NAME: Krënl
AGE: 19 months.
GENDER: Male.
SPECIES: Changewing.
LIKES: - Discovering new things by observing others, mostly from humans. They are very inventive and have incredible stuff for themselves and other dragons. Some things might be useful for Krënl.
- Rolling around is the funniest thing ever !
- Hiding, following, stalking. You learn looots of things.
- Eating. Food's tasty. Lots of food is way better.
DISLIKES: - Being seen against his will when trying to be sneaky. That thing is so shameful !
- Being hungry. His belly can't stop complaining and it's not pleasant.
- Blood, that stinks.
- Wasting food. IT's there to be eaten, right ? It would not be food otherwise.
STRENGTHS: - Learns fast. He obviously can't do the same things than humans because of his paws, but concepts are enough to make something. Like, the dragon could use a boat's sail to stay warm, to hide stuff, or as a protection against rain.
- His selective memory helps him to remember about things. But... It has a counterpart.
- Trying out new things made him resourceful. Even if a dragon can't do things like a human, he might know how to use what he found.
- Krëln's empathy is strong. Living in a pack teaches how to live in a society.
WEAKNESSES: - His love for food made him kinda... Ravenous. Even if he's not hungry, he'd want to eat. This can make him lose focus very often.
- A too much selective memory. He won't remember about two thirds of what he did. However, as said above, what he remembers about it detailed and clear.
- Krëln is very timid, despite his empathy. He'd tend to not approach people while not camouflaged, unless he feels like he has to show himself for whatever reason. When he is walking next to the human village or through it, he would do everything to not bump into anyone. Sometimes, one has to go deeper to learn more things.
- When something unexpected happens, like, a bad thing ruining the whole plan, Krënl rolls around endlessly, too panicked to do anything else. He's unable to face bad surprises correctly.
- Krënl is easily distracted. His curiosity can make him very focused on a certain thing but not the rest.
AMBITIONS: - Knowing everythiiiiing ! But since it can't be done, Krënl would have an occupation for very, very long.
- Leaving the pack at some time to explore and discover more from the world. It seems large, after all ! But he knows he would have to come back eventually, since it's every Changewing's task to hatch dragonlings.
FEARS: - Thunder. Thor please just stop I did nothing this tree neither why are you attacking us please just stop !
- Cages. Being emprisonned is the very last thing Krëln would want.
- Fire. Seriously, that thing HURTS. And it DANCES. But it's NOT ALIVE. That's CREEPY AS HELL. Hopefully, an acid spit can extinguish a small one... How about LARGER ONES ?
APPEARANCE: Looking like any common Changewing, Krënl is still not an adult, being slightly smaller than fully grown Changewing. His scales' color is close to grey yet slightly red, giving him a kind of depressing color to watch, even if the dragon does not seem to mind about his appearance. After all, he is not the one looking at himself!
The dragon would, despite these differences, look like any other Changewing. His eyes are orange, there are solid spines along his back, neck and tail, he has got two side horns and antennae... There is not this much to tell about this dragon's appearance.
PERSONALITY: Krënl's main trait is his curiosity. Something new or unknown in sight ? It would immediatly get his full attention. Was he chatting with another dragon ? Nope sorry sir there's an interresting thingy there I wanna see. Often losing his focus on what the dragon was doing because of this, he would, however, have his two eyes pointing at the object of his curiosity. Krënl would, in this case, attempt to know anything new about this discovery. If it is about any other creature, human or dragon, he would, obviously, investigate while being camouflaged.
When the Changewing is not trapped by his curiosity, so with other dragons, his behavior is usually more sociable. Within his pack, talking, playing, learning and helping others is his everyday life, waiting for the day to be mature enough to get a female partner, then to get her lay eggs. Getting in front of creatures not being part of his pack make him shy, hesitating, unless he does want to show himself to this creature for any reason. It could be the wish to talk, the wish to ask something, the wish to try to befriend, etc.
If Changewings are caring by nature, one would have to show interrest toward Krënl in order to make him more interrested into this person. Why would someone want to know more about him ? Why would someone attempt to know him ? As long as things are friendly and nice, and if Krënl makes a little bit of efforts, he easily can consider someone as a friend. However, once broken, his trust hardly can be gained again. If this friendship lasts long enough, the Changewing tends to show too much affection toward the ones he cares about.
Krënl loves fishing. This is the easiest hobby, and the most feeding one. It is even more enjoyable when fishing with friends, like for any other activity.
Finally, Krënl will never agree to do something against his will. This also is the very best way to lose his trust instantly...
HISTORY: The need to breath, to move, to get out. There was a sudden heavy noise, then nothing. Unable to breath. Going toward the heavy light. Quickly. Can breath. Breath, recover, growl, cough, get out of there. And a brand new world was discovered. It no longer was dark. It no longer was almost silent... Lots of noises, of other figures... But there was one he felt comfortable with. Mother. She looked nice. She looked gentle, friendly, warm...
He grew up. He got a name. He made friends. He learned how to walk, how to shortly fly, having to stay on his native island for months but when his mother carried him on her back to explore or fish together. Peaceful times.
One day, a strange wooden thing came. It carried strange creatures. Krënl wanted to know what these things were and came closer, well hidden. They apparently were bipedals, aiming at other Changewings with their weird paw. No claw, no fang, no wing, no scales, but fur there and there. And what is this weird thing, there, on this wooden floating thing ?
The dragon ended lost beneath a large piece of cloth. Since it was warm and comfy, he took a nice nap.
Later, the ground was moving slightly, waking up the dragon. He got out of this cloth, under the surprised eyes of the bipedal creatures, on the wooden thing, surrounded by water. Krënl called for mother, loudly, sadly, worried. The creatures seemed worried too now and gave him fish. Food. Food ! The dragon stopped complaining and ate happily, but when it was done, he would call mother again. Then he saw a bipedal pink animal using a kind of sharp stick to get fish from water. Stick gets fish. Because it was sharp ? The Changewing came closer, observing the fish getting grabbed from water. Nice stick it was ! He tried with a claw. Fish got impaled but slipped from claw. He looks at claw and sharp stick. Sharp stick had weird other spikes. Sharp stick pierces and grabs ! Amazing thing ! Krënl was happy, grabbing the harpoon between his jaws, wanting to keep it now. Soon enough, mother came, growling at the pink creatures before carrying her son back toward their nest.
Months later, Krënl was finally able to fly decently, all by himself, with no help. Because of this, he was allowed to go wherever he wanted as long as he was careful about himself and his surroundings, according to his mother. Agreeing with this, the teenage dragon waited for days for another of these floating things to come back with these strange, curious creatures. Weeks later, there was another one. Happy about this, the Changewing took the harpoon he hid all of this time before going to the ship, hoping they would recognize him. But they apparently were different, even if they seemed glad to see a dragon coming with one of their tools. Why would they be chuckling, however ?
When they left the island, Krënl would simply take off, following their embarcation while camouflaged, wondering where these creatures were coming from. Eventually, they would reach Berk, filled with more of these creatures and dragons he never saw. It was the best place ever ! There was so much to discover there... After finding a nice place to settle in for some time, Krënl guessed he could stay there for some time, coming back to his island from time to time to give news and to see his friends again, but also to tell them how many amazing things he discovered...
