OVERALL PERSONALITY: Silfry is a really calm girl that likes to see the world with a dreamer’s eyes, trying to be optimistic and search for that mythical pacific rainbow even in the darkest and most dangerous storm, what usually leads her friends to qualify her as naive or “Too innocent” in some cases. She hates fighting over what she considers superficial and unimportant stuff and will avoid these situations as much as possible, but if her point of view over something is mocked, insulted or rejected without reason she won’t simply stay with her arms crossed and her gaze in the ground, she will defend her point of view through pacifically talking and reason, it’s really rare for her to get infuriated enough to attack anybody, either verbally or physically, but she has her own limit and when it’s overpassed she can be quite impulsive and aggressive, though calming her down isn't that hard anyways.
She’s what most people will define as “A passionate girl”, since she usually follow her guts more than her brain in most of the cases, what sometimes can lead her into trouble, simply, sometimes following your raw emotions isn't that great. Usually she’s gentle and sweet towards the others, always showing care and worry for those around her, helping those in need as well as she can. She is extremely loyal and wouldn't hesitate to give up her life for a friend in need, usually putting other’s needs in front of hers, it isn't uncommon for her to run into trouble with her own needs, like starving herself when food is scarce to let her loved ones eat.
She’s a little too friendly and she holds very high the ideal of the second opportunity, forgiving easily and giving the one who may failed or hurt her a second chance, yet she isn't stupid, if whoever she gave that opportunity fail her a second time, recovering her trust for a third one will be extremely hard. Curious to the core, she likes to explore any new place she discovers, this causes her a lot of trouble, but luckily she never got anything bigger than a few scratches and bruises, at least not yet.
When bored, she may act in a childish way, even a little immature, annoying her friends a little to get rid of her own boredom or doing and/or saying silly things out loud, without even thinking them first, what leads to several embarrassing moments. She’s mostly submissive, rather following orders than ordering anything herself, though if the situation requires it, she would take the role of the leader, yet this shouldn't last too long, since otherwise she would start to feel uncomfortable, insecure or even start to over-stress herself out of nothing, what is completely the contrary to her usual laid-back and carefree nature. When she’s out of the previous situation she would always love to give an advice or two to anyone who needs it. She has serious troubles when making long term plans, since she usually ends up abandoning them, or even making a plan in general, but she’s excellent at improvising most of the time.
She loves riddles, and she always loves to make a riddle or two in her free time to later tell it to her friends, so they try to guess it. A little later she discovered her raw talent for drawing things that popped up in her mind, what leaded her to have a great talent at dying and painting other’s hair in humans, skin, scales or feathers for dragons, and quickly improved a lot in that area. Due to curiosity she started to learn to do the other kinds of body modifications. She currently only can do, out of the dying/painting, small to medium sized tattoos and simple piercings in ears and noses, not daring to try anything too complicated or big until she considers to have enough experience to do it. She doesn't likes the scarification and branding modifications very much, and would try to avoid them as much as possible, yet, she knows enough about it and can perform these if needed.
She’s also rebellious, liking to have thing in her own way most of the time, but she knows her limits and stills respects authority. She's also starting to learn Dragonese with Ironfang's help.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Silfry isn’t what you would rate as an outstanding girl when talking about how high she is, since her height barely reaches the 5'3" feet with a weight of 110 pounds, yet she doesn’t cares much about this fact, the reason of this can’t be really pointed out, since both her parents were normal-sized, the reason may be in previous generations though, but since none of her grandparents is known this theory can’t be proved.
Her body built is focused on agility, speed and stamina, being slender and flexible, unluckily this same build makes her have a serious disadvantage to everything related to her physical strength, in other words she isn't that strong and she needs to rely in other abilities if she’s forced to have a close ranged combat. Her movements are usually elegant and graceful, as well as quite fast, her movements may seem to be randomly made, but they aren't, though this is good to confuse any opponents.
Her hair it’s a little mess, though luckily plain, so it doesn’t puffs up like a lion’s mane, but no matter how much she brushes it, the rebellious hair will be as messy as it would be if she hadn’t done anything to it in an hour or two, so she now simply brushes it enough to avoid any knots and it’s done. Her hair has a light brown coloration with several natural blonde highlights, a color that matches perfectly her peach colored skin. It has a shiny silver coloration on the front, this metallic coloration is obviously not natural to her hair, so it becomes quite obvious that she died her hair to look that way. Her eyes have an ice-blue color, bordered by a silver ring at the border of the iris, not big enough to become the main color, but neither small enough to be unnoticeable, her eyes have an innocent and playful gleam in them all the time, a nice touch to the already interesting color.
