A New Home for the Cheftain son of Harangard [Open]

Long was the travel from Harangard to Berk, several days and nights were carefully planned for a safe travel to the home of friendly Dragons in order to meet his fellow Vikings, and to formally greet the fellow chieftain of Berk, representain himself as Chief of Harangard. Tyr Hakon read the book of legends over, and over again regarding the Hiccup and Toothless, the young chieftain son's mind span with many questions. What really happened to Hiccup? How did he befriend a dragon? Can Tyr Hakon become a far better chief than his father and befriend a dragon for his own? Having faith and determination in himself, Tyr Hakon would prove that he can bring order and peace back to Harangard from the Dragons.

Then the boat stopped, Tyr Hakon I emerged quickly from the bedchambers that donned in the smooth silk, that they have arrived at Berk. The young man marveled at the sheer size of the City Port, that spread far and wide, and from where Tyr Hakon was, they looked as though they can go on for miles. "At last, here we are. Berk, the home where heroes and legends are born." Tyr Hakon said with much delight, as he patted the boat driver on the shoulder for a job well done, the driver smiled at Tyr Hakon's politeness. "Let us be swift, it is not best to keep the chieftain waiting." Tyr Hakon I spoke lightly, and would leave the ship, as he would finally enter the docks on his own feet, stretching his arms and legs. "Aaaaah...Such clean, fresh air..."

[Fern & Nima]

The young girl, aged only sixteen, made her way through Berk with her dragon at her side. Every so often, her dragon would nip at her heels to make her go faster; for humans moved very slowly, in her opinion. And every so often, Fern would reach back and scratch her chin, until at last she climbed onto her back. "Let's go for a ride, shall we girl?" She said in a chipper voice, to which her dragon crooned and spread her wings wide. In one swift motion, the dragon flapped her wings and pushed off the ground, lifting her talons to tuck underneath her tail. Fern clung to the handles of her saddle, letting a shrill yip of excitement. Her dragon let out her own screech, firing a blast in her own rush of emotions.

Fern peered down from where she sat. Ah, Berk. Beautiful, yet cold; the air had a crisp freshness to it that none could match, especially at such high altitudes. Smiling, she looked back at the village, and it was as she turned back around she noticed something below; a ship! Swiftly, she pulled back to have Nima hover, and as her dragon obliged she peered down. The ship had come to Berks shores. Curious, she looked to her dragon before eyeing the ship, "Well, what do you think girl? Think its worth investigating?" She said, smiling a little. Her dragon chirped shrilly and she nodded, "Lets have a look, then." She said softly, and together the duo swooped down, landing at the shore.

Running a few paces, Fern hopped off before Nima had even stopped completely. Fern stumbled a few paces yet regained composure quickly, brushing back a lock of fiery red hair as she looked around herself. Then she saw it; the ship... and atop that ship was a man, perhaps around her age, stepping onto the docks. She heard him speak but couldn't make out what he said. Quickly, she ran over with a small smile forming, "Oh, umm.. Hi!" She said softly, looking at him curiously, "Welcome to Berk. I'm Fern; Fern Rosewood... and... you are...?"

Just then, Tyr Hakon felt a great wind gushing in the sky. The young Chieftain son looked up, and could not believe his eyes: Vikings really ARE riding Dragons. "By Odin's beard, the stories of Hiccup and Toothless were true!" Tyr Hakon exclaimed to himself, looking all over the area, turning around in a circle. His mind was in such a daze, hoping to ask the people on Berk so many questions as to how did they really manage to befriend dragons.

Then, he spotted a more peculiar, yet strange  site, and it was heading straight for him! Forzen by his nerves, Tyr Hakon stood his ground when the chieftain's son saw the purple Deadly Nadder, and gazed at it's charm and beauty. "Whoooah... Such a marvelous creature..." Tyr Hakon said, as he slowly reach out, in hopes to gently touch the Deadly Nadder on the nose. That was until he spotted a girl jumping off from the dragon, that caused his reactino to pull back. The young man saw Fern, and quite dumb strucked by her gorgeous looks, perhaps a little on the skinny side to his slight dissatisfaction, for always being a fan of a more plump yet developed woman, but her red hair and gorgeous face was enough to let that slide.

