(EX-CLAIMER: NONE OF THIS ART IS MINE!)
Physical Description:
These dragons stand tall and proud much like a lion, their short neck held up high. Their neck isn't too long but can be made to look longer when they lower them. Their scales colors are usually green, blue, black, silver, brown and gold. Snapwings usually have two colors, their underbelly scale color and top scale color. Their heads are very large and their jaws are strong and tough. You can see when Snapwings close their mouth their sharp teeth poke out, sticking out in various places. On the top of their head are two strait, smooth horns. Under each of those two horns are two spikes that are the sharpest. The Snapwing would use these for swinging their head and hurting the dragons attacking their sides. Their scales are layered carefully and very tightly. One huge weakness is how the scales are layered. If a viking (Very mean one) is able to jump on its back then they can stab a sword or dagger into the spot right where their scales are layered and pierce the soft skin. This is a very rare occurrence because of their dangerous tail. Their tail is layered with spikes that are deadly sharp, though they cant fly out like a Deadly Nadders they are still dangerous. Females tend to be lighter and more agile while males tend to be bulkier and less agile. These dragons are about 10 feet taller than a Monstrous Nightmare, living in the mountains they easily overcome predators and prey. Though they tend to stay in the mountains its very rare for them to stay in the village. It does make is possible though because their wings can tuck into their bodies, which gives them room to stay in a large clearing in Berk, though its not likely. Their legs are spiked on the back and their claws are short but super sharp. Their legs are muscular and have deadly sharp claws that are used for landing on mountains.
Their wings are large and leathery, thick muscles holding them. Though they look tough they can be susceptible of arrows and sharp objects that could pierce them. As they get older their wings become tougher, meaning less the flight experience the more chance they get shot down. They don't take too long to heal but still hurts the dragons.
Stats:
Attack: 8
Speed: 17
Armour: 14
Fire power: 7
Shot limit: 3
Venom: 0
Jaw Strength: 13
Stealth: 4
Typical Behaviour:
Snapwings tend to be social dragons and stay in groups. They rarely stay in alone but its possible that they stay in pairs, usually of the same gender. With mates they only stay with the other and almost never leave their side. Males seem to be less social able then females.
Abilities:
Instead of red/orange fire, Snapwings have blue. Its very powerful fire and is hotter than normal because you know. Blue fire is hotter than normal fire. It can't match a Monstrous Nightmares though.
Their wings can sink into their back. Not many know if the wings just blend in or disappear completely but they can fold them tight enough so that they look like they have no wings. Where their wings are the scales are looser, making it super easy to sink into their bodies. Instead of going inside their bodies there is a pocket of skin inside their bodies that keeps the wings protected. If a viking where to stab there while the Snapwing was folding its wings in, they could kill the dragon easily.
Drawbacks:
These dragons are aggressive and fearful of Deadly Nadders because of the chance of their sharp spikes lodging between their scales. They are sometimes aggressive when around hatchlings and/or the pair they fly with.
Their wings are very susceptible to be torn/pierced by sharp objects such as arrows. They get tougher with age.
The way their scales are layered its impossible to not ride with a saddle unless you want to be uncomfortable the whole ride.
Their bellies are softer than most dragons.
Training Methods:
These dragons take pity easily and if you are hurt or sad, they are like a dog. They will be there to try and make you laugh and be happy. If they ever see you sad they will continue to stay with you in hopes of never seeing you sad again.
They hate weapons and just like any other dragon, need to be approached with precaution. They take a while to trust humans but if you show them something interesting to them (Shiny things, Sculptures, herbs, wood carvings, animal pelts ect) they will be sure to follow you home. (Basically something they have never seen before)
Habitat: They are pretty uncommon and don't live by the village. They tend to stay in the mountains because of their earthy tones and don't approach the village very often unless very injured.
Diet:
These dragons love any kind of meat as they live in the mountains and fish would be a last resort for food.