She likes to wear a lose long sleeved black shirt and lose black pants with a couple of decorations here and there (Like the borders) in a silver color, since she hates to feel like if the clothes restricted her movements, she also uses a pair of light gray fur boots and a vest with the same coloration, she really hates tight clothes and dresses, you’ll never EVER see her wearing one of those. She also wears a pair of black leather bracelets with spikes and a metal helmet with horns that look a lot like her dragon’s.
HISTORY: Born and raised in Berk, Silfry got into dragons fairly quickly, she always wanted her own dragon, but there was a problem, all the dragons in the village were already claimed, and if that wasn’t enough, she had a huge fear towards heights, as she discovered when climbing to a really high tree that grew right next to her house when she was still little. She got stuck on the higher branches for hours until a storm arrived, her parents tried to convince her to get down, but she couldn’t, it was then when a lighting struck the tree, throwing her to the ground, what caused her to start fearing lighting, she barely survived and had to spend almost a whole week in bed to recover. It was then when she decided to start exploring by herself, with hopes of finding the dragon that would allow her to be his or her rider, and even if she didn’t, her curiosity towards dragons was pushing her towards the forests of the island, promising her knowledge and discoveries that the rest of the Vikings hadn’t made yet.
Her parents weren’t very happy with their child’s adventurous nature, trying to make her stay at home, she can even remember the speeches that they gave to her about how dangerous the wild dragons could be, and that she wanted a dragon she had to wait until she entered in the dragon academy, so the older Vikings would give her one of the dragons that they kept there, one of the common basic dragons that, as the legends said, were of the same species that once belonged to the friends of the first dragon rider, Hiccup, just like they did to any Viking in training that went to the academy without a dragon of their own when they were ready. This didn’t caused the desired reaction, Silfry didn’t had anything against those dragons, but she simply felt that….those weren’t meant for her, it was one of those feelings that you simply can’t explain, you simply know it.
Yet, she couldn’t do much against her parents’ orders, much to her dismay, as they kept a keen eye on her each time that she tried to get out of the house, and even more when she reached the borders of the village, forcing her to return, even at night. She couldn’t blame them though, her father once got in a struggle with a grumpy wild Deadly Nadder, the scars of the fight still remained on his chest and back, when he was trying to tame it, that lit a flame of fear towards the wild dragons by part of her parents, a fear that couldn’t be pushed away even by the friendly dragons that surrounded them, if her daughter was meant to have a dragon, they wanted to make sure that said dragon was already tamed by the current dragon riders.
There was one day on her childhood when she stumbled across a large crowd, that was reunited around the chief and a man that she couldn’t really identify. She heard that the guy did terrible things, and though over the years she forgot what exactly he did he still could remember the expressions of hate and disgust on the villagers faces, and the swears and curses that the chief had to stop before keep talking. She asked her parents what was going on, and they explained her about banishment, how people who did terrible things were kicked out from Berk forever, with the threat of killing them if they dared to return. They, as any parent wanting to avoid their children to do what they considered wrong, started to mix true with fiction in a very smart way, telling her that the ones banished turned into savages, went insane, and other kind of stuff like this. They achieved they goal of scaring their kid, and overpassed it accidentally with their stories. Since that day Silfry is afraid of banishment, this also becoming one of her biggest fears.
It was when she was returning from a hard day in the academy, when she was 13 years old, when she finally managed to escape from her parents’ gaze and run deep in the forest without them knowing, she found a weakness in their plan and she was ready to use it in their favor, she had taken the work of messenger around the village to earn some extra money, since her parents told her that she needed to work to get what she wanted, and consequently never gave her a single coin, all the money that she spent, was earned by herself, and this work allowed her to travel without her parents checking on her all the time, this was a chance that she simply couldn’t let go. For five days she explored the forest in the limited time that this gave to her, but she was still unable to find a dragon, and the time was growing short, her graduation as a full Viking was near, and with it the dragon that her mentors would pick for her, most of the dragon rider students already had their own dragons or were excited about the fact of getting one from their mentor, but not her. The sixth day was when the luck finally smiled at her….in a rather creepy and odd way.
She was in one of the coldest parts of the island, sitting on the floor that started to get full of ice thanks to the lows temperatures, her back resting against a tree with her lunch in her hands, a nice meat sandwich that she made for herself that morning before going to the academy. But as soon as she was about to give the first bite to it a deep growl made her turn her head, noticing a Sabertoothed dragon walking towards her, his long fangs bared in a threatening way and wings half-unfolded. She was frozen in her place, feeling the cold glare of the dragon piercing her, like two daggers made of pure ice. It took her a while to notice that one of his fangs was broken and looked really bad, and the obvious bad state in which he was in, she never had seen a dragon that thin before in her life, and his fur was all dirty and messed up.
