Everything was quiet for a moment, and thank Thor for Jokul's good sense of humor, for it was quick to diffuse any tension that remained thanks to the incident just moments prior. She laughed a little, "You and me will take on the world. Pirate ships, take over lands; we'll rule first Berk... then... the world!" She was obviously joking, and by the time she finished she had buckled over in laughter, her hand going to his shoulder for support.
Of course, when the laughter died down, she found herself gazing fondly at Jokul, her hand going to his cheek as she spoke his name. She realized he was leaning forward, and something inside her drew to make her lean forward as well, her eyes closing. Yet just then a familiar dragon pushed her way into the scene. And as the two started talking in dragonese, Fern was thoroughly confused. "Kruno? Who's Kruno?" She asked curiously, looking around the room. All the while the baby nadder seemed insistent on bugging Jokul in particular. Yet at the name Kruno the little nadder crooned, and Fern squinted at him. "Oh.. so you're Kruno, eh little guy?" She cooed softly, reaching out to stroke the nadder, who jumped over Jokul and into Fern's lap.
Before she knew it, the dragon had curled up into a ball on her lap, a soft rumbling sound coming from him, almost how a modern cat would purr. As Jokul mentioned suddenly that Kruno became Starkads nephew, Fern furrowed her brow, confused, "Wha-" She questioned quietly, looking to Kruno, before Jokul explained further. "Umm... What exactly did she say to you?" Fern asked quietly, yet there was a curiosity to her tone.
Finally after a few moments she seemed to realize something and moved to grab Jokul by the shoulders, which caused the young nadder to spook and jump off her lap. "Jokul! The lesson. Lesson number two remember?"She put one hand to her chin, "Hmm.. Teach me how to say.. My dragons names. Might be better then baby girl." She said with a sincere laugh. It was time to get the lesson underway.
