[IMPORTANT] Good Byes from the Admins

This is something I should have written months ago, but I’ve been avoiding actually writing it cause…well this is a really painful thing to write. Redkitebait and I have been a part of this site for over 5 years, we’ve been admins for almost all of that time and primary site runners since Abyss (Berk’s Dragons creator and original admin) disappeared back in 2013. This site is our baby and we have and always will love what we’ve done with it, and I am personally amazed the two of us were able to keep this site alive as long as we did.

But life catches up with us all. When we joined we were both still in school and had the time to do the admin for this site. Now we’re both left University and in full time work with other creative projects we both want to do. I am trying to write novels/short stories that I can actually get published and Red is still trying to find the time to do professional art on the side.

Neither of us have the time to either RP nor review applications regularly anymore, and my biggest regret regarding this site is not coming to terms with that fact back in June. I had been trying since December 2015 to find members who could be on consistently enough (and who we thought we could trust with the responsibility) that we could train to take our places, but I had no luck. I had gotten myself to believe that I could somehow I could somehow juggle this site with my work and writing commitments, but that completely fell through in June.

So this is us officially stating we're stepping back from running this site indefinitely. We do not have the capability to keep it going so Red has decided to for now remove the requirement of an application being accepted before you can RP and we have deactivated the restriction of new members being able to post in RP threads. Please act responsibly such cause since there will be no official admins on the side regularly you will need to keep yourselves and each other in check if you choose to RP on this site. If over time it becomes the case certain people end up taking the defacto position of a admin/moderator we will consider giving them rights at which point they can decide to reinstate review requirements.

We do not want to lose touch with anyone, the most depressing thought about leaving this site is the idea an old member comes back expecting Red and myself to still be here and instead find a dead site. That’s why I have made an email [e-mail]. Any mail sent to this address will be forwarded to whatever my current email is so I will see it. Please email me if you want to say hi, I miss every member we’ve had (even those who gave us challenges) and I would love to hear how you all are doing. I will also update this message in the future if/when I create a site/blog/whatever that I’m are using. Also if you got our other contact details over the years (skype, facebook, etc.) don’t hesitate to contact us that way, I’ve just made the email address for anyone who has no other way to contact us.

I will pop my head in every now and then. For now I will sign off by just saying I hope you have enjoyed this site for however long you’ve been here and I wish you all the best futures.

P.S. Since writing this I decided that it might be worth me trying to be active on this site for a little longer to try and help jump start any attempts to get this site moving again, cause there are people who want to RP on here and I'd rather leave this site in the hands of people that would keep it going rather than be the one to kill it. So I will be around but I will not review any apps (though I'll be happy to talk with you about your characters to help you out ), and if I do agree to join RPs with you be warned I am going to be very slow at replying and could easily go inactive at any moment. The [e-mail] is as much a method for you guys to call me back as it is for old members to get into contact me with.

TL;DR - None of the current admins can review or RP anymore so we have are saying goodbye and people no longer our express permission to RP. Please try to stick to the rules, they exist cause they are good guidelines, and try to self regulate yourselves If you want to contact me email [e-mail]. I will try to be online for the next month or so to try and help the site somehow survive us leaving. 

Also, I can't be brief with my messages. This is a known issue.

But is it possible to still do a quick check over apps? (I think I still have that Helping Hand position...) Because I can imagine some people getting a little... carried away with backstories, or whatnot.

Over the summer I'm probably going to have a lot more free time and be able to check back more. I've already finished a redo of Jokul/Starkad's app, and started a new RP thread. (Though.... maybe making it about a depressed Jokul is a bad idea... *starts thinking of new thread ideas*)
