Good First Impressions Are Never Easy To Make [Jokul]

Fellicya rubbed a hand over her face when she finally stepped out and hour later from the Grand Hall.
About a month ago she had learned about Berk, the place were tamed dragons was one of the most ordinary things. The place where she would maybe finally find her place. It took her a week to think it through but in the end they decided to go and see if the stories were true or just exagerated lies and, Oh boy, were they true. Never had she EVER seen a place like this. SwifBite was so excited by the population of dragons and humans, he would have probably ran all over the place, randomly biting strangers as they passed by, if it weren't for the fact that Fellicya had an arm wrapped around his neck, keeping him close to her. On the other hand BlazingHeart didn't seem to even care more than that about their surroundings. Except from a small grunt here and there she payed absolutely no mind to the villagers or their dragons, wich she supposed was a good thing. If she had panicked and went on a rampage there was no doubt they wouldn't be welcomed here.

They asked a man how to find the chief and he gladly showed her the way to the Grand Hall. When 'collecting informations' about Berk from the traveler who told it's tales he explained her she would want to concider meeting the man that was in charge of the whole village before exploring the place. Especially with a dragon her Typhoomerang's size.

So she did! And only now did she came out of the meeting. "Well that went better than expected...I suppose." SwiftBite barely gave her the time to close the door behind her before pouncing on the poor girl, succesfully pinning her against the huge wooden door as he started assaulting her face with quick licks. "Oh my THOR!! SwiftBite you weight a ton- Get off you big butt!" She pushed him away without a great deal of efforts but started laughing when he licked her hands instead of her face. "You're so gross..."
The Scuttleclaw finally backed away and crooned joyfully at her, bouncing from feet to feet in excitement. BlazingHeart who had waited her turn to greet her human finally lowered her head to nudge Fellicya who, after brushing the drool off her hands and face, began caressing the dragon's nose bridge who purred in return. "Hey, sorry for making you wait guys but now I'm done!"  The Typhoomerang stared at her a couple of second before pushing her with the side of it's jaw, a low and inquiring rumble coming from her throat. SwifBite, now intrigued as well, stepped closer his head turning in quick movement from side to side. "Hm? Nah, I'm okay don't worry. Let's say this man is... Kind of a lot intimidating... Also I might have been panicking for nothing when going in." She gave a cheepish chuckle while playing with her fingers. "But hey! I'm good now! All is good in the hood so let's go and meet people what do you say?!" SwiftBite started chirping as he jumped all around BlazingHeart and Fellicya, batting his wings to show his excitement once more. BlazingHeart her gave a last suspicious glance at her rider before dropping it and standing back up. Fellicya sighed as she relaxed, glad that both of her dragons were too interested by exploring the place to continue nagging her.

The small group started wandering around, principally led by SwiftBite who found himself lost in the distractions. He was made dizzy by all the thing wich called his attention, he even ended up running back toward them stoped when he colided with BlazingHeart's midle, earning a warning growl from the bigger dragon and a small muffled giggle from their rider.



They kept loitering for a couple of minutes and would have done it for a couple more hours if not for a precise smell attracting the Scuttleclaw. "Swiftty? You alright there?" The sudden way he froze confused Fellicya but just as quickly as he had stopped he rounded her, pushing his head between her legs until he could make her fall on his back and carry her as he dashed foreward. How glad was she that he did that a lot before or she would have fell from the start. "SwiftBite wait! Calm down boy! Oh come on what's up with you!" BlazingHeart barely had the time to widen her own fire like eyes before she gave an offended roar and started chasing both the dragon and her human.

SwifBite refused to stop and kept running as fast as he could, jumping above people and dodging obstacles like he had done it his whole life. Wich he probably did. He came to an abrupt alt to glance around him and try to find back the sent he was following before finally finding it and dashing once more toward the Dragon's Stables without his ridder's knowledge. "I hope Blaze' managed to follow us..." Fellicya threw a quick glance behind her and was surprised when she found no dragon, she began worrying but a shadow flew above their head and all it took was for her to look up to see that the dragon had indeed managed to follow them. "Heh..." She snorted in relief before focusing her attention on the road. It seemed SwifBite was taking them at an alarming speed right to... "Wait, hold on, SwiftBite slow down! Slow down!! SLOW DO-" The layer of mud and snow outside made his claws slippery just like the entrance of the stables and it didn't take long for Fellicya to understand how this would end. And still, he didn't slow down. As he stepped into the stables he immediatly tripped, sending both of them flying right into the stables. BlazingHeart roared panickedly as she came down , shoving alf of her neck through the door to check on her rider, sighing in relief when she saw no blood nor sign of harm.

Fellicya was lying face up on the ground, groaning loudly with absolutely no intent on getting up while SwifBite trashed around, like a fish out of water, to try and get back up. BlazingHeart snarled at him briefly before waddling her way into the stables, sitting next to Fellicya and nudging her face lightly with her snout. "Hmm... 'm okay..." When SwifBite finally managed to get back on his feet he shily approached Fellicya as well, nudging her hand with his snout in a similar way like BlazingHeart did. The Red Head snorted before waving them off , not showing any sign of trying to get up any time soon. "Am definetly okay guys... Just- Give me a sec... Or two... Maybe an hour." She opened an eye to look at both head hovering over her before closing it again. "Make it a year."

[Jokul & Starkad]

It wasn't long after Snoggletog when Jokul realized how much he missed alone time. Since Shade's return from the breeding grounds, Starkad hadn't left her side, almost like she was afraid she'll leave if she looks away. With the small hobblegrunt so occupied with her mother, Jokul's days were silent and uneventful... just the way he likes them.

Except those few quiet days came to an end when it started snowing and the trouble-maker followed him outside. Now the two were falling back into their normal routine; as Jokul would do his chores, Starkad would trail either in front of him or behind him. Either way, the adolescent reptile couldn't help herself by rolling in the white powder.

"Can you not?" Jokul grumbled in dragonese as he trudged his way across the snow-covered ground. Starkad merely gave him her trademark smirk before bouncing over to his side. "Snow is fun!" And with that, she shook her entire body free of the white stuff, making it splatter all over her rider's clothing. "Come on, Jokul!"

"Hate to break it to you, but I don't play in the snow, and I never will." Put out by his lack of interest, the dragon went back to making patterns in the powder with her feet.

Ever since Jokul began dating Fern, the teen couldn't think straight. Nothing made sense to him anymore, girls in particular. At least the dragon stables would help clear his mind... or that's what he thought.