She gulped hard, making that lump in her throat that the scare had created go down before standing up slowly and carefully. The dragon growled, making her hesitate for a couple of seconds, then she slowly handed the sandwich at him. The dragon growled at first, pulling his head backwards a little, like expecting a hit or something like that, but as it never came he slowly and carefully took a step forwards and opened his mouth to take the meat, his eyes locked on Silfry’s, but just as he was about to take the sandwich from her, his broken fang touched it, making him yowl in pain and take several steps backwards, whimpering loudly, in an attempt to ease the pain he liked the fang, but it only caused him to yawl again, Silfry was sure that, if the dragon could cry, he would be crying in pain at the moment. She got closer once more, only wanting to see the dragon’s teeth closer, only to have to dodge the dragon’s claws, falling to the ground while doing so.
She returned to the same spot for three days, always finding the dragon, his state was getting worse each day, but she couldn’t do much, each time she tried to give her food, the dragon’s injured fang got in the way, making him retreat, yet, she came up with a solution, with a dagger that she brought with her as protection she cut the meat to small bits, and threw them to the dragon one by one. The small size of the bits of meat avoided the contact with the fang, allowing the dragon to eat for first time in only Thor knows how long. From that day on Silfry usually took food from the huge reserves that the dragon riders had, their dragons didn’t needed all that food and they always got the same amount everyday anyways, but the wild Sabertooth needed it, desperately. Then she simply had to cut it to small enough pieces and throw them at him, until one day, for the very first time since they met, the dragon allowed her to hand-feed him without the risk of having her hand bitten off or clawing her.
It only took her three days after that to convince the dragon to follow her to the village, where she took him to the dragon dentist immediately. What said Viking told her took her off-guard, the toxins on the dragon’s saliva infected the broken fang and the dragon was lucky that the infection hadn’t expanded to the rest of his mouth, there was no way to fix it, they would have to pull it out as soon as possible. Silfry distracted the dragon with a piece of salmon, cooked just as the dragon liked it, his absolute favorite, she had discovered this one day when trying different ways of feeding him. This allowed the dentist to pull out the fang with a quick movement, she had never heard any dragon yowl like that before, what made her felt guilty. It took five Vikings and three dragons to hold down the Sabertoothed dragon down, allowing the dentist to finish his work, putting an special iron fang in the place that the original fang, as lethally sharp as the other and fireproof to allow fire breathing without problems.
Once they released him the dragon flew away almost immediately, obviously not wanting to get more pain caused to him. The next day Silfry returned to the place where she had seen the dragon for the very first time, she wasn’t expecting to see him after what happened the other day, so it was obvious her surprise when she saw the same dragon, with his shiny new fang, walk towards him with a dead wild boar hanging from his powerful yaws. He dropped it in front of Silfry, and looked at her, when she noticed that she didn’t do anything he lowered his head and pushed it gently towards her, Silfry looked at it and took out her dagger, cutting some chunks of meat of it and putting them over some fire that she quickly lit, so they could get cooked and they could eat.
As they waited their eyes got locked on each other’s. With a deep breath Silfry extended a hand, ready to pull it away if he noticed any hostile action coming from the dragon, but as her hand landed on the dragon’s muzzle, instead of biting or clawing her, the dragon lowered his head and rubbed himself against her in an almost cat-like behavior. With a wide smile Silfry hugged the big dragon’s head as the smell of cooked meat reached their noses, dinner was ready.
Her parents weren’t pleased at all when she returned with Ironfang, the name that she decided to give to her dragon in honor of what leaded her to bond with him in the very first place, but they didn’t had any other option but accept the fact that Ironfang was her daughter’s new dragon, and that none of them was willing to let the other go. The first thing that Silfry did was to give him a good bath, and once he was clean and, after some time, he returned to his normal height, he was a whole new dragon. She graduated with her new friend and companion, immediately starting to practice flying and several tricks in mid-air, she trusted her dragon, knowing the he would never let her get hurt, and while flying on his back the fear towards heights vanished. Since that day she likes to explore Berk and the islands near to it, wanting to discover new things, new dragons, and maybe make a couple of new friends in the way to reaching her goal. Since she got her dragon she also can make message deliveries to other islands if they ask her to do so.
WEAPON OF CHOICE: Bow and arrows, as well as her shield and her dragon’s fire, she also carries a sword and a couple of daggers, just in case, she really don’t likes to use these though, since she had never been good at short ranged combat.
FIGHTING STYLE: She likes to keep her distance, the more the better, attacking with arrows and throwing knives and daggers if needed, her accuracy is quite impressive, no matter how far the target is. When she’s forced to have a close ranged combat her main strategy is to hit and flee, she doesn’t haves the enough strength to cause any potential damage or blocking effectively most hits, so she prefers to avoid being within her opponent’s reach.
