Scauldron
Physical Description: Scauldrons are behemoths of the sea. They are huge and long. Their heads are long and narrow - the main feature is the great bill, like a pelican's for scooping up large amounts of fish(and vikings!) at at a time. They have no headpiece like post dragons, but instead nubs or plates of scales along their jawline,as well as 2-4 long antenna. Their bellies are naturally bloated- storing boiling water, ready to strike against threats and enemies.
Typical Behaviour: Patient and organised strategists, Scauldrons are one of few dragons that actually prey on other dragons. They tend to hunt in groups, or pods, and have picked off smaller water-dwelling dragons to near-extinction. Scauldrons rarely leave the water for long, and are not known to attack on land. They are the original sea monsters!
Abilities: Scauldrons have a boiling hot water attack, which they scoop up water into their gullet, and heat up before spewing out again. They are strong swimmers, using their wings and tails to propel them in the water. A scauldron's venom is toxic and can create huge swellings in the human body - but it also used as an ingredient to save dragons from the poisonous dragonflower plant.
Drawbacks: If a Scauldron is out of water too long, they can dehydrate, or be crushed by their own weight. Their short legs aren't great for walking on land, so they can't run or walk long distances. Without access to water, it cannot use it's projectile attack.
Training Methods: The best way to befriend a Scauldron is to douse yourself with sea-water, and they will be reminded of home.
Habitat: Scaulldrons live exclusively in open waters of the sea, typically in groups.
Diet: They have a varied died of plants, fish, small dragons and vikings.