He quickly found he couldn't even get past the entrance of the cave-like room since a large red dragon was standing just inside it. As for what breed, he couldn't tell. All he knew was that he hadn't seen one around Berk before now. Straining his senses to help him identify the maroon blur, he heard quiet draconic chuffs and gurgles.

That alone didn't exactly help him, so he shimmied his way around the large dragon, trying not to alert it of his presence. After getting a safe distance past them, he almost fell when he slipped on some mud. Not that far behind him, Starkad snorted and chuffed at the near-fall. "Shut up, Stark! You want me to laugh at you next time?!" She only hopped from mud-puddle to mud-puddle, not giving a care in the world.

The teen growled under his breath before he brought his attention back to the unknown dragon. As he rounded it, he saw another dark red blob, except this one was on the ground. The first thought that came to mind was that it was Fern, but upon hearing her strained voice, he threw that idea away.

Yet another colorful shape entered his line of sight as he continued his circular path. Again, he could only tell it's size, not that he was surprised. Through the dragon's guilt-filled apologies toward the girl, he could make out a little of her somewhat coherent sentences.

"Just- Give me a sec... Or two... Maybe an hour."

Even without seeing what had happened, Jokul could take a guess it involved some sort of incident with the younger dragon. He'd been in that position far too many times to count, after all.

Giving up on the loner-like aura, he carefully edged closer, giving the two dragons ample time to notice him. "I have a feeling you didn't plan on sleeping on the ground when you walked in."

Starkad, bless her, brushed past him and sniffed at the three newcomers in order of their size, smallest to largest, before rounding back to the young woman. They all smelled so much more differently than other vikings on Berk, and that immediately caught her attention. As she proceeded to stick her nose where it didn't belong, her colors became their curious purple and blue.

Jokul saw this and sighed at his dragon's antics. "Don't mind her. She doesn't understand the concept of personal space."

[Fellicya Strongmouth]

BlazingHeart inhaled before puffing out warm air on Fellicya's face. She didn't pay any mind to their surroundings as per usual but SwifBite immediatly noticed the person approaching them, his head turned to the side so he could quickly glance up and down to examine him. BlazingHeart mmediatly raised her own head when seeing the other dragon's suspicious movement, a sneer plastered on her face. "Tiny fleshy!! That's a friend!" SwiftBite didn't seem as hostile to the human as the Typhoomerang in the end, he started batting his wings to jump over Fellicya and lend close to the boy, tilting his head from side to side before turning back toward BlazingHeart, gurgling inquiringly. "Human is friend right?" The sneer on the other dragon's face didn't seem to falter but she did turn away to watch her human once again. "Do as you wish. I am not going near that thing and neither is he going near us." She growled at the human boy, squinting her eyes menacingly before stepping to the side so she could be even closer to Fellicya who looked up at her.

"Heh? What's up Blaze?" The Typhoomerang answered her with a long deep croon supposed to reassure her, rubbing her chin on the girl's face in affection. "Yeah, yeah I love you too." When another voice that didn't belong to her nor her dragons, that she knew for sure, spoke next to them her eyes widened in realisation and she quickly started trying to get up as well. "Oh my- I'm so sorry, I didnt' mean to-" With her luck she only managed to slip once more and fall backward, caught by BlazingHeart's nose bridge. The dragon made a soft rumble as she pushed Fellicya back up, the girl offering her a small thankfull smile before turning her attention toward the person that spoke to them. "I-I'm really sorry, I hope I didn't cause any trouble or worst hit you by accident. SwiftBite is just..." She glanced at the Scuttleclaw that started sniffing the boy, rubbing his maw against he's back. "Let's say young..."

Fellicya's Blue eyes immediatly snapped down to the Hobblegrunt, she bit her lips and kneeled to be at it's level and extended a hand with a warm smile. "I see you have your own little trouble maker... Hello lil', you're one pretty girl aren't you?" She glanced up at the boy, smirking in understanding. "Don't worry, as you can see I have a troublemaker twice as big as yours, Double the trouble." With her free hand Fellicya began scratching the tiny dragon under her chin, making a smoochy face as she did so. "Thor knows how cute you are..." 

BlazingHeart didn't think so. A low warning rumble started deep in her chest before she had enough of the tiny one, nudging her away from Fellicya in pure jealousy. Fellicya frowned at her before standing back up, flicking the Typhoomerang's nose as she scolded her. "Stop that you big baby, you're supposed to be a grown adult." BlazingHeart sneezed, redirecting her glare from the small dragon to the Red head. She didn't like the fact that some other dragon got her human's attention. Scratch that, another dragon will not have her human's attention. "SwiftBite, play with the young one. I'm sure you two will quickly become friends." The Typhoomerang was smiling smugly at the Hobblegrunt not needing to wait more than a split second before SwiftBite started squawking happily, charging like a yak toward the smaller dragon as he batted his wings in excitement. "Alright!! Frieeeeends!" Immediatly after landing close to the Hobblegrunt he began harassing her with licks, stepping closer and closer but being careful enough not to directly step on her.

"SwiftBite no! You're going to scare her!! I'm sorry he's not THAT excited usua-" Fellicya glanced at her Typhoomerang who looked so smug and proud of herself that it could only be suspicious. She pointed an accusatory finger at her, squinting. "It's your fault isn't it?" Her only answer was a loud snort before BlazingHeart turned her back to her. "Oh come on! And SwiftBite stop that! Ugh, what did I do to deserve you guys!!" Fellicya whined loudly, brushing her hands over her face as she continued complaining. "Seriously, can you believe those dragons?" She looked up at the boy before finally remembering his presence. "For Thor's sake... I'm really, really sorry for them. Even if they're probably not. I am." SwiftBite was literally ignoring them, playing with his tiny new friend, while BlazingHeart huffed, still as smug as one could be. Fellicya lowered her head, offering a cheepish attempt of a smile to the stranger. "Yeah... They definetly don't even if they should... Anyway, Hi! My name is Fellicya and it's very nice meeting you... Even if the pleasure is not returned." She quikly extended a hand, now smiling brightly at him, but just as quickly took it back to brush it off on her clothes before offering it again. "Haha, sorry. Here."

Next to her BlazingHeart whined loudly in embarassement for her friend, even going as far as hiding her head between her wings. Fellicya's smile tensed into an annoyed smirk as she elbowed the dragon in return for her helpful reaction. "Shut up."

[Jokul & Starkad]

The corner of Jokul's lip twitched at the larger dragon's comment. Well, there's another reptile that hates my guts right off the bat. He told himself. Fine by me. I don't want anymore giant dragon friends. I'm sure a certain scauldron by the name of Crystal is more than enough anyhow.

