Species name: Fossil Cracker
Class: Tidal
Physical Description: Hammer headed sea dragons Fossil Crackers have wide powerful jaws and front feet and legs larger than those at the rear. This gives them a loaping bear like stride and a very powerful lunge. Their head and back are covered in powerful plates that let them ram a target with incredible force when combined with the force they can hurl themselves forward with. Their wings stretch from their front feet to their hips allowing them to use their incredible leg power for lift in the air and to help them swim, this also means they can dive and rise at a very steep angle but they aren't very good at careful turns and need to tip their entire body to turn. Fossil Crackers have wide fluked tails that help provide them with more power in the water where they spend most of their lives as well as beating the ground as a display of power when they get angry.
Stats:
Attack: 10
Speed: 8
Armour: 7
Fire power: 5
Shot limit: 6
Venom: 0
Jaw Strength: 15
Stealth: 5
Typical Behaviour: Fossil Crackers are hard headed and tend to solve problems with direct force, by their nature they're unbelivably stubborn and proud but can be coersed if approached the right way. Fossil Crackers can accept small groups but don't appreciate crowds and often become needlessly assertive and bad tempered when they feel there are too many other dragons or humans around them.
Abilities: Though their jaws aren't very long they are wide enough to grasp most things and powerful enough to crush bone into dust in seconds. They are capable of firing thick and burning globs of tar that can stick a viking to the floor and cause severe burns until it cools. In the water and on land they are very capable of moving at speed and can be surprisingly manuverable. Their eyesight is powerful and they can see just as well above and below the surface of the water.
Drawbacks: Similar to Nadders Fossil Crackers have a blindspot between their seperated eyes, they also have poor senses of smell compared to most dragons or even humans. Their heavy build makes it difficult for them to stop sharply when they gain momentum and they tend to colide with things clumsily and destructivly. In the air they can be a little clumsy and if struck can often come crashing down.
Training Methods: Bonding with a Fossil Cracker will require butting heads, often literally. They have a great respect for anyone who has the courage to stand up to them and this can be a good if painful first impression to bring out against them, from there they bond similar to most prideful and aggressive dragons. A common mistake is feeding a Fossil Cracker meat and then trying to take the bones away before they've eaten them, Fossil Crackers hate to think someone is taking their food. A good way to bond with a Fossil Cracker is by burying things on the beach for it to find, though this can make a huge mess, Fossil Crackers are a far cry from Tracker dragons when it comes to accurately locating things.
Habitat: Fossil Crackers are commonly located in small groups of about eight and are often located in shallow oceans and reefs and mainly nest on sandbars where their packs can protect the eggs. They are not rare but their mobile natures can make it difficult to be found sometimes since they're usually in moving pockets sweeping through very large areas of ocean territory.
Diet: Fossil Crackers feed primarily on bones, coral and hard shelled foods such as lobsters or clams but their prefered meals are fossils. May fossils found are created by these dragons burying bones or shellfish and coating it in their tar for later and then forgetting about it. They also eat chalk or other minerals made up from fossil build up which meant for a short period they were mistaken for Boulder Class.
