OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Aharon is one of those very down to earth individuals but young at heart. He enjoys hard work and the feeling of being productive. Because of that he quells at the thought of being otherwise and so if he ever catches eye of anyone struggling to do a job or need help then he is one of the first to jump in to aid them. As consequence, he sometimes fails to think the scenario all the way through. It has left him almost dead on his feet many times and though he might complain, he does genuinely love his job.
Despite being a small bit of a workaholic, Aharon does enjoy the leisurely things in life. He is sometimes a kid in a large man’s body especially when he is out exploring. Along with that piece of persona also resides the fact that the man cannot lie. It’s true, he is an absolutely horrible liar and wears all of his emotions out on his sleeves. His facial expressions are entertaining to watch especially when he doesn’t like something. He is a happy fellow, however, and it’s not uncommon to see him with a big grin upon his features
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Aharon is quite not the picture one might expect when someone mentions ‘Viking’. He is not quite as thick and stocky as many men in his village but he still holds that powerful presence. He stands at a solid six foot with a compact but strong frame to fit it. He has a well built chest, strong arms, powerful back, narrow waist, and cheesy grin to top it all off. His hands are thickly calloused by his tools and sword alike but he does not mind them. He does have a few scars on his arms and legs from either training or dragon alike but they are old and faded with time signaling that he was younger and stupider when such accidents had happened.
His coloring is earthy but he does still have most of the traditional attributes of his Viking heritage. He has dark brown hair, almost black, and maintains it a little past his shoulders on most occasions. It is tied back normally in a low pony tail and a strip of braided leather keeps stray wisps of hair out of his face. He is typically clean shaven and stays that way if at all possible.
His clothes are typical with thick trousers, tunics, and the normal like to deal with the cold Berk weather but they are always well kept and neatly patched if damaged. He does have a very finely made belt (of his own hand) that has been delicately tooled. If you ever get close enough to look then you can make out different breeds of dragons entertaining together. The same pattern extends to cover his sheath that he uses for his sword. In the harsher winter months, it is not uncommon to see him donning a thick fur lined coat with a massive hood to protect his head from winter’s bite.
HISTORY:
Aharon was born on Berk like so many others. His father was a smith and his mother worked in the Academy. Both were young but still very much in the honeymoon phase of their marriage even after being married for ten years and already having several children. Never the less, Aharon was born in mid spring and was a happy child amongst the rest of the village and grew up between the legs of Dragons and his parents. It was a happiness that ultimately didn’t last.
Ferrick passed away suddenly after a physical altercation with another villager after an argument had boiled over in to blows. What made matters worse was the fact that a three year-old Aharon had been witness to it. Such an event scared him for life and ultimately helped to mold Aharon in to the man he would become. As consequence, the young man has never been one for confrontation and the mere thought of taking human or dragon life makes him queasy. He will literally do anything possible to avoid such a thing, even at the cost of his own body, but he acknowledges that his life is ultimately worth fighting for and there is only do so much he can do before he has to draw his weapon to protect himself.
During adolescence, as was tradition, Aharon was enlisted in the Academy and so trained hard to learn all that was to offer. Physical training had never bothered the young man, swordfighting in particular, but Dragonese was a whole other ball of wax. It hit something in the young man and he worked hard to master it. Granted ‘mastering’ and actually being understood were two things all together as Aharon’s entire class learned. It took some people years to learn how to curl the tongue correctly or tighten the throat appropriately for certain words. Aharon, thankfully, was not one of those but he was certainly no protégé for it.
It wasn’t until he was nearing his fifteenth year that he even met his future Dragon partner. Exploring had always been a part time activity for the young Viking and so it was not unheard of him sneaking away after lessons and head off in to the thick woods for a bit of fun and a good chance to get dirty. That was where he met a Hobblegrunt that would ultimately become his friend and partner. It only took a lot of food and some patience.
It started off innocently enough with Aharon first finding him asleep on a boulder. The young man did his best to position himself downwind and began the process of drawing the Hobblegrunt. He failed to realize that the wind had changed direction and that he had been discovered. Fear choked him in his throat as he saw the Hobblegrunt advancing upon him as red and purple colors rippled across his scaly skin. One wrong move and Aharon knew that he was as good as kindling. All he could do was try to appear as unthreatening as possible.
“//No danger. No hurt.//” was all Aharon could squeeze out as the Hobblegrunt’s teeth were mere inches from his face and the jeweled eye looked him over. It was a tense first few minutes before curiosity seemed to get the better of the Dragon and he took to exploring Aharon as best he could. All of which included staring at the journal, nibbling a few buttons off his jacket, and eating all of his lunch. For the next couple of weeks, Aharon returned back to that clearing every day and the process repeated itself but yellow began to overtake more and more of the red as time ticked on.
The rest became history.
Aharon affectionately named the Hobblegrunt Hookclaw and the Dragon became a welcomed part of the village. It was a good life especially that of a Viking-in-training and Aharon finished out the rest of his schooling with relative ease. Life became more interesting after he finished out school and began to work in the leather shop alongside of his new step-father. It was there that he learned his talents in the trade and became very successful in his apprenticeship. Since then he has gone on to take a large portion of the shop’s work and has even been doing hired commissions for the past two years.
Not a bad life for a Viking.
WEAPON OF CHOICE: A “Viking” sword aka a Spartha Sword- a long sword with a round pummel end of the hilt. It is relatively simple in design with few adornments even though its sheath is nicely decorated. It is well taken care of although it hasn’t seen much action beyond training.
FIGHTING STYLE: Aharon’s fighting style is centered more around disbarment of an opponent rather than the death of said person. He is very good though and utilizes both punches and kicks in his fighting style rather than relying upon strictly his sword although it does act as a good distraction piece.
DRAGON
NAME: Hookclaw
TYPE: Hobblegrunt
APPEARANCE: Relatively normal body style for a Hobblegrunt although he is a bit larger than most. It is his height and overall larger girth that helps to hide the extra weight that he has gained from Aharon’s periodic treats. His rosette spots are a deep blue color and stand out sharply no matter what tint his hide takes.
PERSONALITY: Very curious and a happy dragon. He doesn’t speak much and can sometimes have a bit of a shy demeanor when faced with pretty women. He is an oversized puppy though once you get to know him.
STRENGTHS: Quick on his feet, keen eye sight, empathetic to other people and dragons, hard worker
WEAKNESSES:Not a lot of endurance, has to take periodic rests during long flights, cannot see well during twilight times but makes up for that with his sensitive frill,