The girl's blubbering caused the teen's annoyance to grow, and make his patience start to wear thin. Jokul huffed and moved to hold his hands behind his back, hoping it would keep him from crossing them instead. "It's fine. Starkad and I weren't in, um... Swiftbite's path of destruction."

"Let's say young..."

And just like that, he felt the other dragon's breath going across his neck. other than tensing his body up, Jokul remained frozen as the scuttleclaw poked and prodded him. At one point, the dragon's large nose knocked the teen's helmet right off his head, making it clatter to the ground. Instead of putting it back, Jokul just slouched and accepted defeat. He knew there wouldn't be any point to getting it back if it was just going to be lost again.

Starkad would've helped him, but the moment Fellicya started cooing and giving her attention, her plan was forgotten. It didn't take long for her 'happy colors' to come shining through their previous dark shade, especially when the young woman scratched the hobblegrunt's special spot. Without Starkad even realizing it, her hind leg started to paw at the air in a circular motion.

Jokul watched on as they got acquainted while he was left with smelling Swiftbite's fish and mutton breath. "Oooh, trust me..." He resisted the urge to clench his fists as he continued. "She makes up for her size in energy. That Loki-spawn is the reason every farmer has to barricade their livestock in in the morning." And the reason why I avoid people. He tacked on mentally.

In her bliss-like state, Starkad failed to notice the typhoomerang's growing irritation, so when she was finally pushed away from her new scratching post, she looked up at the larger dragon with pure innocence, unsure of what she'd done wrong. "Stark-" Her rider started berating her, but he was cut off when the red typhoomerang decided it was time to distract the little nuisances.

There was little warning to the hobblegrunt before the scuttleclaw nearly bowled her over with his sheer size. She was shoved every which way each time Swiftbite licked her, and she could barely comprehend what was happening, save for the fact that he wasn't angry. The only thing that helped her focus was the laughing she heard from Jokul.

"Ohohoho!" Jokul pointed at the new duo as his body shook in laughter. "Finally found someone more annoying than you, Stark!?" She rarely ever heard the sound, making her think her big brother didn't know how to. But hearing, and feeling the pure, unfiltered joy come from him, she elatedly started to run around the scuttleclaw's legs, trying to stay away from Swiftbite's tongue.

Jokul waved Fellicya off when she tried to stop her scuttleclaw from playing with his dragon. "No, no, no! It's fine! She deserves to have someone push her around this time around." He laughed again when he spotted the yellow and green blur start running away at full speed to escape Swiftbite's wrath.

"You're my new favorite reptile." The teen said mirthfully to the typhoomerang. In his rare happy mood, it didn't even register to him that he'd switched over to dragonese. Living with three vikings that could understand both languages made him able to use both interchangeably, but outside the house, he usually had to think before he said anything, lest he come across someone who can't speak one or the other.

At her apology, he rolled his shoulders and smiled up at Blazingheart. "Oh yeah... I'm fairly certain she's proud of herself. Frankly, I am too. It's not often Stark can't handle her playmate. It's usually the other way round."

The girl's greeting wasn't normal per se, but Jokul'd dealt with worse. He barely caught sight of her pulling her hand away for a moment, no doubt to wipe something off, before she offered it again. Taking it without a second thought, he replied, "Jokul. And my little pest over there is Starkad."

[Fellicya Strongmouth]

Fellicya slightly tilted her head in a similar manor to SwifBite when confused, raising a Red eyebrow at his laugh. On the side SwiftBite only took the boy's laughter encouragingly and started walking on place, turning around without watching his tail and almost slapping Fellicya in the back of her head. He felt incredibly excited by the quick dodges of the tiny dragon and started putting more speed in his movements until he was literally pushing his nose against Starkad's rear and literally pushing her now. 

"No, no, no! It's fine! She deserves to have someone push her around this time around."

The girl finally stopped trying to calm her Scuttleclaw down, knowing very well that he wouldn't hurt the smaller dragon, and if the boy didn't have any problem with him pushing her around she had no reason to stop SwiftBite. She still found it necessary to precise SwiftBite wouldn't hurt her even by accident. "He's precise so he won't step on her, just in case." She bit her lips to try and restrain herself from grinning but excitement shone in her big Blue eyes. The girl finally snapped and started doing hte same smoochy face she did when looking at the dragon, squeaking happily as she dragged out a long 'D'aw' noise. "You're just as adorable as your Hobblegrunt when you smile!"

Well in the end this boy didn't seem that mean or intimidating. Just a bit broody she guessed. BlazingHeart still didn't think much of him and when he spoke their language her expression seemed to tense before turning toward Fellicya to fold her wings around the girl. "Well you are not my favorite human." She huffed, rolled her eyes and then nodded at the human. "But I suppose you can be concidered far from the worst one of the human race." It was the closest thing to a compliment she could give him and after the little sentence. She didn't know how she felt about him speaking dragonese and wasn't in a hury to know.
"Wait- What?" Fellicya pushed her dragons wings up without paying any mind to her dragon's usual pocessive behavior, stepping out from under them and finally daring to take one step closer.


"Oh yeah... I'm fairly certain she's proud of herself. Frankly, I am too. It's not often Stark can't handle her playmate. It's usually the other way round."



The playmate in question was not allowing Starkad to rest. He jumped over StarKad, landing in front of her and spreading his wings to block her way and doing that a couple more times before pinching her gently but quickly by her middle to start carrying her like a lion would carry her cub.
BlazingHeart seemed quite pleased with the praise, she didn't croon like she would have for Fellicya but she did stop frowning, a small smile tugging at the corner of her maw. "Well I suppose you not as stupid and oblivious as the norm either." 

Fellicya was incredibly confused by the fast change in her dragon's behavior and still wanted to know what he had said. She ignored it to focus on the language thing that was far more interesting, or at least bugging her enough that she would temporally forget about the incredible thing that was BlazingHeart stopping glaring at him. "Yeah but like I said, he's twice her size AND a Scuttleclaw." She stopped right before asking her question, listening to the introduction, waving her free hand at the poor busy Hobblegrunt. "Hullo Starkad." She didn't let go of the hand she was shaking yet, taking another step closer and staring inquiringly at the boy. "Well it's nice to meet you, like I said before, but I think I heard you slip words that aren't even close to any nordic languages I've heard." She finally let go, placing her hands behind her back as she whispered. "And it sounded awesome. What was it?"

[Jokul & Starkad]

Starkad couldn't contain her glee when she was underfoot of the scuttleclaw. Save for Sub-zero, there were very few dragons who played along with her. "I'm small! You'll never get me!" She cried just before she was forced to waddle awkwardly on her front legs as her rear end was pushed up into the air. "No! I chase you!" The hobblegrunt whined and complained to longer Swiftbite ignored her, but she continued to try and evade his maw.

