“Come on Nanna, please?”
“The answer is no, now pay attention to what you’re doing.”
This argument had been going on for quite a while now between the siblings. It was a really nice day out and Boulder wanted to enjoy it outside. Instead he was stuck at the forge — again. The heat and clanging of the metal was becoming more grating on the young boy each second. He had no idea what Nanna’s problem was, ever since he heard what happened a few weeks back at the bakery she had been extra watchful to make sure he wouldn’t sneak outside. ’It’s not my fault you decided to start a fight.' Well, okay maybe it was partially his fault, since he wasn’t around to do whatever errand for her while she was in one of those hostile moods, but that still didn’t seem right.
He stopped hammering the sword he was working on. “I can’t take this anymore,” he whined, ”my head is going to explode from this!” He really needed to step outside, away from all this racket. His sister knew that he got headaches often, so the next part he had already gotten memorized.
”Fine. Just go to-” “-go to my room and don’t even think about sneaking outside.” Nanna shot him a look of disapproval. “Yeah, yeah, I’m going.” Before his sister could retort he was already dragging his feet through the door leading inside the house.
Once he reached his room on the top floor he landed on his bed with a thud. ”Stupid sister, why’s she got to be so…” he tried to think of the word through his pained head. “…controlling. Ughhhh!” As he lay there for a while, vaguely looking out the window then suddenly he got a crazy idea.
’What if I jumped out the window?’ He never tried doing that before, but maybe… he could make it? He got up enough to lean over to open it. The cool air on his face encouraged him to continue. He put a foot on the edge before changing his mind. From this distance it would hurt when landing.
He looked around his room trying to think of something. His eyes set on the fur blanket beneath him. It wasn’t long enough to reach the ground but it should be enough to lessen the distance fallen. He grabbed his vest off the bedpost before dragging the blanket over the window’s edge. He did his best to tie the blanket to the post. After being satisfied with how tight it was he started to make his way out the window and down the makeshift rope.
Unfortunately he didn’t take into account that he weighed more than the amount of force he was using to tug at the blanket just moments ago. In seconds he suddenly found himself falling gracelessly to the ground below him. He slowly got up, rubbing his pained backside. Suddenly the sound of footsteps caught his attention and he bolted in the direction of the docks.

It was some time after that he finally arrived. His headache was still there but not as bad as it was earlier. It wasn’t too busy here today by the looks of things, so he felt free to wander onto one of the ships.
It looked considerably different from his father’s ship, at least from what he remembered. For one thing it looked much cleaner than his father’s, so whoever this one belonged to either really cared about it or it was just finished recently. As we explored the ship he noticed some tools as well as a box containing nails.
To most viking children, the tools would be largely uninteresting. The Brandsparr boy however had a problem when it came to anything even remotely shiny looking. He barely registered that he started filling the pouch around his neck with the metal objects, then just holding them in his hands when it filled up. He couldn’t stay here for too long now. He had to find a safer location to look over his newly acquired… treasure? Well to him it’s treasure.
He didn’t realize that he wasn’t actually as alone on this ship as he first thought.
[ooc] Uhhh I hope this is alright. Sorry for the long intro. xD
