Berk
Current Leader: Halldor Frodison
After the Heroic deeds with Hiccup 300 years ago, Berk has thrived, had it's ups and downs as it got used to co-existing with dragons, and dealing with neighbouring islands and enemies who had not yet begun to see the potential of training dragons. Berk is now a recognised name, and most islands and traders know of the little island. Now with their name on the map, the Berkians are receiving a lot of Outsiders on their shores, most of them good, but not all. Though most Vikings are welcoming (as long as they're not from an enemy island) to these visitors, some Berkians are wary and cannot trust these people at all, especially in their numbers.
Berk is a diverse land, comprising mostly of a rocky terrain sprinkled with lots and lots of trees. As most islands in the Archipelago, the island is surrounded by high cliffs and jagged rock formations. It is bountiful, providing plenty of mining veins for the villagers, wood, crops, livestock, and of course... Dragons. Dragons are not at the heart of the community and village life revolves almost entirely around them. Dragon Training is a necessity for young Vikings, even if they don't have one themselves yet, they need to know how to keep themselves safe from wild, uncontrollable dragons, and how to interact safely with tame dragons that inhabit the village.
Hysteria
Current Leader: Baldr Björg
A little distance south by sea to Berk are the twin isles of Hysteria and Villany. The former I much larger than Berk and indeed has multiple settlements on it, though they all still live under the rule of one chief, who lives in the central town based on the one bit of coastline which is hospitable enough for usage by boats of any kind. The island has no mountain, though it is built on a sort of plateau, and has a number of moors, forests and caves. It is known for holding Vikings of a much harsher type than on berk, as they have spent much of the last couple of decades hunting and killing dragons leaving none of Hysteria and only a dwindling number on Villany, though this was not the case before the reign of the previous chief, Hrothgar.
Once a proud island of dragon lovers similar to Berk, now there is not a Viking under the age of 25 that knows their ancestor’s relationship with dragons, let alone have anything but hate for the beasts themselves. Everyone over that age have come to either hate dragons for real or hide their true feelings lest they be found out and ostracised. These lands are dangerous for those who do not hold their hate and there have been many wars with Berk over the years, for many varying reasons. There is still a chance for the people of this land to return to their old ways, but with every passing year these chances dwindle, as there are fewer people who remember.
Red Rock
Puppet Leader: Averia Iovia
Actual Leader - Yvette Jooren
Many people north of the mainland's of Europe haven't a clue of where or what Red Rock is. Through it's troubled past, it has emerged into a prosperous and somewhat powerful nation, despite its small size. It can be described as 'One of the last civilized places you'll visit before you venture into the northern seas.' The government of the small nation is very controlling, having its hand in just about every affair you could think of, many people can not even leave through the mountain passes to the south without proper permission.
The city sits on the coast, backed with rolling fields of green before you reach large mountain ranges that separate the entire area from the mainland. The soil is fertile, the coasts are plentiful with fish, all types of ores are extracted from the mountains, and trade only furthers the wealth of the region. Many of those who raise and train with a dragon are either willing or forced to join the army to help protect themselves from future conflicts, or invoke them.