"Even if he does, I'm sure she'll be alright. She's been through worse." While he wasn't referring the her torn wing at first, he realized his statement was truer than he thought after he'd said it.

Obviously, he couldn't exactly see the face she was making, but he could guess considering the noises she was making. "I am not like her..." He grumbled. And just like that, he brought back his normal grumpy persona. Once he replayed her words in his head, he felt his neck and cheeks heat up. It wasn't everyday he was complimented, regardless if it were teasing or not. To hide the growing blush, he bent down to retrieve his helmet. "I'm pretty sure I'm her opposite."

"Well you are not my favorite human."

He could tell she was majorly possessive already. He was just happy she was another dragon that would avoid him instead of being another one of Starkad's new friends. And speaking of Starkad, the young dragon was in the process of trying to appear bigger than she really was by spreading her own wings out to mirror Swiftbite's. Of course, the only thing that that achieved was showing her unsymmetrical webbing.

When he picked her up by her neck, albeit gently, she protested by squealing, "NO! Only Momma can pick me up!" She tossed and turned in her captor's mouth, managing to roll out when she pushed against his lower jaw with her hind legs. Just as she hit the ground, she was off again, this time jumping fully onto Swiftbite's head. Her tail swished back and forth in his vision as she turned to face his nose. Her feet were wobbly and unsure until she settled herself between his eyes. You could say the scuttleclaw's forehead was perfectly made for the little hobblegrunt. Even as the larger dragon moved, she happily started gnawing on the horn in front of her.

"Well I suppose you are not as stupid and oblivious as the norm either."

Wow. Thanks. I feel so much better to be on your good side now. He rolled his eyes. "You got me there. I can't imagine having a scuttleclaw of all dragons following me around all day. I mean, Starkad doesn't even listen to me half the time." He had to admit, it was a weird way to give a handshake, but he kept quiet as she waved over to the color-changing dragon.

"What was it?"

"Huh?" He furrowed his brow for a second, confused by what she was talking about. It didn't take long for it to dawn on him that he must've switched languages somewhere in the middle of their meeting. "Oh, you mean this? It's dragonese. I'm not really surprised it's new to you. There's probably only a handful of families here that are fluent in it, and we're the ones surrounded by dragons all the time."

Catching a bit of Jokul's explanation, Starkad let go of her new chew toy and exclaimed, "Yeah! Big brother is 'mazing!" He cocked an eyebrow at her child-like praise, and the fact that she hadn't fallen off yet. "He doesn't like all the fun stuffs though." Jokul just rolled his eyes again. At least Fellicya can't translate, otherwise she'd have her ear talked off by the hobblegrunt.

[Fellicya Strongmouth]

It was way too easy to find a way to tease the boy and far too enjoyable too. Fellicya's soft giggles were covered by the excited and loud squawking of her Scuttleclaw but she still covered her mouth with the tip of her fingers, Blue eyes shinning with mischief. Said eyes glanced quickly at SwiftBite, not really trusting him with such a small dragon, but didn't found any trace of harm. "STARKAD!! STARKAD Friend!! Me bigger me chaser!" He squawked loudly in appreciation, it hadn't been too long since the last time any dragon entertained him, BlazingHeart did play with him, quite often one would say to see she didn't actually care, but there was a huge difference between being literally dominated and having to wrestle his way out from under the huge dragon and being the one dominating the play time against a smaller one. A smaller one that wasn't a Terribleterror that is.


"I'm pretty sure I'm her opposite."


"Alright, alright. You're her opposite...." The young woman said with a calm and collected voice. "Adorable opposite but opposite." Before grinning like a sly fox as she snickered once more.


"You got me there. I can't imagine having a scuttleclaw of all dragons following me around all day. I mean, Starkad doesn't even listen to me half the time."


Fellicya's pupils were as blown as far as a human's could be at the sound of the strange language. It sounded nice in her ear. She tilted her head to the side, a small awed smile playing on her lips, listening to his explanation before almost immediatly bristling. BlazingHeat almost felt sorry for the human boy. She made sure she showed her amusement to both of them through a deep throaty sound akin to a laugh. "Now you've done it."

Whatever he had meant by 'we're the ones surrounded by dragons' it wasn't taken well and actually did offend her. Wich was a first since she didn't easily get offended. Usually. That was a lie.

"Excuse you, but I'll have you know that I've been living with those two for the past four years."
 She crossed her arms over her chest, raising her chin in a show of confidance as she went on. "I learned all I know about dragons from the dragons themselves, wild dragons. Living and learning at their side Almost getting killed more than once when helping wounded ones. But SwiftBite, BlazingHeart and I never needed to learn any fancy dragon language to communicate." She was pouting now, feeling far less knowledgeable and experimented on the matter than before. Maybe she didn't know as much as she thought. Maybe she wasn't as good with dragons as she thought she was!!

BlazingHeart seemed to feel the sudden unneased shift in her rider's mood, she crooned at her, nudging her foreward with her snout. It was her first time actually trying to befriend someone with the intent of keeping them as a friend after the interaction instead of just flying away and letting fate decide wether or not they'll meet again, maybe she should make an effort.

Fellicya glanced from her feet to the Typhoomerang and back at Jokul before sighing, forcing herself to relax as she tried to offer another sheepish grin at the boy. "Sorry for snapping... I'm just... Really sensible when it comes to dragons, especially my own knowledge of them... Kind of a hard blow to the self-esteem when living one is living with dragons for years, making it a point to know as much about them as possible and then learning they have their own language that I never even heard of just like that." She rubbed the back of her neck, letting the silence linger a little as she looked around, clearly wanting to say something else but hesitating after her little slip. "Actually I think it's incredibly awesome that your people managed to learn the dragon's language, it sounds so smooth. How long have you talked it?" A small blush crept on her cheeks as she tried to start the conversation again, still embarassed by her small oubtburst. "I'd like to learn more about it... If you don't mind that is. You seem to master the subject and I have to admit, bilingual is super impressive." She chuckled, because yeah, learning one language awas one hell of a job, but learning two? Even cooler and probably harder.

[Jokul & Starkad]

"Adorable opposite but opposite."

He rolled his eyes at that and went back to crossing his arms. Having the word 'adorable' used to describe him hurt what little pride he had left. However, he kept any comments about it to himself. Better not to agitate the one who has two reptile friends who could trample him. But it seemed that idea was thrown away when she started telling him off.

