The young scaled creature slept peacefully inside a small house.. It was somewhere around three in the morning, and his hunger pangs were hitting again. "Mama! Me hungry..." He growled in his sleep, before rolling over, kicking his tiny claws. "Mama.... Food... now..." He growled, getting agitated as he was drawn to open his eyes. "Mama!" He screeched, but found the house dark and the fire put out. He sniffed around, searching for food in the kitchen, but found only yucky breads and vegetables. No meat!
Suddenly a light from the corner of his eye caught his attention; the door was open. And coming in from the door were many marvelous scents. Inhaling deeply, he lifted his head high as he waddled like a zombie to the door; he hesitated only a moment, looking back, "Nah, mama be fine." He rumbled softly, before nudging open the door. Out he went; down the steps and past the village huts, past the dragon feeders until he came to the source where the marvelous array of scents were coming from; the forest. Of course, to him, it looked like paradise. To any human it would look very scary, though. He scampered forward, waddling through the shrubbery until he found some shrubbery. Chewing on a berry, he tasted it and spat it out quickly, "Blach! Bad! Very bad!"
Hunting around, he found himself unsuccessful at finding meat; only plants, plants, and more plants. But it was then he saw a flicker of movement. A rabbit; feeding off of some shrubbery. Without thinking, his mouth opened and a sharp sound came from him, flames coming from his mouth. The flames erupted like thunder, for it was his first time firing a shot, and he had no control whatsoever. The flames were so strongly exhaled that his neck ached from trying to keep his head from flying all over the place as he fired. Finally when the flames stopped, he saw that the place the rabbit had been was burned to a crisp. Approaching slowly, he sniffed around, before seeing the figure of the rabbit. For a moment the thought of what he had done occurred to him, but hunger overpowered any guilt and he dug his teeth into the burnt flesh, enjoying his first kill.