DRAGON NAME: Ironfang
DRAGON TYPE: Sabertooth Dragon
DRAGON APPEARANCE: Ironfang is a 5'9" feet tall Sabertooth dragon, though he apparently hadn’t stopped growing, since Silfry can swear that he was smaller when she first met him. His fluffy and silky fur is of a light grey coloration, with some darker stripes along his back, tail and paws, these are single and slightly wide stripes, not like those of the tigers, and have irregular edges, like if someone drew those stripes on him with a pencil when he was a newborn, tried to stay within the line, but failed miserably at it in the end. She has some smaller and thinner stripes on his face, more specifically on the sides, on top of his head and muzzle and right under his eyes. His belly and muzzle are of a snow white coloration. His body build is fairly muscular, and he doesn’t tries to hide this fact in the slightest, standing with pride and holding his head high at all times. His wide and powerful paws stomp the ground, in a firm and strong way of walking that also has a small tint of elegance, like if he ruled the world. His claws are always sharp as daggers, and he shows his powerful fangs in a threatening way, like challenging the dragons around him to come closer and fight him if they have the guts to do it at all.
He shows his iron fang with pride, letting the sun make it shine like if it was a mirror, he even learned to use it in his advantage, using the reflection that it could produce to distract other dragons or directing it to their eyes to blind them temporarily, his eyes are of an aquamarine color, shinning with the beauty of a diamond, sometimes his eyes look green or blue instead of its natural color thanks to the way that the light lands on them. The fur around his neck and on top of his head is slightly longer than the rest of his fur, what makes him look like if he had a small lion-like mane with the same colors of his normal fur. When Silfry is riding him he wears a light and flexible saddle on his back, so he can move freely without any kind of restriction or unnecessary weight. The saddle is made of leather that had been dyed of a dark gray color, having designs dyed in lighter tones to add an elegant yet beautiful touch to it. Some metal has been added to the saddle as ornamentation, mostly because the dragon didn’t felt that the chair was good enough for him unless it had the required level of detail and ornamentation that he thought right, not letting anyone put the saddle on until he gave his approval.
DRAGON PERSONALITY: Ironfang is a really proud dragon, always keeping his head held up high and a straight posture, puffing up his fur to look more threatening. He is really stubborn, and won’t do anything if it’s against his will. If he finds a dragon or a Viking that he feels that is challenging or offending him in any possible way, he will immediately get into an offensive pose and will act in a really aggressive way until he defeats the dragon or Viking in a battle. If he is hit, even by accident, he will always hit back, doubling the strength of the hit that he got, this can be a trouble, especially for his rider, since it can drag them into fights that otherwise would be easy to avoid. If he’s defeated in battle he would be ashamed, having such a big pride hurt can make anyone upset, and he will seek revenge on whoever defeated him, he won’t rest until he reclaims the victory that was stolen from him.
His temper is as volatile as the gas of a Hideous Zippleback, it doesn’t takes much effort to make him angry, and the angrier he is, also the more dangerous, as he will attack whoever made him angry without any warning or hesitation, and if he’s angry enough he won’t be able to control his strength, what can lead easily to a lethal fight. The only way to avoid one of these fights or actually calming him down is by the direct intervention of his rider, and even in this cases Silfry haves trouble to stop her angry companion from hurting others. He can’t stand jokes or pranks easily, as he can see these as an offense or a challenge when their intention is completely different from this.
He’s extremely loyal and protective of his beloved ones, if he sees them in danger he will do anything to save them, even if by doing so his pride could end hurt, but he won’t admit this easily, keeping the profile of the mighty and prideful dragon over his gentle and loyal one as much as possible. He is a little possessive over his loved ones, always demanding their attention and admiration, if they ignore them for too long he will start to mess up with them in any way possible until they focus on him once more. He’s quite smart and likes to plan things before doing or saying them, except when he’s angry, then he’s is really unpredictable. He doesn’t likes to communicate through signs and corporal messages only, so he’s trying to teach Dragonese at Silfry each time he can.
DRAGON TECHNIQUES: Ironfang is very skilled in the air, and he isn’t afraid of showing it, so he usually is doing any kind of trying and aerial shows, even when these aren’t unnecessary, you can say that he’s a true show-off. His long and sharp claws are as deadly as his fangs, and he will use them if needed, his strength making him a perfect close range combat dragon. He can breathe a green fire, by himself his accuracy isn’t that great, don’t tell him that if you don’t want a dragon trying to bite your head off though, but when Silfry is ridding him, she fixes this, guiding his shots, giving them an almost perfect accuracy. He also has a really toxic saliva, so a bite from him can be lethal if not cleaned immediately.