Jokul found it impossible to get a word in edgewise as she went on. While he couldn't sympathize much with the temper tantrum she was having, he understood why she was frustrated. To her, he'd just opened up a door she hadn't even known had existed until now.

As her hostility grew, Starkad's frill twitched and furrowed in place. No! Bad feelings! She skidded to a halt and looked over to where the two humans where talking, only to find Fellicya's tense and aggressive stance. Abandoning her new playmate, the young dragon crawled towards her, cautiously as to not scare the typhoomerang.

When she stood no farther than a few terror-lengths away, she saw and felt every emotion that swept through the woman, as well as overhearing the end of her rant. Now that she knew words would be useless, Starkad purred quietly. A newer, warmer wave of concern passed through her frill, coming from the dragon beside her.

The hobblegrunt made sure to keep an eye on BlazingHeart, but she couldn't help circling the woman's legs in an attempt to help calm her down. She never did like having to feel the negative emotions of humans.

"It's not that hard to miss, actually. Every species has their own, slightly altered version. I mean, you can't really expect a terrible terror to make a sound anywhere close to a thunderdrum, can you? Plus, their language is based mostly off of the normal, everyday sounds you hear. Most people can make rough translations just like that if they've been around them long enough."

He hoped that'd make her feel a little more confident about what she knew. All of it was true, of course. Dragonese wasn't like a human language where one word meant one word only. For them, the word 'baby' could be 'hatchling', or 'young/little one', depending on what kind of dragon was speaking.

"How long have you talked it?"

Trying to keep the smugness out of his voice, he replied, "I don't remember a time when I couldn't. Ever since I was born my mom switched between Norse and Dragonese all the time. Dad too." The teen gave an amused smirk at the typhoomerang hovering over Fellicya. "I basically grew up with a dragon as my aunt."

An excited coo came from Starkad as she waddled over. Begrudgingly, Jokul muttered in dragonese, "And apparently with one as my sister too..." The hobblegrunt hissed playfully at him, having heard every word.

"I'd like to learn more about it... If you don't mind that is."

Seemingly against his will, he imagined being her tutor on the subject, and eventually, he thought of his only other student. Since when did I become the resident Dragonese teacher? Oh Hel... Well... If I can handle one student, what's one more?

"Um, okay. Sure. Is there anywhere specific you wanna start? Otherwise I'm just going to end up starting with a universal draconic greeting." Her praise did little to help his ego, but it did make him feel more enthused to teach her something new.

[Fellicya Strongmouth]

SwiftBite almost flew above Starkad when she suddenly stopped, he had quite some trouble slowing down and just ended flapping his wings to jump above the smaller dragon so that he wouldn't step on her. "Where is tiny friend stopping?" He lowered his head, tilting it to the side so he could look the Hobble Grunt up and down. "What does tiny friend mean?" He stood back up when she suddenly walked away, leaving him standing in his confusion as she approached his rider.

BlazingHeart glanced at the small HobbleGrunt from the corner of her eyes, huffing in disinterest and then redirecting her full attention on the two humans. Fellicya seemed to relax far more easily with the help and comfort of the two dragons clsoe to her. She reached a hand to caress StarKad's snout gently while mouthing her 'thanks' before she could take her hand back and look back at Jokul.


Apparently no one was aware of the poor Scuttle Claw who had been abandonned without a second thought, still staring dumbly at the small group, waiting to be called over or anything else that could tell him he was wanted. 

"It's not that hard to miss, actually..."

Fellicya listened to the boy's explenation, offering him a shy but thankful smile for the little boost to her wounded pride. She rubbed her arm quite awkwardly, nodding to show her understanding, her interest slowly picked up once more. "Really?" A hopeful grin stretched her lips, she glanced at BlazingHeart who purred loudly at her before she glanced, herself, at Jokul nodding her approval at the effort he made. "Good job boy." 

"I don't remember a time when I couldn't. Ever since I was born my mom switched between Norse and Dragonese all the time. Dad too."

The grin turned into a small smirk as Jokul almost gloated. It wasn't his words that gave him away, no absolutely not, it was more the way he stood or the intonation of his voice. Living communicating through sounds and the emotions they gave away made what seemed like small details to other tell a lot more to her. She crossed her arms, cocking her hips to the side as she answered. "Wow, the more you talk about it the more I'm impressed." And she truly was, it was indeed surprising that one could leanr two different way of speaking while still being young. "I can't even imagine how I would have had trouble learning two languages at the same time." She slowly grew more and more excited as they spoke, her eyes reflecting all the passion she felt about learning such new things about dragons. Even if she tried she wouldn't be able to help it, it was just so... Fascinating. "I can't even imagine how it must feell ike to you. Like it's a normal thing for you when I'm getting my mind blow all over the place." 

At the mention of parents she almost 'yucked'. She managed to catch herself before she did, only wincing lightly as she shrugged. "Can't say my parents teached me a lot of things. The reason why I've spent the past four years at my dragon's side is because they abandonned me." BlazingHeart's eyes suddenl widened at the mention of this event. She worriedly looked her rider over, pushing the full lenght of her nose bridge against the girl who only laughed at her. "Hey, it's alright! I don't care!" Fellicya tried pushing the dragon away but finally gave up and just stepped to the side to dodge the nudges. "Quit it. Like I say, the past is in the past. Whatever."

The Typhoomerang seemed satisfied by Fellicya's answer, she finally straightened back up, glancing at Jokul as she raised an unimpressed brow ridge before puffing playfully a larging cloud of warm hair in his face. "Watch it boy." It was official, the human managed to get the honour of being nicknamed by BlazingHeart and his nickname would be 'boy'.


Fellicya was so pleased to see the exchange between Jokul and StarKad. She smiled warmly at both of them, just enjoying their own way of displaying their love. BlazingHeart wasn't as affected as her rider but she did understand that they were family and chose not to comment on the little show of affection. SwiftBite still waited in the background, not really understanding, nor trying, what had happened to his play time.

"Um, okay. Sure. Is there anywhere specific you wanna start? Otherwise I'm just going to end up starting with a universal draconic greeting."

At that a loud squeaking bubbled it's way up her throat. The Red head started bouncing as she giggled. "Oh my Thor this is so awesome!! D'you hear that Blaze'?! I'm gonna be taught dragon speaking by a master of the language!!!" The Typhoomerang answered her with a long and happy gurgle, raising her chin a little to make it more pronounced before lowering it again. "I know this is awesome! High five!" She raised a hand, her dragon not missing a beat and raising her own two claws so that they could properly lightly bump them together.


