Sand Wraith
Physical Description: Similar in body and wing shape to the night fury, this dragon has more spines, along it's head and wings. The spines are thinner and longer, and all considerably sharper. It also has two large 'thumb' claws on it's wings.
It's head is flatter, and ends more pointed likely to aid in burying itself. And instead of having sails at the end of their tails, there are more thick spikes.
Overall the dragon is covered in brown tones, it's spines fading to a far darker almost blake shade, while it's wings sport lighter spotting.
Typical Behaviour: Rarely seen, this dragon lurks beneath the sand. At the first sign of movement, it will leap out and grab whatever unlucky thing happened to walk by. Should it be food, the dragon has been known to bury it and save it for later.
Abilities:
- This dragon is an expert in camouflage, and will bury itself in the sand. It does this to keep cool, and surprise prey from below.
- They can sense vibrations and disturbances in the sand, allowing them to judge the rough size and weight of what is above them.
- It also posesses a fairly standard fire blast attack.
Drawbacks:
- Spending most of it's time below the sand it's vision isn't the greatest.
- It relies more on stealth and hiding than actual tactics in battle.
Training Methods: The hardest part of training this dragon, is getting it out of the sand long enough to do anything else. Whatever you do, be quick about it. You don't want to waste this dragons time, as it will literally leave you in the dust should you not prove important enough for it to spend any further time with.
Habitat: Sandy shorelines and beaches.
Diet: Small mammals, birds, on rare occassions fish.