With rosy cheeks forming on his face, and his nervs rising. his hands started to shake, responding quickly to hide them in his pockets. "Oh, erm hello there." Tyr Hakon greeted back in a sheepish manner. "I thank you for your welcome. My name is Tyr Hakon, the first of my name. I am the Chieftain son of Tyr Ingrad The brave of Harangard."

[Fern & Nima]

Fern dismounted from Nima and had come to greet the newcomer, when she noticed he had outstretched his hand to her dragon. What happened next was common on Berk, but something she wasn't sure how he'd respond to; her dragon, Nima the Deadly Nadder, reached forward and pressed her nose into his hand. However, when he pulled back, she pulled back abruptly as well, screeching as the sudden removal of his hand had startled her. Fern ran over and patted her dragon as she introduced herself. As she stood there she saw him looking her over, and found her cheeks turned a rather pink color.

Momentarily she let her eyes wander over him; he had good looks, nice hair, a firm jaw line. Very handsome. Taking a moment to herself, she observed him, taking in as much as she could. Patting Nima, giving a soft whisper to her dragon, "He is cute, don't you think, Nima?" At this her dragon gave a soft huff, and Fern giggled a little. And it was no surprise as to why he was so handsome when he introduced himself; A chieftains son!? Well what is he doing here... Wait, what am I doing... I should do something, say something.. umm.. umm... She thought, but just then her dragon moved towards him, attempting to nudge against him.

She quickly bowed to him before she realized her dragon had misbehaved; when she did she grabbed Nima by her horn as her dragon fought to sniff at him and search him for food, "My apologies, m'lord!" She said, quickly trying to think of something.. anything.. to say....

Finally Nima relaxed and wandered off to pluck a fish from the waters, as Fern breathed a sigh of relief. "M'lord, if I may ask.. What brings you to Berk?" Her eyes meeting his, blushing a little bit as her eyes once more ran over his masculine figure. Twiddling her thumbs together, she averted her eyes, hoping she hadn't offended him.

Nima? What a strange name. That was until he suddenly realised that the sweet girl named a dragon. Could it really be possible that Viking's and Dragons have gotten well with each other THAT well? Though for events to have past 300 years since Hiccup's days we no small surprise. "Wait. You not only have a Dragon as a companion, but you named it? What exactly happened here on Berk..." Tyr Hakon asked with such astoundment, as such information of human/dragon relationship kept on getting better and better.

It was then he noticed a change in her behave, as she bowed down to him. gulping as he did not want a scene, he leaned forward to her and would gently touch her arms with his soft, tender hands. "Psst, hey! Not so loud! I don't want there to be a scene y'know." Andereas whispered to Fern, looking left and right to make sure no one was looking, before pulling back, standing up straight. The chieftain's son listened to Fern's question and smiled, Tyr Hakon was more than happy to answer that question.

 "For many years the Island of Harangard has heard tales of Viking's and Dragon's living side by side. I wanted to know if that was true, since my people are still suffering from Dragon attacks, and Harangard is the home of Viking Resources. It took us 6 years to return to our former glory as top resource provider. Which is why I have decided to stay here on Berk, and learn how to train a dragon for myself."

[Fern & Nima]

As he examined the scene with an awe-struck expression, she found she couldn't help but laugh a little at his comment, stifling it with a cough. It was not the rude, in your face sort of laughter but rather a sweet, innocent chuckle. She said softly, "Well yes, she is my dragon. I named her when I bonded to her." She said, still stifling a giggle. Yet she became serious as she realized he was a chieftains son and bowed; yet, to her surprise, he laid his hands on her arms and whispered something in her ear.

She smiled at his words, whispering, "Aye, a stowaway?" Her mischievous tones answered him, and she grinned a little more. "Don't worry; your secrets safe with me." She made a gesture of sealing her lip, before realizing his hands were tenderly holding her arms. She patted his hand awkwardly, before listening to the rest of his story.

"Dragons never mean harm. They only hunt for food; most of them have a queen, who controls them. They gather food to feed  to her, and eat  the scraps for themselves." She said, whistling for Nima, who strode over, bobbing her head as she swallowed the fish in her jaws. Fern stroked her hide as she continued, "Legend says Hiccup long ago battled the queen and defeated her, thus freeing the dragons of her control. But then he went on to battle the great Bewilderbeast, the king of all dragons... It is said that his night fury became the supreme alpha.. and well.. the rest is history."