"Alright!" The girl started looking around, searching for her Scuttle Claw who crooned happily for her attention. When her eyes finally landed on him she raised a hand, bracing herself as she repeated herself. "High five!" But instead of a high five the dragon charged her, barreling into his rider with excitement before pinning her to the ground. "No SwiftBite! No!" She pushed her feets against his snout as he squawked excitedly, nipping her here and there, lightly tugging on her hair and making it into a mess. "Stop it you big butt! BlazingHeart halp!" Fellicya pushed as hard as she could finally managing to get the dragon off her as she scrambled back up, ready to run away. The Typhoomerang immediatly answered the cry for help, diving down to catch SwiftBite's tail between her maw, careful not to hurt him. "No! No, leggo! Aah! Bite hurt! So mean..." He still started squawking in fake panic, batting his wings erratically to try and get away as he was pulled up in the air. "Not so fast SwiftBite."

Fellicya laughed, starting to search for a place where she could hide. Her eyes immediatly found Jokul and a mischevious and sharp grin stretched her feature once more. She jogged to hide behind him, using him as shield against her dragon. "You're a man right? Protect the poor damsel in distrest then." She giggled, forcing the boy into the game as well.  "You can let go Blaze!!" The huge dragon's eyes narrowed with the same evil edge Fellicya's smile had "Good luck." and with that she let go of the beast who immediatly charged toward the two humans with happy and excited sqawk.

She was having so much fun she completly forgot to answer his question. Well, there was a time for everything.

[Jokul & Starkad]

"Good job, boy."

And thank you, Little Miss I-don't-trust-you. He held the snarky comment back, knowing it wouldn't help keep the dragon on his side. "Actually, it was easier to start learning both at the same time. At least that way I didn't get accustomed to how a word was used in Norse."

Down beside him, Starkad shook her body free of dirt and mud from her scuffle with Swiftbite. She somehow managed to fling most of it directly at her rider's legs. Some of the mud actually found its way onto his cheek. Lucky for her, with the teen busy talking to Fellicya, he didn't have time to deal with her childish antics.

So instead, he kept his focus on the conversation, "Yeah, I guess... But I've never tried to understand body language. I'd say that's a bit more impressive since nothing is said aloud." And he meant it. For the past year, he couldn't count on his eyes to tell him what someone was really saying, so he depended on speech, or on Starkad if all else failed.

"The reason why I've spent the past four years at my dragons' side is because they abandoned me."

The sudden introduction to the seemingly dark or depressing story made the air around them grow equally as tense. Starkad picked up on it immediately, sensing the change through her crest, and Jokul could tell judging by the thyphoomerang's reaction to cuddle up against Fellicya.

"Like I say, the past is in the past. Whatever."

Whether he was aware of it or not, Jokul's arm twitched toward Starkad's wing. "Yeah... Tell me about it." He murmured to himself. The dragon by his feet sidestepped to press her shoulder against his hand, cooing quietly to assure him she was still there.

"I'm going to be taught dragon speaking by a master of the language!!!"

"I-I wouldn't say master... and I don't think I'm the best teacher... but I'll give it my best shot." Once again, he felt like puffing out his chest and admitting to the one thing he was actually good at.

"High five!"

He snapped his head towards her, thinking she was talking to him. Seeing the red head closer to her dragon eased his nerves though. The massive blob in in his vision shifted, and he assumed it was to meet her girl's high-five.

The little hobblegrunt's tail swished back and forth on the ground, digging a small path in the mud as it moved. Starkad almost felt like Fellicya's excitement was becoming her own. Even the Red Girl wasn't this anxious to learn Dragonese.

Despite his proclivity to stay disinterested in most things, a smile tugged on the viking's lips. It grew when the scuttleclaw tackled his rider. He knew that feeling all too well. His conscience was telling him to help, but his rational side argued that there wouldn't be much he could do anyway. So instead, he ended up watching the scene unfold.

Starkad went through a similar train of thought when Swiftbite was lifted off the ground by the larger dragon. Her mother had a habit of doing that to her when she was misbehaving, and she didn't exactly want her new friend to feel that way. However, she knew there wasn't anything she'd be able to do. The typhoomerang would probably just toss her aside without even trying, so she ended up looking on with Jokul.

"You're a man right? Protect the poor damsel in distress then."

What!? There wasn't much time between him hearing her and realizing what her intentions were. All he could do was see the bright blue and red blur close in on him. Starkad, on the other hand, squeaked and scrambled to get out of the way.

This is going to hurt. Was the last thing to go through Jokul's head before the dragon bowled him over. At least the mud provided a bit more of a cushion than plain old dirt would. He was right about it hurting though. The force of the impact threw his helmet off, making it splatter into the mud for the second time that day, and whatever air he had in his body was pushed out the moment he hit the ground. "Uhhhhhhh." The throaty groan was the only sound he was able to make.

His dragon, in the meantime, was chuffing with laughs and exclaimed, "Big brother is all dirty now!"

[Fellicya Strongmouth]

"I'd say that's a bit more impressive since nothing is said aloud."

Fellicya's eyes widened at the praise, her cheeks gaining a pinker tone as she tucked a strand of hair behing her ear in embarassement. It wasn't often that anyone complimented her on anything, or even of that she had anything to be complimented on to begin with. "Ah, you think? Thanks, I guess."


"Yeah... Tell me about it."

By the way his words carried bitterness the Red head understood that the poor boy had had his fair share of unenjoyable experiences. She nodded in understanding, feeling her chest lighten at the knowledge that the pain was somewhat shared.


Fellicya's mouth stretched into the largest grin she could muster as she watche SwiftBite charge toward them. The whole scene went in slow motion in her widening eyes.


The Yellow of SwiftBite's round eyes was almost unnoticable because of the equally round, wide and Black pupils filled with childlish glee. His tongue was lolling out on the side of his huge smile, wings fully spread to give him balance as he charged the two teenagers like a mad yak.

Behind him BlazingHeart's own eyes widened as she started putting her whole weight on her hind legs, taking a croushing position so she could be ready for when it would be time for her to participate in the game too.

Fellicya started backing away, one hand place on Jokul's shoulder while the other tugged on his arm to make him step backward with her too in an fake attempt at escaping the Scuttleclaw's attack.


Things started back up at a normal pace, SwiftBite pounced on the two humans, clawed feets first as he succesfully landed on Jokul but also Fellicya with a loud cheerful squawk. "Tackle pounce!" The girl, failing to avoid the inevitable, landed in the dirt followed close by Jokul and SwiftBite, the weight of a grown man and dragon squeezing all the air out of her body in a burst of laughter. She started pushing her hands against the boy's shoulders, leting her head fall backward as her laughter incrased in volume. "Ohoho my Thor! I can't breath- this is too much!!" Her eyes drifted shut and she started shaking her legs to try and push the others off her while she gasped for air between giggles but SwiftBite wouldn't budge. Of course not with his full weight but not so far either.

