Grima silently nodded to Halldor before turning to the weapons. He tried a couple of swords before he stuck with one he liked the feel of. He rather liked getting to use a lighter blade than he usually did, given he always preferred to keep his manoeuvrability as high as possible. A part of him didn’t even want to pick up a shield, but he did as he knew it was a needed thing.
“I’d rather learn this lesson, sir,” Grima said in response to Rilkar’s question. As Rilkar demonstrated the fool’s guard stance (OOC: I am making the assumption that that will be in your post, but it’s a required assumption and one which is relatively safe to make ) Grima carefully watched him and mirrored the actions so as to get it in his head. Grima really didn’t like how it left his upper body unguarded, but the stance did feel good for dodging. Grima could tell it was meant for fighting much more refined combatants than Vikings. This stance would have little effect against an axe wielding crazy girl.
The boy smiled at Jokul’s asking if he wanted to attack first. “Well, if you want me to go first you should probably get into the position our teacher just described,” Grima moved into the position with minor posturing inaccuracies but it was a passable example of it, “Come on, unless you want to take a swipe at me instead?” It did feel interesting putting on a look of unguardedness as an actual fighting style.
(OOC Crystal the Scauldron: Since I didn’t bother to talk with you before finishing this, you can choose whether to have Jokul would be the defender or attacker. If the former you can decide on how Grima attacks in your post idm giving you control over that so we’re not taking forever in the combat xD)
