As the light glow of the sun started to appear of the waters edge, a lone shape could be seen in the air. As minutes passed the shape became more clear. For those who were looking, a dragon and what looked to be a human riding it, took up the shape. More minutes passed as finally the color and size of the dragon could be guessed. Green scales, what looked to be a big body, with long wings. A Green Longwing flying back towards Berk could only mean one thing, Summer had returned.
A smile broke out of the girls face as she saw what had been her home for her whole life. Weeks had passed since she last saw the island of Berk. This was no thanks to Swiftscales. The dragon had started to feel slightly homesick, so the pair had decided to take a trip up to the mountaintops to Swiftscales first home. "We're almost there girl." The dragon only let out a hum for a response. Even she felt a certain excitement over being back to this place that she had grown to love. It meant that Summer didn't worry about her brother and his shenanigans, or about her family and them missing her.
Plus, it meant fish. Sure, she was spoiled a little bit on the stuff. But when having tough wild animals that resided at the mountain tops being her main food, and then going to the soft fish, who wouldn't appreciate something new and different? The couple weeks away from Berk had been great. Swiftscales was glad to see her old family and tell them of everything they've learned. Summer was glad to get away and not have to worry about covering her brothers tracks, even though she did still worry. The only reason they came back earlier than they had originally planned was because the temperature at the mountains had dropped rustically and the snow had came in heavier.
Summer couldn't stand snow already and that much was making the girl hectic with fear of getting hypothermia. As they finally landed on one of the sandy shores of Berk, it was easy to see that the snow had started down here as well. A thin layer layered the ground and even more was starting to fall. A small sigh left her lips, but her smile didn't fade. It couldn't. She was too happy to be back here. She slid of Swiftscales who automatically took too the water. Summer stood back and tilted her head as the dragon dove under the water once before coming back out and flicking her wings to get the water off. "Don't look at me like that Summer. The dew from flying above the clouds was getting sticky and annoying." Summer gapped and blinked at her dragon. "And getting wet from the salt water and then getting cold from the fresh snow falling is better than that?!"
But the dragon only huffed. "I don't get cold. And don't question me." Summer shook her head as a small smile took over. Whatever, if her dragon thought that was best for her, let her be. She was supposed to be smarter, at least that was what Swiftscales had said a couple hundred times. She shook her head and looked up to Berk. It was too early in the morning for her parents and brother to be up. As much as she missed them and knew that they wouldn't mind being woken up for her arrival, she wanted to wait until they woke up on their own. She looked back to her dragon as the Longwing had taken to tucking its wings to its side and laying down on the snow. Summer took the few shorts steps over to her dragon and hopped up again, laying across her dragons back as they waited for the sun to rise further (even though you couldn't really see it) and the village to wake up.