The Scuttleclaw looked both humans over while chirping lightly at them, approaching his head before tilting it to the side to get a better view of his new playmates, each of his movement fast and erratic. "Two for one! Bigger number, much more funnier!!" He was intrigued by the loud noises of his rider and her cheerfulness only made his own excitement incrase. "Tiny fleshy happy!" He squawked joyfully once more, licking both human's face to show his appreciation, to the human's dismay, but after hearing Starkad's snickers the assault immediatly stopped, snapping his head toward the source of the sound, all trace of amusement gone from his features for a couple of minutes.

At the lack of sound Fellicya snapped her eyes open, stopping each and every one of her movements to glance thrilledly from SwiftBite to StarKad. "You need dirt too then!" The dragon suddenly started squawking loudly as it's smile came back full force, this time he chose StarKad for target as he charged while uselessly batting his wings in excitement.
"C'm'here!!"


Fellicya pushed on her elbows and pulled herself from under Jokul, sliding her hands under his arms to help him back up as she grinned mischeviously for no reason in particular. "Go get her boy!" She chukled but didn't relax, nor let her guard down. Standing on edge she lightly nudged Jokul with her elbow before warning him. "It's not finished yet." Suddenly she squealed like a child, jumping to the side as she began running around the other to hide from BlazingHeart.

The Typhoomerang had quickly closed the distance between the two humans and herself, her eyes squinting while giving her a Chesire cat look. "Well, hello there." There she stood, an inch away from the small human boy, head lowered so she could look him in the eye. "Isn't it fancy meeting you here. I'm currently looking for my runt of a rider, you do not happen to have seen her..." Her tone lowered to a deep and playfully menacing rumble as she looked around. "Do you?" With her head still turned to the side, her pupils suddenly narrowed, snapping back to Jokul from the corner of her eye to stare him down.


Behind him Fellicya tried to make herself as small as possible, giggling in such a childlish way that one would think she was far younger than what she actually was.
She tried whispering 'don't' to Jokul but ended giggling it in the most obvious way possible.


A warm cloud of air was puffed on his face, signing his possible death.

[Fern & Nima]

Fern was going about her day to day activities, when Kruno started to perk up. "Friend?" He crooned, looking around abruptly. A sudden growl came from his throat, his horns retracting against his skull. Fern, having never seen Kruno respond to a situation with aggression, followed his gaze to a Typhoomperang taking flight and a Scuttleclaw darting off with a girl running after. Fern was momentarily surprised, since the girl seemed to be a stranger to this land. "Relax, Kruno, she's just a tourist." Fern said with a laugh, but it wasn't until she caught a glimpse of Jokul going in the same direction that she became curious; just what was that boy up to?

Unaware of the situation, Fern decided to follow Jokul a distance behind. He evidently wasn't aware of her presence and seemed to be in a rush to get somewhere. Suddenly just as quickly as she had seen him, he had disappeared into the brush. Fern looked around quickly, trying to figure out where he had gone off to. It wasn't until she heard laughter that she raised a brow, as Kruno landed beside her with a quiet growl. "Easy, Kruno." She said softly, a hand going to his nose to soothe him.

Slinking ahead, she heard more laughter and dragon noises. The figure of a huge dragon was up ahead, which explained why Kruno was so irritated. But what she saw next she truly wasn't prepared for. Just as she stepped out of the brush, she saw the figure of the girl, laying with Jokul on top of her.

Within moments tears entered her eyes, as she backed up. Kruno raised his horns, crooning at the sudden change in emotion of his rider. Kruno, confused for a moment, looked to Jokul and then to his rider. For a moment he seemed torn, before following after as Fern ran away. It wasn't until something caught her by her shirt that she was picked up slightly off the ground, her feet still trying to lead her away. "Let me go!"

A femine croon answered her, huffing angrily. The nadder narrowed her eyes, "Since when did my rider run away from her problems rather then facing them?" Fern squirmed to get away, but her nadder simply readjusted, before flying back to Jokul, with Fern struggling to get away. "Say something..." The nadder huffed in an annoyed tone.

Dropping her to the ground, Fern quickly gathered herself up and strode towards them, "You." Her tones were so cold that if words could kill, one might be dead. Her malice was directed at the girl, before she grabbed Jokul's shoulder in an attempt to turn him to face her. "Explain. Now."

[Jokul & Starkad]

Jokul was getting the feeling that Fellicya dealt with getting the breath knocked out of her lungs often. Considering she was laughing right now, of all things, it was a good guess. The entire time Swiftbite's weight was on him he couldn't hear anything other than his own frantic breathing. He faintly heard the scuttleclaw practically mocking him, and Starkad laughing, but he wasn't sure of anything whilst he was trying not to feel like he was dying. The sudden lifting of the weight on his chest should've helped him breath, but when he tried to take a breath in, he found that a full breath meant a sting of pain would follow.

Starkad was dealing with problems all her own. She couldn't shake the scuttleclaw off her tail, no matter how many times she zigzagged back and forth. "No fun! I wanna chase!"

For a split second, Starkad felt a rush of insecurity not too far away. It was so unexpected and ended up making the hobblegrunt's step falter. It was long enough to distract her until Swiftbite ran her over. With a short squeak, she landed with all her limbs sprawled out beside her in the mud.

"No fun..." She grumbled.

Jokul had to agree. He had only just managed to sit up when Fellicya told him it wasn't over yet. As his darkened vision returned to his normal blurry state, he immediately had his focus on the gray reptilian head in front of him.

"Well, hello there."

He could literally hear the grin in her voice as she continued. The sarcasm dripping from her was obvious as well. Though, in all honesty, Jokul hadn't even realized where Fellicya had gone in his confusion. And whatever reply he tried to make for her, came out as a wheezed, "Ow..."

The human-like voice behind him made him realize what the girl had done. Yeah, it's always fun to pick on the one who can't see. Not that she or Blazing Heart would know that, but he couldn't help thinking it.

Starkad, now covered from head to toe in mud, froze when a new set of emotions entered the area. it was similar to what she'd sensed before, but now it was layered with other, more hostile auras.

"Jokul!" She cried and ran in an attempt to get away from the angry feelings. "Bad! Bad feels!" She squawked and made a beeline for her rider, once again leaving Swiftbite alone.

