Physical Description: This dragon is a strong, muscular beast with two legs that it uses to walk on, and rather shorter sized wings. One odd thing about them is their ability to regenerate teeth. No one knows how, but they can often regenerate teeth that fall out within a matter of a few weeks. Standing upright like a deadly nadder, the dragon has hand like claws on the tip of its wings, which are razor sharp, able to cut through brick easily. It also has two smaller, claw like arms where its front legs would be. It gets around by walking on its hind legs, and of course, flying.

With a raptor like head and a beak with an overbite, the beast is foul looking to say the least. It also has several feather like spines on their head. Their body is covered in thick armored scales. They have long spines that run from the top of their head down their tail. They are smaller on each end, growing larger towards the middle. Their jaw is muscular; it is not uncommon to see fangs coming out of the jaw, similar to its nightmare relative. It's eyes are probably the most frightening thing, being completely blood red. Upon its back are long, slender spikes. Similar to a night fury, at the base of tip of its tail lay four thin tail fins. In their bite they have a very deadly venom, which is also given through their razor sharp tail tip, only to be cured by night fury saliva.
Often you can find them in these colors; navy blue, black, deep purple, forest green, crimson red, or stained orange, for females and black, electric blue, crimson red, stained orange, and olive green for males. These colors vary from dragon to dragon, and notably the most common colors are black, blue, and purple; but it is noted that the males usually have brighter scales than the females. This is thought to be a defense mechanism so that the males can distract predators while the female hides on the nest.
Typical Behaviour: They typically run in packs, and are very social creatures. However as they grow older they stray further and further from the pack life. Generally if captured at a young age they can accustom to life with a human partner, but would need supervision as they can be mischievous and often pick fights with other dragons. They tend to be protective of their pack, whether it be humans or dragons, and will fight to protect them.
Normally they are found in the caves around Berk, but nest on dragon island for mating season. It is thought that they breed during the winter, but a select few stay back to guard the territory. They tend to be nocturnal, preferring night time to day time. Hunting is done in groups, usually for fish. Other then that they tend to have a laid back personality, especially towards those they trust. Though, if alarmed, they will go into a defensive mode and attack.
Abilities:
-They are immune to their own venom, which allows them to kill their prey with their venom and then eat it
-Uses their tail fins to guide their flight and provide direction; however without them they cannot fly
-Can move quickly on the ground
-Can use their tail and bite as a weapon to poison their victim.
-Has excellent jaw strength, however their teeth often come out when biting too hard; although they seem to be able to regenerate teeth
-Can use the spikes on their backs for flight maneuvers
-Are able to breathe fire for up to one minute
-Excellent vision
-Highly intelligent
-Hunt in packs
Drawbacks:
-Smaller wings
-When regenerating teeth they often don't regenerate in the same spot, and can cause sores in their mouth upon regenerating
-Although immune to their venom, large amounts can make them severely ill
-When firing their flame they tire quickly
-Their bones break easily
-They are relatively weak in physical strength
-They are not as fast in flight as on the ground
-They do not have much stamina for long flights due to their small wings
-Although both modes of travel are fast, they tend to prefer running on the ground in packs versus flying; thus they are more efficient hunters on the ground
-Eels make them horribly sick
-If separated from their pack, they are vulnerable to predators
Training Methods: Bring fish, and plenty of it; depending on the dragon they may want it descaled or even cooked. However do not, under any circumstances, bring them an eel. It is best advised to keep in mind when training this beast that they are usually wary of humans to begin with.
Habitat: These beasts are marked as uncommon. They are common enough that you may see a pack flying by, but getting close to one is a different story.
Diet: Fish; they are picky eaters.