Just then Nima came forward, sniffing him, before running a forked tongue over him and chirping. "I'd say you are one step closer to bonding with a dragon. You got the first step right; extending your hand. That way they get your scent, and shows them you are on the same level as them.. helps earn their trust, so to speak." She said softly, giggling as Nima circled him, sniffing his robes for spare treats. Snorting at finding nothing, she returned to Fern's side, who said softly, "I can't imagine a world at war with dragons... They really are the most beautiful, gentle creatures you'll ever meet."

Tyr Hakon sighed, facepalming himself, feeling silly to have asked such a question of her Dragon's name. "That would explain alot." The cheiftain said in a sarcastic tone to himself. Tyr Hakon shook his head from side to side, hoping to somewhat remain focus on the subject at hand, and looked at the girl named Fern infront of him. He listened to her comment about him being a stowaway and keeping it the secret.

"Eeeeeh, I wouldn't go THAT far on being a stowaway. I asked to come here anyway, so it's not really being a stowaway. Still, keeping it a secret is all good by me. Feels like I am being one of those 'cloak and dagger' people. Enchanting." Tyr hakon joked, grinning in the process. He then listened to Berk's version on Hiccup and introduced the queen that was controling the Dragons. "A Queen you say? Like how a bee hive and a Bee Queen?" The chieftain son assumed, rubbing his chin, thinking on that matter.

Tyr Hakon's thinking soon stopped when he heard from Fern that he is one step closer in bonding with a dragon. "Hey, I just got here. I highly doubt I would bond with a dragon so easily." The Chieftain son doubted, laughing with a bolstrous chuckle. "Besides, Vikings have been fighting against dragons for well over 300 years. It would take a long time for other Island inhabitants to come to terms, or even accept Dragons into their family."

[Fern & Nima]

As he spoke she smiled a little, watching him as he talked about not being a stowaway. At his joke she giggled, before containing herself and smiling at him. "You'll need to sign up for training then." She advised, beaming at him. At her next words of the queens and such, he seemed to understand it. "Yeah I guess its kind of like that." She said as he referred it to a bee hive and its queen. "Only a thousand times more big and scary when they sting." She joked softly, laughing a little at her own joke.

She became serious as he spoke of not being close to training a dragon. "It really isn't all that hard. Dragons.. tend to understand you better then you think. They can sense your fear, and all kinds of things. If only we could do that, eh?" She said, smiling as she patted her dragon. She watched him for a moment as he spoke about his village. "People can change." She said softly, "Look at Berk. Three hundred years ago it was the same as your village, and in one mans lifetime it changed to this. And it has been this way ever since! Amazing eh?"

Reaching forward, she moved to grab his hand. "Come, let me show you." With that she jumped on her dragons back, as her dragon shifted, eyeing him. The dragon let out a soft croon noise, and Fern whispered softly, "Trust me." She motioned to Nima, "Trust her." With that she offered her hand to him, hoping she could take him on a ride.

"Heh, perhaps your right. Though I have no place to live here on Berk." Tyr Hakon spoke, rubbing his chin, as he didn't notice that Fern had grabbed him by the hand, but soon opened his eyes and noticed that he was on the Deadly Nadder. "H-Hey! H-Hold on now! What if I fall off? Is this even safe for a new guy?" Tyr Hakion began to worry, as he would immeditely wrap both hands around Fern's waist, holding on. He ward surprised at how skinny she was when he placed his arms around her, still he ignored the thought, as he gently leaned forward and rested his head on her back, somewhat terrified over the ordeal that he is gonig to fly.

He looked at the Deadly Nadder, slightly gulping, already having second thoughts on getting on a dragon and riding it. "Ooooh beards of Thor, I am going to lose my lunch aren't I?" Tyr Hakon asked, as he kept on shaking his head, scared to the living seven seas over the idea. "Come on, let's get this over with. Oooooh sweet Valhalla, I am not going to like this." Tyr Hakon complained, closing his eyes, ready for the flying to start.

[Fern & Nima]

Nima shifted with the weight of the man on her, and as she turned her head to look at him holding her girl her eyes turned to slits. Turning back, she bent her head, pawing at the ground. Fern, who hadn't noticed her dragons, jealousy, took the reins, "Ok girl, lets take this nice and slow..." She said softly, nudging her dragon, who spread her wings wide. In flurry of dust, she took off, wings flapping as hard as they would go, "I SAID... SLOWWW!" Fern screamed in frustration, as her dragon spun through the air. Finally she leveled out and chirped her satisfaction.

