NAME: Terrible the Terror
--ALIASES: Terra, Terrible, TerrorAGE: 36
GENDER: Female
SPECIES: Stormcutter
RIDER: Katrina (Played by Pime2)
LIKES:
• Justice - Terrible has a sense of fairness that might equal that of a chief. If someone does something she disapproves of, she makes her opinion heard
• Perfection - Everything must have its place. If something seems 'off', she will try her hardest to make it right
• Cleanliness - Going hand-in-hand with her pride, she cannot stand her scales being the slightest bit dirty
• Respect - If you refuse to at least acknowledge her presence, you'll probably become her new chew toy
DISLIKES:
• Disobedience - While she couldn't care less about who obeys her commands, anyone who refuses to listen and show respect to her rider will immediately get on her bad side
• Touching - Unless it's Katrina, absolutely no one can touch her (without losing a limb at least)
• Sleeping on the ground - She doesn't care if she has no predators to worry about, she cannot sleep on the cold, hard ground. Instead, she finds a high branch to hang upside down. If, by some off chance, Katrina manages to climb high enough to reach her she'll happily cocoon the human in her wings
• Kids/Young dragons - To Terrible, they're only squealing, annoying messes that don't know any better
• The mere mention of babies - It only reminds her of her two daughters that left years ago
STRENGTHS:
•Maneuverability - Despite her size, she can easily avoid obstacles, both in the air and on the ground
• Virtually no blind spot - She can turn her head 180 degrees, easily covering any possible blind spot she could have
• Vigilant - Adding to the ability to turn her head all the way around, there is very little movement she doesn't notice within her vision
• Emotional shield - She never let's anyone see how they effect her. No matter what they say or do, she keeps up her normal, annoyed façade
WEAKNESSES:
• Her beauty - She sacrifices a good few hours a day to keep her prim and proper appearance. During these cleaning sessions, she's oblivious and could easily be snuck up on (It's the ONLY time you can sneak up to her)
• Mud - She hates the stuff. If she happens to be in a fight and gets even a minuscule amount on her, she needs to clean it... immediately
• Small dragons - She might be agile, but a group of terrible terrors would get the best of her (And give her bad flashbacks of her last traveling companion)
• Can't multitask - It's hard enough to move around with six appendages, never mind trying to do more than one thing at a time
AMBITIONS:
• Companionship - To find at least one being on Midguard that's worthy enough to be considered her friend
• Closure - She may be cold and distant towards her immediate family, but Terra would do anything to get on better terms with them
FEARS:
• Lasting injury - If it leaves a scar, or even just takes out a few scales, she'll be petrified on how it effects her appearance
• Her brother - After bullying him in her younger years, she's afraid of what he might think of her. She also worries what he could do to her if she was never forgiven for her actions
APPEARANCE:
•Eyes - She has bright yellow eyes that always seem to have wide, dilated pupils
•Scale Color - The specific color of her scales are difficult to determine when she's in direct sunlight due to the iridescence of them, but they are, in fact pale green. Along her underside though, her scales are tinted more to appear as a yellow-orange
•Head - Trademark of her breed, her crest consists of multiple layers. Both her frills and horns are a deep maroon red. As a female however, her horns are much smaller than any male counterparts
•Wings - As a stormcutter, she bears dark spots on both her sets of wings. These spots are the same color as her head crest and claws. The webbing underneath is a much lighter orange, making these spots more visible
•Spine - Jutting out along her back are sharp spines. Each and every single one of them match her crest, and fade to near neon green on their tips
•Tail - Just as any other stormcutter has, her tail doesn't just have two flaps, it has three, forming an upside down 'T'. While the appearance of her tail webbing nearly matches that of her wings, it does have more red spots
•Scars - Surprisingly, she has virtually no scars on her body. The only exception may be the everyday wear and tear on her feet and bottom wings from walking
•Other - When Katrina wants to go flying, she adorns a riding saddle. It isn't a very showy saddle, having only a leather seat and no back rest. The only reason for this is because if it were any bigger Terra will complain about being unable to turn her head around
PERSONALITY:
• Proud - She upholds her reputation by showing off her shimmering scales to anyone who comes close enough, usually by puffing up her chest or spreading her wings
• Egotistical - Rarely ever thinks about others before herself
• Lack of curiosity - She will not investigate new things even if Katrina does. However, she does keep a lookout for anything new that might be dangerous
• Shallow - She hones in on what she sees on the surface. Within the first minute of meeting someone, she decides whether or not they're worth her time
• Closed-minded - She's not the easiest to convince
• Tenacious - Terra cannot, for the life of her, lose in an argument, regardless if she's wrong
HISTORY:
-
Terrible hatched from her egg deep in the mountains, far from any humans. Her parents, like herself, were raised apart from the furless mammals, and grown to view them as a threat. Up until her younger sibling was born, Terrible was spoiled and always had her priorities dealt with before her own parents'.
Her parents are, no doubt, the cause of her vanity in later years. It didn't take long for her to take a disliking towards her new brother. Whenever the two were left alone, Terra was put in charge, as most older siblings usually are. You could easily say she was a bully towards him; taking every chance she got to put him in his place.
When the time came that her brother finally stood up against her, and WON, she couldn't take the resulting embarrassment, and ran away.
Along her new road of isolation, she's bumped into quite a few other dragon groups. She never stayed with any of them, mostly because they stopped complementing her on her looks. (Shallow, I know...)
There was one other dragon; a terrible terror, actually, that caught her interest. Now, anyone who's come into contact with one of these little dragons knows that they aren't that bright. So, to Terrible, having one of them constantly tell her how shiny her scales are or how colorful she was, wasn't all that bad at all.
In fact, she let the terror follow her on her journeys. Another purpose she gave the little dragon was cleaning duty. It was their job to clean Terra's crest, where she couldn't reach.
Often times, the terrible terror even foolishly acted as a guard dog for the stormcutter. Terra laughed at the sight of him doing such a thing. Anyone would, really. It wasn't something you saw everyday. Except Terra never appreciated the action until her little friend took his duty to protect her too far.
When a human happened to come across the odd couple, he didn't waste his time on getting a weapon. Terra's own reaction was to fly away from the danger, and she would've easily have gotten away, if not for the terrible terror flying straight for the human's face. He gave it his all, but his small size was his downfall.
As cold as Terra's heart is, hearing the terror's body practically snap as it hit a tree, a sad little whine left her as she flew away.
After that, while she adored getting praised, she didn't let anyone follow her.
She even caught sight of her brother years later. Obviously, he'd grown into an adult by then, and she stayed her distance from him and his new family.
More years pass with little to no flair for her. One breeding season proved to be successful for her and landed her with a mate. If she were to see him nowadays though, she'd avoid him, probably claiming that he wasn't worth her time anymore. A bit harsh, but for Terra, one hundred percent true. Becoming a mother was never on her bucket list to begin with.
Most of those who have met her would find it surprising if you told them Terra was a mother at some point in her life. She'd cared for her two daughters (Evergreen and Barkly) and she'd hated seeing them go, but in the end, they were just family members she could, and did, lose by the time they were old enough.
Terra left not long after they did, traveling once again like she did in her younger years. Nowadays, or course, she might have had a slight improvement to her character since she raised her daughters. While she's still appearance-oriented, she knows there's could be a different story underneath how someone looks on the outside. Whether she'll actually stay to find out is up for debate.
Another personality aspect she's gained from being a mother is being able to know everything that's going on around her, even when she isn't paying much attention.
Currently, Terra is far south from Berk, happily calling a tree-covered land her home, for now that is.
