NAME: Natascha Falkenberg
- Nickname: Tascha
AGE: 17
ORIGIN: Outskirts of Berk
OCCUPATION: Doesn't have one yet! Natascha just graduated from viking training, and she hasn't found a job.
GENDER & SEXUALITY: Female / Asexual (defaulting to ace because she's never felt seriously attracted to anyone before)
LIKES:
•Birdwatching and wild-dragonwatching
--- Tascha often goes on walks in the wilderness just to watch these creatures in their natural habitat
•Good literature
--- Tascha loves to read, which gives her a slightly larger-than-average vocabulary
•Good food
--- Tascha is a complete foodie, but she is a horrible cook
•Music
--- Especially singing and birdsong
DISLIKES:
•Cooking
--- Tascha loves to eat good food, but hates spending time in the kitchen to actually make it
•Spaces with lots of people
--- Tascha likes people, but only in small doses at a time
•Deadlines
--- Not because she ignores them; on the contrary, they stress her out because she fears she won't make them
•Underground / wide open spaces
--- Tascha has a pesky fear of being trapped or without cover, so she avoids underground places and open plains
STRENGTHS:
•Intuitive: Tascha can accurately predict events and understand people given much less information than most people need
•Good listener: Tascha is very comfortable talking with a few people at a time and enjoys hearing about how people are doing. Be warned, though, she won't accept a simple answer like "Good" when she asks, "How are you?"
•Compassionate: Tascha is very affected by the pains of others and will stand by people she doesn't even know until she's certain that they're doing alright
•Independent: Tascha is confident in her own beliefs and ideas, and will do what she thinks she should do, not just what she's told to do, though usually the two overlap
---> Combat-wise: Tascha naturally has hyperactive reflexes
WEAKNESSES:
•Isolated: Tascha grew up without contact with a lot of people, so she's not comfortable in large or super-formal social situations
•Unorganized: Tascha has difficulty remembering all the things she's supposed to do, unless they involve a person
•Absent-minded: Tascha can be so introspective that she zones out even during conversation, though she doesn't mean to
•Timeliness: No matter how early Tascha tries to be, she's always just a few minutes late
---> Combat-wise: Tasha isn't very coordinated, and usually has lots of close calls that would be easy to take advantage of
FEARS:
•Being late to something important
•Letting someone down
•Forgetting something important
•Being trapped or left defenseless
•To a small extent, dragons (imagine how most people are with horses: watching them is awesome, but get too close and you get really nervous)
AMBITIONS:
•Actually find a good job
•Make some close friends
•Get over her dragon anxiety
•Find her place in society
SECRETS:
•Has two moms (read history for details): same-gender relationships aren't exactly condoned in ancient viking society, so she doesn't talk at all about her home life
•Doesn't know her own sexuality yet, which freaks her out sometimes and causes her to completely avoid anything romantic because she has no clue what she's doing or what she wants
OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Tascha is a humanitarian and an introvert who is very curious about the world. She likes people, but can only handle them in small doses. She deals with her own problems and pain by looking after others and ends up being the mom of most groups because she is solicitous. Tascha also loves deep conversation but finds that others can't always tolerate the intensity of her conversations, so she usually thinks them to herself, which only adds to her appearance of being absent-minded. Tascha finds that she has a similar problem with relationships - she is most fulfilled by relationships that reach an intensity most people can't handle, so she will make few, but very close, friends. Though she doesn't know it yet, this is the reason she hasn't fallen for anyone; she is only attracted to people once she knows them very, very, well. She often is described as a smart loner by people who don't know her, which she disagrees with because she's not truly a loner and isn't "smart" as in book-smart so much as intelligent. Sometimes her use of big words makes people think she's trying to show off, when in reality she assumes that everyone else knows what the words mean.
Tascha would describe herself as loyal, confident and trustworthy. People who know her well would describe her as wise, dependable and somewhat of a dreamer.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Tascha is exceedingly tall, which caused her to "outgrow herself" -- because she grew so quickly, she never got used to her own height, so she's still not very coordinated. Often, she'll make jokes about her "wingspan" when she accidentally elbows someone or something, because her arms grew proportionately and are thus also quite long.
She has a very angular face and well-shaped eyes with unusually long eyelashes. Because of this, her eyes are her favorite physical characteristic. Her nose is round and slightly large, and her lips are a little thick. Her jawline and chin are stubborn-looking, which suits her personality on occasion. Her cheekbones melt into her face.
Her dark brown hair is a few inches past shoulder-length and usually back in a thick braid. She usually wears a long leather vest over a long-sleeved dark purple shirt, tied around the waist with a rope-belt, and long dark pants with tall boots.

HISTORY:
Natascha was born on November 7 in her home in the outskirts of Berk, and she is currently 17.
Natascha's upbringing wasn't unusual in the least - actually, looking back at it, she'd say it was the best she could've asked for. It was really nothing special, as far as vikings go.
Except for her unusual family.
After her father died of an injury-related illness, her single mother, Kori, kept going to the healer's house. Because this habit started when Tascha was really young, she never thought much of it - not even when one of the healer, a woman named Asta, came to stay with them. Asta became part of the home while Tascha was still just a toddler, helping Kori with managing the household and raising little Tascha. It was only when Tascha was around the age of five that she realized none of her favorite books had a family like hers. In fact, none of the other kids did, either.
Eventually, Tascha realized that her family was not only the only one like it (at least that she knew of), it was also quite frowned upon by her village. For her sake and theirs, her mothers kept their relationship a secret, and Tascha learned to do the same. On the rare occasion she visited a friend, she always went to their hut, and they never went to hers. Kori and Asta were never in public together, but they excused Asta's frequent appearances with Tascha as being a good family friend who helped Kori after her tragic loss, and the family managed well, despite the odds.
Tascha's mothers often told her not to talk about them to her friends, because they would be very, very mad at Asta for staying with them and wouldn't understand that Asta loved Tascha and Kori. While Tascha never truly understood, she did as she was told and kept to herself. As such, Tascha doesn't know many of the people on Berk, and instead spent most of her childhood observing wildlife. She especially loved finding the occasional wild dragon and likes to think that they like her as much as she likes them.
As for combat training, Tascha received the required amount in her school, but didn't receive any extra supervised training at home due to her mothers' busy schedule. Thus, she didn't practice very much with any bladed weapons. However, during her frequent trips to the "wilderness" (though she never strayed too far), she had ample opportunity to practice her free-running (wilderness agility) and pole weaponry with "stick-fighting." Her comfort with these types of arms led her to later choose her metal staff as her trusty weapon.
Tascha graduated from viking training with an interest in literature and the arts, but didn't want the reputation that most artists get, so she's still trying to find a place in viking society. She's considered being a dragon rider and a traveling merchant but needs more time to get her thoughts together. She lives alone now in a hut somewhat closer to town and makes money by doing odd jobs for the rural folks.
FAMILY:
Biological mother: Kori Falkenberg
"Adoptive" mother: Asta Matsen
Deceased father: Eksel Falkenberg
WEAPON OF CHOICE:
Wooden Staff - adorned with metal studs, feathers found on walks, etc
FIGHTING STYLE:
Tascha has excellent reflexes and is good with her staff and at freerunning. Therefore, she's a mid-melee-range, very mobile fighter. She's also fairly resourceful and makes for an unpredictable opponent due to her self-taught style and willingness to use unusual aspects of her environment to gain the advantage. She's not particularly graceful, but she is fairly agile. However, due to her lack of practice with real-life fights, she frequently overreaches herself, causing her to be fairly unbalanced, especially against sturdier opponents, with whom she swings harder.
Tascha's strength is defense and escape, not offense.
