Getting out of the Rain [ Dalla / Jokul ]

Dalla sighed, grabbing the satchel and her bow with a fake half smile.
She and Vanum had been planning this for awhile now, and after nagging and nagger her parents, they had agreed... mostly because Vanum said he'd hunt for the next mouth without complaint. It was rare that Vanum did anything without at least one complaint or another. She looked to the clouds for a moment, wondering if Jokul had backed out because of the weather.
Yes. Jokul was coming. That was the main reason her parents had been so reluctant to let her go in the first place.
Vanum whined unhappily and she looked to him. He had busied himself by handing upside down from a free using his tail. At least her friend was giving her something to do. She pulled out her book and started sketching the dragon with a small smile on her face as he made silly faces.
Once done, the dragon slid down, viewing her work as Dalla looked around hopefully, but again, no sign.
"I don't think he's coming..." Dalla mumbled sadly, looking to her feet unhappily and glaring at them as if they were the cause for this whole situation.

[Jokul & Starkad]

"Tell me again why you're going out in this weather." Kari Steinthor lent against her son's doorframe.

Jokul rifled through his bag to make sure he had everything he needed. "I promised a classmate I'd go on a little hunting trip. And there's no way in Hel I'm going to have a lie blow up in my face by saying no."

"Oooh! Is that another way to say you're going to play kissy-face with your girlfriend?" His mother teased, earning a blush from the teen.

"N-No! Fern has nothing to do with this! I'm meeting up with Dalla and Vanum." When he heard the woman 'hmm' back at him, he immediately added, "And don't tell her I'm doing this! She'll either go out looking for me, or yell at me for not inviting her."

Kari gave him a knowing smile and held her palms out in defense. "Alright, alright. I won't." Jokul's shoulder's sagged in relief. "If," His mother continued. "You take Starkad with you."

The said hobblegrunt perked her head up from her spot up in the rafters.

"It's not like I was going to be able to leave without hr following anyway." The teen grumbled before stringing up his rarely used bow.

The trek took longer than expected. At first, Starkad was helpful by leading the way and warning him of obstacles, but as time went on, she started finding distractions. Jokul had to snap her back into focus when he saw her colors shift to blue and purple.

It probably took the two of them a whole hour to make it to the area Dalla had suggested. It was then that Starkad ventured off into the brush ahead. Jokul was forced to follow in her suite to make sure she didn't get lost.

"I don't think he's coming..."

Upon hearing the voice, he changed his direction. I'll find Stark later.

The first thing he saw was Vanum's large, black form hovering upside-down nearby his rider. He didn't care much for why as he made an excessive amount of noise to alert the two.

"I have the feeling you've been waiting for awhile." After glancing around for his dragon, he made his way to stand a few feet from Dalla. "Stark was getting sidetracked the whole walk here." Again, he tried to find the purple or yellow scales of the hobblegrunt. "I don't know where she went, but I'm sure she'll show up when we least want her to."

Dalla jumped slightly, looking up to the male with a red face. She coughed slightly, clearing her throat. "You... made it..." The female said with a soft smile, looking to Vanum whom had started sniffing around in hopes of finding Starkad. "I'm sure Vanum will find her... in the mean time, do you want to head off? I found a really good place up a bit, we should be able to reach it without Vanum." She said, standing up and grabbing her things. She turned to see that Vanum had left everything at the base of a tree and sighed something along the lines of, 'or not...'. She turned back to Jokul. "Sorry, looks like we'll have to wait for Vanum to get back, he left everything here instead of keeping it attached to his saddle like I told him..." The female pinched the bridge of her nose. "It's either that or we carry everything until thy find us."

Vanum let out a rather loud squawk, looking around as to try and find his young friend, Staky. "Starkad?" He called, looking around for the dragon as he swivelled his head around to try and spot the mischievous dragon. He sighed mentally as he continued padding through the lower mountains, looking for the small dragon before she could get herself hurt.
