After discussion with staff members, I am announcing that we are going to unfortunately remove the Stats from the dragon infos.
I had initially addded them, because the HTTYD website had added a bunch of stats for dragons, and I thought it would be cool to have them on here as well. And so I did, and for a time, it was good.
But now we see there are too many issues with the stats. First of all, the canon stats are completely whacko. We have no idea what it's rated out of, so when you see a Terrible Terror has apparently a faster speed than Stormcutters, there's a problem. Then for the most part its like, usually within 1-20 so I'm like "cool i guess we could go off a d20 stats", until they start adding dragons with like stats in the 30's or more.
I had the idea for custom dragons people could base the stats on the d20, so to say 10 is the "average" and then above or below that means the stat in question is above or below the average. Not many people did that, though i'll admit it probably wasn't very well explained on our part, either.
Paws had talked about the idea of making a standard stat thing, including the canon dragons, but we feared that'd be far too much trouble than it's worth, and not everyone would follow those rules.
Finally, the stats serve no purpose in RP. For potential dragon races, I had not considered stats to be of importance. I only decided to add dice rolls into dragon racing for success/failure of a manoeuvre, so that all types of dragons could participate and have a chance to win, even if there's a Night Fury and a Gronckle in the same race.
So I'm going to start removing stats from the dragon information. I'll leave current pending dragons be, I don't want to tamper with apps that are currently being worked on D: Though the staff working on them will probably remind those apps of this change c:
I think thats about it, I think this is the longest update post i've ever done, lol. Feel free to discuss about the change here!
