Species name: Sled Jaw
Class: Strike
Physical Description: Sled Jaws are stocky dragons with large and armoured wings and large plates on their lower jaw sloping forward and up to their mouths. Their undersides are scaled to provide very little friction and these dragons move at great speed by sledding across the ice and folding their wings forward over their heads to reduce drag and make them very powerful in a collision. A Sled Jaws tail has a large ridge along it helping serve as a rudder while sliding and a hook at the end that can catch the ice for sudden stops and turns. Its legs also have spurs on their backs that help it control its motions and its powerful wings mean it can take off easily and hit the ground at high speed. These dragons rarely stop moving and even without a frozen environment they create their own to utilize their sliding power. A Sled Jaws wings lock down connecting with their jaw plate so that they only have a single gap to see through as well as enough space to open their jaw and fire while on the move. Their stout legs have little to no trouble walking on the ice and despite their weight the way their feet spread it means they rarely cause even a slight crack. Their bodies are usually a dark grey with streaks of white towards their face and ranging to black at their tails, this colour makes a charging Sled Jaw almost invisible in sun glare or heavy snow. A Sled Jaw has two large upturning tusks that act both as a powerful tool and weapon and when they lock their wings down these serve as points to brace against and ensure their positioning always closes in perfectly.
Stats:
Attack: 16
Speed: 14
Armour: 18
Fire power: 8
Shot limit: 10
Venom: 0
Jaw Strength: 14
Stealth: 10
Typical Behaviour: Sled Jaws have a very dominant nature and often clash with other dragons to assert themselves. They will take whatever they feel they need and because of their harsh homes this reaction is often necessary but can make them hard to keep with other dragons. Sled Jaws never back down and can be recklessly headstrong when they feel challenged.
Abilities: A Sled Jaws shots are high pressurized freeze blasts that create a layer of solid ice that can freeze up their surroundings and whatever it hits bringing their icy environment with them ensuring they always have their greatest advantage. Their speeding movements are almost unstoppable on ice and attempting to get in ones way is suicidal. In the air Sled Jaws move very fast in straight lines and often need to snag something with their tails to make sharp turns. They have very good eyesight and they don't care at all about extreme cold, they can even survive freezing.
Drawbacks: Sled Jaws are poor swimmers and avoid it whenever possible. They become sluggish in high temperatures and can become very unhappy about it, if there is a single target causing this they become very violent towards this source. Sled Jaws are very wilful and often don't listen to orders when things get hectic or they are engaged in fights of dominance.
Training Methods: Sled Jaws are hardy and if given too much comfort too quickly they will reject it, often the best way is to live with them first and then slowly introduce them to their new homes. They need a great deal of space and like to freeze their dens and if they want more space they will smash their way out. Under no circumstances should a Sled Jaw be housed with other dragons on a permanent basis.
Habitat: Sled Jaws are rare dragons that live in mated pairs or alone and do not tolerate intrusions in their huge territories. They thrive in frozen locations and often clash with Snow Wraiths over territory but inevitably defeat this weaker breed in straight fights.
Diet: Sled Jaws commonly feed on yaks or deer, any large animals that they find in their snowy climates. Because of their hostile climate these dragons will eat almost anything and often rely on roots that they can dig up using their shovel like lower jaws.
