Clockwork strode into the arena, rather down about the last fight he'd been in. He lost so horenously, and could have been killed. He lowered his head and took a drink from the trough.
" your not giving up that easily are you?" a voice called from his blind side. The metal dragon didn't quite jump, but did seem abit startled that someone was there.
"one defeat and your giving up? What if he comes after you again? Or worse. Comes after your rider."Clockwork eventualy found the source of the voice, comming from the teacher. Saxi. The one teacher everyone loathed. He was stern and somewhat mean. However, he was being nice this time. He was wiping down his swords, what intresting weapons they were. Most viking had large heavy swords, but Saxi's were made diffrently. They were thin and light, but razor sharp. Their edges did the cutting rather than the weight of the sword.
"Im an old man, Saxi. I can't win this fight." clockwork sighed. He wasn't rediculously old, but still he had some age behind him. "he's just too strong. He's going to end me before I even have the chance to get decently healthy." Clockwork growled in irritation. Never had he ever felt so helpless against another dragon. Sure he'd won spars, but this dragon wanted to kill him. And he had the artilery to do it.
"soooo. Your not going to try at all? No training? No putting up a fight?" Saxi looked up from his sword, setting it back in the holsters at his thighs. The metal dragon remained silent. Perhaps just waiting to be killed wasnt the right thing to do... Prehaps fightinh actualy was the awnser this time.
"but where will the training come from? I need a trainer.Honnestly, I'm scared. Everything rides on me killing him. If I die more will die. I- A loud metalic noise sliced the air as Saxi's sword swung inches from the dragon's face.
"Enough." Saxi intreupted. His thin blade barely a centimeter from Clocky's nose. "You have no choice but to fight. Thats been established. But how you fight has not been. That fear of losing needs to go, its going to do nothing but hold you back. I love dragons but do not under any cercumstances underestimate me. If I fought like the others here on this island then I wouldn't be the man I am today. If I had no tattoos it wouldn't mean I was nice. And If you think my training is going to be easy on you, you are dead wrong. You will feel like you are on deaths door, and at times you will be. You will bleed and suffer for months before you actualy do fight but I will asure you, that demon is not doing the same. He's out there gorging himself on dragonflesh with no one to stop him but you. You stand between him and everyone else. Youve seen how he fights, and I'm going to help you beat him. I make myself clear?" Saxi's voice had remained completely serine. He didnt raise his voice at all, witch might have made him abit more terrifying. He sheathed his sword.
"We start now." He muttered. Sliding a bridle onto Clockwork and jumping on his back.
Saxi started him in a smooth trot twice around the ring for a warm up, but then stopped him and pulled back harshly on the reighns, pulling low. The Dragon began backing up, forced to follow the pressure. What was all this for? Saxi kicked his sides, wich instinctualy told Clockwork to lunch forward, but the second he did the reighns were unlovingly popped in his mouth causing pain. He screeched, throwing his head and partialy rearing up, spreading his wings.
"Back." Saxi growled with another harsh pop. Clocky settled and continued going backwards, faster and faster, untill his muscles hurt. Saxi then released the pressure and let him bound forward, then signaled for a sidestep. Normaly sidestep was done in a walk, but saxi kept urging him to move faster.
now then. Warm up is over. Im going to teach you a combonition strike. Saxi got off the now panting dragon. land one of these hits and you'll beable to string together the rest and return to defenseive before your oponent can do you any severe harm or recover from the blow. But be warned. Do not miss. The last part was said with emphasis.
"the combo is a left swing of the horns to the lower chest, a right swip of the horns to the base of the neck, then spin and slam your tail across his face. But the first swing is essential. Miss and your dead.now try it. the scarred dragon just stared. He wanted him to try it on his dragon? He just stared at subzero, who was poised in the perfect defensive pose. He started with the left swing, but Sub-zero had stepped back, causing clocky to miss.
Punish him. Saxi ordered his dragon. Clockwork was promptly struck in the side with Sub-zero's horns. Not hard enough to cause serious damage, but enough to hurt.
"Again." he ordered, watching from ontop of a barel, still cleaning his swords.
