Snapptrapper
Physical Description:
The Snaptrapper is a unique dragon in the rather obvious fact that it has four heads. They are related to the Hideous Zippleback. Each head has it's lower jaw split in two, which can open individually. Their maws are lined with teeth and their tongues are split into three tendrils, long with a bulb at the the end of each one, that resemble the stamen in plants and flowers. They have a pair of short antennae on the backs of each of their heads, instead of horns. Down their backs they have leaf-shaped spines that run down all the way to the tail. Their tail usually ends up in a different colour to the rest of their body, usually the colour of their secondary markings, and splits into two parts. They are usually spotted, but can come in other colours. They are most often coloured green to blend in with their natural habitat. They have broad, but short wings. This means, like their cousins, are mostly ground dwellers.
Typical Behaviour:
While as beautiful and serene as an exotic flower upon first blush, the four-headed Snaptrapper is actually one of the most insidious and deadly dragons ever discovered. They will lay in wait for days in hiding hoping to lure unsuspecting prey to their jaws.
Despite their deadly technique, they enjoy the rain and playing in the mud.
Abilities:
They breathe a methane mist.
Hence their name, Snaptrappers have an incredible jaw strength.
Because they look so much like plants, they are the masters of disguise.
They are incredibly patient. They will wait for days, motionless, waiting for food.
They emit alluring scents from their jaws, to attract prey. Equally, they can emit foul odour to deter potential threats as well! The scent is a notorious dragon-repellant.
Drawbacks:
Unlike their Zippleback cousins, no head can create a spark, however. This makes their methane mist useless, unless used against a dragon likely to use it's fire, or man-made objects.
Each head has it's own personality. If they are not in agreement, their body may stall out, become uncoordinated. In some cases they may bicker and inflict pain among each other.
Training Methods: They enjoy mud massages and water fights. Show them you can make "rain" and they will probably like you a lot.
Habitat: Most wooded areas. More common in tropical settings, but they have been spotted on Berk and in the Archipelago as well.
Diet: They are not picky.