"Dear Thor, whats gotten into you!" Fern exclaimed as she finally caught her breathe. The dragon huffed beneath her, shaking her head in frustration. Fern looked back to see her passenger, "Er, right, sorry about that. Umm.. you can open your eyes now; nothing but smooth sailing ahead." She said softly, and gently moved to put her hand on his. "You know, up here its just you and me... I usually don't go on flights with princes." She said, smiling as she moved to intertwine her fingers with his.

She looked down at his hand, then back to the skies, "You're... you're quite handsome." She said softly, adding, "I suppose its natural being a chieftains son and all.. Me, I'm nothing too attractive. Just a heap of skin and bones with good hair, really." She sighed, before smiling back at him, "I'm sure there's much fairer ladies where you come from, eh?"

As the single manned boat slumped against on of the many piers spanning Berk's port, the battered white sail was dropped, and ropes thrown to the numbers of work hands that stood to attention. Cirad Redthorn II, the one man on board that boat, grunted to himself satisfied and relieved that he had finally reached his first destination on his journey; away from his treacherous mother and jealous...acquaintances. Turning his back to the docks, and eagle eyed workers, Cirad carefully applied some ointment to the large scar that covered the left side of his face, wincing slightly at the sharp spikes of pain in his cheek. When he was satisfied that the deed had been done to a high standard, he returned his attention to the port and the hustle and bustle of fishermen pulling in their catches, or the occasional dragon flying over.



Wait...what...



Dragons? Cirad looked to the skies. Dragons filled every corner. 'Well goodbye everyone', the rational part of his mind thought. 'NO' shouted the pompous and childish majority. 'Fear is weakness! And you are not weak!'. And with that idea pulsing in his head, he stepped off the small boat he had used to travel, and strolled onto the pier. Cheers and whooping were heard as a purple, two legged dragon shot overhead, nearly knocking Cirad back into his tiny boat. "Little brats", he snapped venomously, regaining his stance and resting his hand on his sword as he did. Grimacing disapprovingly at his possible near-death experience with his first dragon encounter, Cirad marched his way towards safer grounds, aka, not a highly flammable wooden platform above icy cold waters.

Through out the whole flying experience Tyr Hakon was screaming like a little girl, clinging onto Fern for dear life when the Deadly Nadder started to fly. "Odin's beeeeard!! Why did I agree to this!?!" Tyr Hakon shouted, as he snuggled up to Fern more, burying his face into her back, daring not to look down. When he heard Fern telling him that it is safe, at first he was abit skeptical, but given this one chance he would look up and open his eyes to see the world of what flying with a dragons looks like.

"By Valhalla's Glory...This is beautiful..."

Tyr Hakon spoke, his eyes widens by the beauty of flying in the clouds, and with the added effects of the sunlgith, it really looked as if he was flying towards Valhalla. The chieftain's son would reach out, touching the clouds as he flew on the Deadly Nadder. That was until he attention was caught when he was complimented and head of her not being attractive. "Now now, thats not true." Tyr Hakon said, resting his chin on her shoulder. "I think being taken to the skys such a beautiful girl is quite the rewarding. Besides...I have a thing for redheads."

[Fern & Nima]

As they took off, she saw a man that they flew over, who seemed disgruntled by their take off. "Sorry!" She called back, but wasn't sure he could hear her. For they were already climbing the skies, as her new friend screamed. When at last they steadied, she smiled as she heard his words turn from horror to awe. "It really is.. " She said softly, looking at the skies, the clouds seemed just perfect, the ocean sparkling beneath them, with a handsome man holding her and all, "Beautiful..." She sighed with contentment; she never got tired of flying; it was always was a great feeling to soar through the heavens.. she almost felt like she could reach out to the great chiefs of the past up here. It really was a great thing; and having company, and handsome company at that, made it that much more rewarding.

Speaking of rewarding, at her next comments he told her that it was a treat to be up here with him. She was about to speak up when his next comment came to her ears, leaving her stammering, "Y-You.. Y-You think so?" She asked quietly, not sure if he was being serious or not. By thor, most guys didn't go after her; most preferred the tougher, more rugged viking-like women. She was certainly one of the odder, less viking like ladies of the bunch; which seemed to work against her, most of the time. She looked back at him, managing softly, "Y-You're kinda cute yourself."
