It was the slow days that really bugged Jokul. He didn't mind helping his mother around the house, but at the moment, there was nothing to be done. He ended up sitting at the table near the front door, holding his head up with one hand, and idly tapping on the wood with the other.
I wonder if I could sneak out with Stark following... Maybe Grima or Fern-
"Jokul!"
The exclamation jolted the teen from his reverie. Shifting his eyes from the table, he spotted one of his parents. After realizing his father didn't sound like that or have black hair, he asked, "What?"
"Aww! Is someone bored?" She cooed.
Grumbling at being found out so easily, the teen leaned back in his chair. "And if I am?"
Kari rested a hand on her son's shoulder. "Shade's circling again." Jokul sighed, knowing the dragon always acted oddly before a storm. "You could be the caring brother you are and bring Starkad to the healer. They might have something to calm her down." The younger hobblegrunt was no doubt hiding in the rafters above his bed. She did that every time Thor made his presence known.
Jokul made a noncommittal noise of agreement at her suggestion.
"Now, might be a good time before it starts raining." His mother scolded him. When the teen didn't move, she cleared her throat.
"It's not like the thunder's going to hurt Stark." He hissed under his breath. Kari crossed her arms and pulled the chair out from under her son. Unprepared for the sudden absence, Jokul fell onto the wooden planks on the ground. "What was that for!?"
"Starkad. Now."
"I'm not dragging the brat's sorry butt all the way-!"
"Yes, you are."
With no alternatives, the teen reluctantly trudged up to his room. Immediately, he heard the whimpers coming from Starkad, and sighed as he stretched his arms out. "Get down from there." There was barely any time after he'd said that before the hobblegrunt jumped at him, wrapping her form around his body. Despite her overall small size, Jokul was still thrown off-balance. He managed to keep upright, but not without getting a few good scratches along his back where Starkad was digging her back claws into.
"You big baby." He patted her snout, which was painted so bright a teal it was easy to spot, even for Jokul. "Let's get you something that'll help."
Later, if asked, Jokul would've said that walking through Berk with a dragon on his back was easy and denied any other possibility. The only thing wrong with that answer, is that without Starkad, he had a much harder time navigating himself to the right building. Not only that, but 100 pounds of reptile on your back isn't exactly easy.
After making sure he had the right house, Jokul started knocking on the door. "I've got a dragon with an anxiety attack out here!" The sound must've scared the hobblegrunt, because she was tightening her hold around the boy, making it harder for him to breathe. "Stark!-" He wheezed. "Let... go!"
[OOC - So I took Shade out of the equation... but still got Starkad there eventually ^^]
