located with flightmare mist to induce paralysis, others are coated with Toxic Nightshade venom, which kills the target within 20 minutes.
FIGHTING STYLE: Varies, depending on the opponent. Against those bigger and stronger than her she depends more on speed and agility to outmaneuver her opponent, and uses her intelligence to outwit them. Against smaller more agile opponents, she depends on her weaponry and intelligence to try to be quicker and one step ahead. Against dragons, it changes based on the species.
