Name: Ari Sigmundr
Species: Human
Description of character: He is a 45 year old man, who is the main shaman and human healer on berk. He is youngest, and last surviving, brother of three, (the middle of which was Kenna’s father). While his brothers being a great warrior and blacksmith respectively, he apprenticed to the shaman of the time, and became the main authority of the village when it came to healing the sick. He is also married to Sif, a woman who is of a similar disposition to his and so helps him in most of his endeavors.
A traditionalist at heart, he is very weary of foreigners and change. As he is a traditionalist, he is fine with dragons, but is still somewhat wary of their destructive nature. He is a great healer and a very respected elder of the village, but he has a dark side which he keeps hidden behind the veneer of a genial old man. Using his position and gossip of the village, as well as making shred alliances with certain more unsavory characters, he has over the years amassed a large amount of information about the people who live on Berk, and has on occasion used some of the darker secrets he has learnt over the years to damage and blackmail people who he dislikes. There have even been times where he has intentionally let, or caused someone in his care to die, for what he felt was for the best of the village.
He is not actively malignant, and most people just think of him as the kind healer who helps them out every know and the, and the few that do know what he’s really like he already has enough of a hold over them that they dare not tell anyone, but he does believe when he does do things to damage others it’s for the best of the village. He mistrusts the young dragon healer, Luna, who he has since learnt is in fact the daughter of the chief of Hysteria. For now he accepts it is worth her living here, but he is prepared to take actions against her if he ever feels like she is trying to supplant him.
As far as physical description is concerned, he’s roughly average height and slightly overweight due to the fact that he doesn’t get the proper exercise anymore. He has shoulder length light brown hair, which has the occasionally noticeable grey hairs that are already starting to show. His face is also starting to show the effects of permanent wrinkles and a raggedy beard which was lightly darker than his hair. His eyes are a dark blue. He has a large staff which he uses as a crutch due to a wound to his leg one of his brother’s dragons inflicted many years ago, but the reality is he is able to walk fine but decided to pretend to still have a limp to make himself look like less of a threat.
Setup: He exists as a character who can turn up at any point where healing is required, though in most of those cases it is probably better he be used as an NPC. Also, given his extensive knowledge of the secrets of berk, he could at some point be used as a villain when he uses his knowledge against someone, or be the man who makes another antagonistic character to do what they are doing. I have no current specific ideas for this character, this is more just so that if someone else has an idea of a way to use him in a plot, people know of his existence.
Player: Predominantly Pime2, but I am happy for people to use him as an NPC if they ever need a character to be healed by Ari. Also Open to people using him as a One-shot if they have a specific plot idea in mind for him.