Ignoring how close the typhoomerang was, the boy groaned and rolled to push himself up onto his feet. Another 'ow' came out with a grunt when he finally straightened out from his kneeling position. By now, he could hear what his dragon was whining about, but he chose to ignore her too.

"You're... right..." He wheezed further. "Scuttleclaws... are worse."

He would've gotten his helmet, but two things stopped him. One; he couldn't exactly see it while it was hidden underneath all the mud. And two; a new voice sounded from behind him.

"You."

If he couldn't breathe before, now he felt like the air was sucked out of him. He could've sworn he felt his heart stop as well when their hand grabbed his shoulder and demanded him to explain.

"Fern?" He managed to squeak as he turned his head. Sure enough, the red head stood there next to him. "I-uh... I-" The teen swallowed, hoping to fix his dry, hoarse voice.

"Red Girl is mad!"

Starkad's comment snapped him to attention. "What did I... do?"

[Fellicya Strongmouth]

"Jokul! Bad! Bad feels!"

The hurried tone of the smaller dragon didn't go unnoticed to SwiftBite. It immediatly put him on the defensive and when StarKad ran away he started bristling. "What's wrong!?" He ran after her, ending shasing her once more but for different reasons now. He stopped when he stood right above Starkad and close to the two humans, wings spread to be ready to protect them. The Scuttle Claw kept swinging his head around to search for the danger that was supposed to be there.

If the Hobblegrunt had bad feelings about something it was unacceptable to ignore her warnings.


"Scuttleclaws... are worse."


Fellicya on her side was far less worried than her dragon. Giggles kept bubbling in her throat and she was this close to give up and just die of laughter. The corner of her eyes were wrinkled and tears started to pearl in them, threatening to fall any second. "Yes! Yes they are!" She gave Jokul a beaming smile as her Scuttle Claw gurgled anxiously, pushing his head under her arm to try and get her attention. Of course she was too distracted to really notice and only caressed the dragon's snout, at least soothing him down a little.

BlazingHeart was incredibly content with the fact that Fellicya was having so much fun, it wasn't everyday the girl laughed until she cried and it was refreshing to see she was still a child, her childn but it didn't stop her from noticing the drop in excitement in both the younglings.

A small frown replaced her relaxed expression and she slowly traightened, scanning the area for threats. "Runt, what is troubling you?" It barely took a second for her question to be answered by what looked strangely like another Red headed human, just like her own.


"You."

The two dragons and their rider's attention immediatly snapped to the new comer. Fellicya's broad smile turned a little confused but didn't waver.


SwiftBite seemed confused as well but for different reason than his rider's, he straightened while slightly folding his wings back to his side but not fully, just in case. His aggressive stence only faltered when his eyes landed on the Red Deadly Nadder standing not far from her rider, a large smile stretched the corner of his maw and he started chirping happily. "Ruby pretty!" He batted his wings in excitement and rushed to join the Nadder's side, chirping all along.

BlazingHeart watched him with a completly horrified expression, looking utterly disgusted by the interaction. Or maybe it was the way he acted or just the plain idea and context at this point. This was incredibly embarassing to watch for some reason.

SwiftBite stopped in front of the beautiful nadder to greet her "Hi pretty ruby! Hi~..." before jogging to stand at her side and snuggle against her side, staring up at her with large and shining pupils under the judging and disgusted gaze of BlazingHeart.

It seemed both dragons had completly forgotten about the humans and StarKad.


"What did I... do?"


Fellicya watched her dragon to make sure he wasn't going to cause any real 'trouble' and when he did not she turned her attention back at Jokul and his... Friend?

Her interest started to perk up when Jokul said the girl's name. If he knew her she had to be a good person and if she was a good person she was a potential friend. She jogged to stand next to the boy, now beaming at the new comer, completly oblivious to the tension in the air. "Hullo! My name is Fellicya it's nice to meet you. The Typhoo behind me is BlazingHeart and the... Young fiesty man courting your dragon is SwiftBite." Once more she wanted to extend her hand but remembered how dirty it probably was just like the rest of her clothes so that concidering brushing it off on her clothes would be impossible.

A small frown tugged the corner of her mouth down and she rubbed the back of her head sheepishly. "Sorry but I'm covered in mud so I can't really shake your hand but we can always shake hands when I'll be clean!" At the solution to her dirt problem she started smiling again, quick to explain why she was in such a state. "Ah
- I don't cover in the mud for fun! Don't worry, I'm not crazy, we were playing with the dragonsand I fell." She shrugged before starting to bounce again on the tip of her feets, eyes wide in newly found glee. "Oh my Thor, maybe you could play with us!" The flow of words started once again, the girl babbling excitedly as she played with one of her braids. "It would be even more fun with four dragons and three persons! We don't really have real purpose except chasing and being chased and tackling, but it's still fun!" She frowned suddenly, staring at the other's hair as she tapped a finger on her chin.

"Yeah but it would be sad to get dirt on your hair, it look really soft and pretty." She bounced a little closer to watch her curiously. "How do you get them to do that?"


"Any secret?" She said while waggling her eyebrows, leaning closer.

Yep, oblivious as ever.

[Fern & Nima]

Steaming mad, Fern looked from the red haired girl to Jokul, her eyes slits as the girl started happily piping up. Fuming inside, Fern took in the scene around her. The dragons seemed on edge, ready to attack. At their stances Nima displayed her spines, wrapping her tail protecitvely around Fern. "You mess with her, you mess with me." The usually calm nadder growled menacingly. A voice from behind snarled, "And me." As Kruno came to step up beside his mother. Nima, being the smart one, positioned herself between Fern and the other dragons.

Fern, for once, pushed her away as Jokul spoke, asking what he did. "What did you do... Oh I don't know..." She pointed at the girl, "Maybe follow off after the first red head you see and start fondling her like a nadder in heat!" Okay, maybe an exaggeration, but her point was across nonetheless. "And you!" She glared at the other red head, "Do us all a favor and shut your mouth!"

If things weren't tense already, Kruno, in the mist of it all, started to get more and more aggravated. At his owners aggression he took this as a sign to be aggressive as well and spread his wings in a challenge display. Nima, who was never one to back down from a challenge, snarled as she backed up to her sons side. "Fern... get behind us..."

"Oh for Thor's sake why..." Fern muttered, annoyed, but when she looked behind her her own anger was quickly forgotten. "Nima, no!" Kruno had his spikes aimed at the Jokul, Nima's at the girl. Fern quickly got in front of Jokul. "Kruno.... You got to get through me to hurt him."

Kruno growled, "Out of the way."

It was then it dawned on her. Dragon fights were entirely different from human fights. While human fights were resolved in a short time, dragons created grudges and held them to the death.
